Equinox - DC
Food very average, wine prices outrageous.
Delicious brunch. Equinox continues to serve up delicious food and quality service.
The atmosphere was great. The food was extremely well presented and excellently prepared. The waiter was also courteous, attentive and very knowledgeable.
Perfect! Greeted and seated immediately which was followed up with some classy acknowledgement of our anniversary. Service was spot on as well as the food. Great ambiance and we could easily converse without raising our voice. Loved the plant-based options. Special treat!
Chef Gray is a maestro of cookery and a gracious host. His staff and service are the best. Top restaurant in DC!
I have previously reviewed Equinox as outstanding in every way. I took a guest this time who'd never been to Equinox before and she (a woman attorney) was also enthusiastically positive about the food and our ability to actually have a conversation and hear one another even though the room was filled with others having lunch meetings. Equinox is consistently outstanding.
The food and service are excellent. I appreciate the ability to converse with the people I'm with without "must speak with raised voice." The dinner menu for some reason seems to offer more vegetarian choices. Todd Gray is known for his preparation of vegetables and I'd like to see more of them at lunch.
Plant based food was delicious and they had nice touches throughout the dinner.
I really like Equinox and have been there several times. But this time the food quality is not as good as before- I was a little disappointed by the quality control there since the same dish taste so different ...
Equinox is one of our DC favorites. We always try to go there when we are in DC.
Best meal out in a long time
Lovely experience. Our waiter had served here for twenty years and it showed... impeccable service. Expensive but worth it.
Spectacular! Food was delicious, the service impecable!
This review is not for publications. Our family owned a large nut company and sold many varieties of nuts. Among other things, my wife was the final word on quality and could smell a rancid nut from a mile away! We did not accept any nuts that had the slightest amount of rancidity.
Great ambiance, fantastic service! We went for plant based brunch, the food was pretty good especially the hot items, and the drinks were top notch. Our server was friendly & attentive, and thoroughly explained everything. The decor is a little dated but the ambiance overall was fun and relaxing. Would definitely return.
The Vegan brunch was fantastic. I'm not vegan but would eat here for the vegan brunch regularly.
An extraordinary meal with impeccable yet warm service. Worth many return visits. Bravo Chef Gray!
Excellent food and service every time. They give you time to dine, you never feel rushed. Menu is creative and they have healthier options as well.
Good food and great service
Everything was very well prepared and delicious
We will be back
While the price is fairly on par for DC bottomless brunches, the food is such a higher quality than any other buffet I've experienced in the city. I came to celebrate my mother's birthday, and the staff were so sweet to us, bringing us extra dishes and birthday cake. Would highly recommend!
This is a gem in DC. There are few vegan options in DC so having such a nice Sunday brunch/buffet is very much appreciated. It is worth going solely for the desserts.
If I have to criticize I’d just say the layout is awkward and that tends to bunch up the line of people trying to get to the food. Having to stand behind someone while they try to read and choose between the 20 plus hot sauces could be done better. Then that leads to people grabbing with their hands and eating in the buffet line - as a buffet pro from Las Vegas I’ve seen it all but it is still nasty.
Amazing vegan food, can't wait to go back for brunch!
Equinox was average, I honestly do not have much to say about it. The short rib came without bone, and needed to be cut with a knife. I'm accustomed to my short rib being able to fall off the bone with a fork so this was not the same, it was also slightly overcooked on the edges. The service was great and attentive, drinks were good. Atmosphere was quiet.
It was Restaurant Week and although sometimes service and food can be somewhat dicey during this time, we enjoyed a wonderful meal. The food choices were excellent and our waiter was very helpful and efficient. We will definitely dine here again .
Food was exceptional. We went during Restaurant Week and were not disappointed. The wine pairings with the food added a nice touch. We ended up seated in a small room next to a table with some rather loud individuals, but that cannot really be helped by the waitstaff.
A couple of my friends and I participated in restaurant week and decided to eat here. It is a hidden gem in DC and the food was absolutely delicious. The prix fixe menu was perfect and had options for every taste. I had the short rib and it was melt in your mouth delicious. The service was great and attentive. I would definitely go back.
We went to Equinox for restaurant week as it is restaurant that we love. Unfortunately, this visit, the food seemed rushed, and likely premade. It didn't seem prepared with the care and consistency as before. The salad had too much sauce, was turning in color, and my tempura had too little sauce and too much tempura. I usually love my meals here. In the future, we will rethink attending during restaurant week on a Friday evening.
We had a delicious and beautifully prepared dinner with a nice wine pairing. The restaurant is also vegan-friendly which was a great discovery.
This is a lovely restaurant with kind service and deliciously prepared cuisine. Plenty of options for vegetarians too.
Wonderful! Starting from the eggplant chips with hummus to chocolate banana spring roll— everything was perfect! And we were full— portions are generous and the seemingly odd food pairings are quite delicious!
Absolutely amazing and wonderful value for DC restaurant week. Moses the server was particularly friendly, funny and knowledgeable. Also lots of vegetarian options which was a plus for me!
A very enjoyable meal. I loved the tomato fondue, but have no idea how it got that name.
Loved the food quality! It was a memorable dinner with excellent food and great service. Our new favourite restaurant in DC.
Menu inventive and attractive. Portions on the small size. The succotash under my halibut was just warm.
The presentation was outstanding and the food was delicious. My guest had a wonderful birthday at Equinox.
I went during Restaurant Week. It was just OK. Definitely would have been annoyed to have paid full price. The waiter we had wan inattentive and abrupt. The food was just OK. I'm glad for Restaurant Week in DC; it helps me decide what's worth checking out in the future and what's not. Kinda disappointed because I work right around the corner from that place, and I have to cross it off of my list of go-tos.
Amazing vegan brunch for those wanting to treat themselves.
Was really looking forward to this but it was average. Food ran out at the brunch fast and took awhile to replace. Didn’t seem like staff was monitoring which is odd given that it’s a buffet. Some food was great but for 35 a person I expected overall better. I ordered a drink it never came, we weren’t charged but it didn’t seem like service was a top priority. We were only checked in on one time and when we asked for the check they seem surprised. For what we paid we just expected more.
I love white tablecloths, great food, satisfactory wine selection and a calm quiet setting. Equinox was so relaxing and the service perfect, not too invasive but great customer service. I am a vegan the vegan selection I chose was really tasty. I had a wonderful experience.
