Equinox - DC
This is the first time that we tried out a brunch menu and it is excellent. There were plenty of options to choose from. The dessert tables was fully of delicious choices. And best of all, they're all VEGAN. We'll definitely be back with our friends and families.
This is the second time we've gone for their vegan Sunday Brunch. The food is SO GOOD. It's actually vegan food that's just amazing, instead of vegan food that tries to be other food - meat eaters won't be disappointed. The brunch is an all you can eat buffet, and they change up their offerings on different Sundays so it's not the same if you go repeatedly.
Great restaurant. Gorgeous decor. Great food for diners of all types (from vegan to meat lovers). Service is attentive and detail oriented. The prices are a bit high (especially for the drinks) but I will keep this place in mind for special occasions.
It’s a fine experience but it’s very expensive for an ok feeling. For that cost we should have been wow-d by every dish. Each dish was better than average dining but just ok. Cocktail was impressive.
Love that they had so many vegan options and were able to accommodate us bringing a baby. Food was pretty good but not worth the incredibly high price
Good food. Poor service. Crummy ambiance. Way better options in DC - this place is a poor value.
The black truffle fettuccini special was fantastic
This is a wonderful place for a vegan Sunday brunch. I have been twice now and it was great on both occasions. Same menu, and I was glad because I was hoping to get some crispy cauliflower--the best you will ever eat. Nice, easy pace and the vibe is low key unless you are seated near that one table that always has trouble knowing how to modulate their voices in a fine dining location.
The Equinox continues to delight! My wife is vegan and it is difficult to fine good vegan fare. The Sunday Brunch is superb, the wait staff remembered us from previous visits and the ambiance is wonderful. we shall return over and over again!
Fantastic vegan brunch and great accommodation of gluten-free needs. Definitely worth it for a special occasion or as a treat!
As always, Equinox was superb, but perhaps this most recent visit was even better. It was a family birthday celebration - with several family members wondering if they could dine well while maintaining their efforts to be vegetarian. Could we have selected a better restaurant? So many of the menu's listings made it clear that all ingredients were entirely plant-based, yet the carnivores among us had tantalizing options, too. To have dinner guests who are ecstatic about their meals, to have a dinner where conversation was effortless because the sound levels were comfortable, and to have service that was unobstrusive and infinitely kind made the evening a smashing success. Our guests raved about the food, raved about the wine, and made it abundantly clear that the dinner party had been memorable in so many ways. May Equinox grace the Washington DC dining scene for at least another 20 years - better still, forever!
We love Equinox. We’ve been maybe a half dozen times this past 12mos or so. We took our two oldest boys there for their birthday in February and they’re now hooked as well. As a family we either eat entirely or mostly plant based and equinox has something for everyone. The tasting menu is outstanding.
Consistently one of the best, most inventive restaurants in Washington, this best-kept secret is celebrating 20 years ! If you have not been lately, go !
Yum! Another fantastic business lunch with new clients at Equinox.
Loved the delicious plant-based options and I was happy to see that the buffet is replenished constantly. Cheerful and accommodating service. Such a fun brunch experience!
This is our favorite brunch spot when eating with vegetarian and vegan friends and family. The food and service are great!! It's also a great location for a walk to the Renwick after brunch
Birthday brunch. Everything (food, ambiance, service) was excellent
Chef Todd and Ellen run a wonderful restaurant that never fails to please. They went the extra mile for my wife’s birthday!!
A dining experience with them is a “must have” for anyone’s list!
Chef Todd went above and beyond for me and my partner! The food was delicious as always and I can't wait to come back again soon.
Great food for all diets. Our table had regular, vegetarian and vegan diets and everything was delicious. Server was terrific but the support staff was slightly of. Despite that it was an excellent dinner!
I like to think of myself as a very adventurous eater, so when I saw the menu, I was quite excited. I left entirely disappointed... while the waiter was fantastic, the rest left something to be desired. The cocktails were good, as was the octopus, but the rest of the meal; not worth the money spent. The Brussel sprouts were rather flavorless, so much so that I ordered an additional sauce in the hope to choke the price down. The Ratatouille was missing some seasoning and the pork chops, while tender, left something missing as well. As optimistic for this place as this Foodie was, I would advise fellow foodies skip this spot in favor of one of DC’s many other culinary delights.
Best restaurant in Washington. Chef Gray is a culinary genius, and a gracious host.
The service was fantastic, no complaints there. The food was not that great, heavy or greasy, too salty or not enough flavor. Especially for that price, nothing special. Good atmosphere to conduct business dinners though.
Delicious vegan brunch and great drinks! The service staff is always so nice to be around which makes the whole experience welcoming and fun, exactly what I am looking for on a Sunday brunch, will definitely return!
Equinox had a great vibe, however, it was a bit pricey for all vegan food. Vegan food is typically a lot less expensive and for $35 a guest it wasn't necessarily worth the price or the wait.
Food is delicious but for coffee and juice not to be included with a $35 price seems ridiculous. However, love having a fully plant-based option!
Vegan buffet brunch in an elegant setting.
Sunday brunch is awesome! We had great service by Roman and team through out our dining experience. Roman explained the brunch buffet, the concept of small batches to ensure quality, and shared featured drinks. The food is unbelievable.
Equinox is one of the only restaurants in DC that serves really exceptional plant-based food, but also serves food for omnivores. It’s wonderful for special events.
While the food was pretty good, it is no where near good enough compared to its prices and competitors. Lots of places I could go and get an outstanding meal, paying less.
A few years ago, equinox was our “go to” spot for birthdays etc. hadn’t been there in a couple of years when we went back for thanksgiving and dinner was fabulous. Dinner this weekend was not so great. The food was good, but not as good as Thanksgiving and the service was a bit shaky
A most spectacular dinner - Equinox never fails to amaze. High on our list of recommendations are two starters - spiced eggplant chips with baba ghanoush. (I could have eaten two more orders. ) and Tuscan Baby Kale with Blood Orange salad. Scallops and the day's special pork entrees rounded out our lovely meal. What a joy to spend an evening at Equinox.
Very disappointing. The pasta was bland and overpriced!
Our experience with Peter at Equinox was unparalleled. The food was epic. Although we were determined to make the process as long and drawn as the Journey of Ulysses, Peter, instead guided us down the epicural path to ensure we had a lovely and well complimented trip.
The menu was awesome, to the fussiest PB (plant based) perfectionist, to the most ravenous carnivore.
We can't wait to return to DC. Assuming the government can get it together. But if Peter has his way, it will be brandy for everyone and we'll figure it out soon.
Philly and Brooklyn by way of the UK
I arrived at the restaurant with a mistake on my part that restaurant week was still in effect and It was my Birthday 🎂. Randy was so gracious to accommodate us anyway. The food was beyond the best meal ever and the Manager and staff made us feel special and helped in our celebration.
Between the beautiful ambience, incredible food and great care by the staff this has become my favorite restaurant in dc. Please go and enjoy!
I have the best steak ever in this resteraunt. It worth 5 star for just the dish.
Excellent Restaurant Week menu. Fabulous service. Solid cocktails. Highly recommend.
Outstanding food, cocktails, and service. Brunch can’t be beat - the plant-based selections are always innovative and delicious. The service is genuine and gracious. Great place to bring family and out of town guests...can’t say enough great things!
Delicious vegan brunch and dessert spread was amazing!
I am sending my tentative review to the restaurant and will update after I see how they respond. I can say that that food was quite tasty but with some tweaks the service could have been better and the experience would have been outstanding as opposed to good.
Delicious vegan brunch buffet!
