The place was understaffed (as are many right now) but they were kind, courteous and HUSTLING! The food was delicious and everyone was just so friendly and energetic! I'll most definitely be back.
My dinner at Epoch was lovely. I dined solo, as a guest at the Inn, and was pleased by the attentive service, appealing menu, and delicious food. Thanks for taking good care of me.
Delicious food, wonderful waitress. Very small portions of fish/meat but I think that’s an issue at all restaurants right now. Will be back for sure.
We have had the brick chicken before, but this time it was disappointing. Brick chicken should be very browned, and this was more like roasted chicken with very light browning. The squash, kale, and potatoes seemed to have been mixed together and cooked under the chicken since they all tasted the same. A waste!
Erik, our server, was excellent. He was attentive but not hovering. He gave us time when we needed it but was prompt when we didn’t. Pushing extras a bit harder than we would have liked but backed off quickly when we showed no interest.
Dining booth was excellent! Service and food was excellent!
Our server, Asher, was wonderful. The food was plentiful & delicious! One of our favorites in Exeter.
The soup, Butternut Squash was outstanding. Thank you, The crabcake was too salty as were the french fries, I could not eat either after two bites.
Like most restaurants during COVID, they were very short staffed. Our waiter did fine for having so many tables, but forgot one of our soup appetizers. The food was good, but overly salty. Also disappointed that the online menus listed a seafood stew, while they had replaced it with corn chowder.
This was the least satisfactory visit to Epoch that we have had in several years. 3 of us (out of 4) had mussels. These were not sufficiently cooked as 1/4 to 1/3 in 2 of the 3 plates were not open... that is, they were not completely cooked.
In addition, the server had too many tables to attend to and was less attentive to us than we have experienced in the past.
Enjoyed a delicious Sunday Brunch at the hands of friendly and professional server Dierdre. We were fortunate to get an outdoor table in a season when the weather is turning a bit cooler. We'll be back soon!
Great service. Low on staff but service and food was not affected. We had stuffed French toast and salmon Benedict. Food was excellent. Would go again.
Our waitress Val was awesome! The food was good and we had a nice dinner!
Short, simple and specific are fewer than 50 characters!
Three dinners and one brunch during our say at Exeter Inn and the foregoing review covers them all. Would appreciate a few more options to vary the menu. But the waitstaff is efficient and hard working.'
Overall, Very Good.
Always a pleasant dinning experience! Very relaxing
We are regulars at Epoch for Sunday Brunch. Decided to have dinner with friends in the outdoor dining space. Our foursome was most hospitably served by Bethany, always the consummate pro. We asked for drink, entree and dessert recommendations. Bethany recommended salmon and chicken under a brick. We had two of each and were completely satisfied by the hot, delicious entrees. Peach cobbler to finish up was also a big hit. We'll be back again soon.
Bartender was great
Finally got table after our reservation was given away.
After seated, Waited 35 minutes before a waitress ( whom I don’t think was ours) greeted us and apologized.
She was great as well.
I know people are short staffed.
That was not the issue here.
A full staff passed by us regularly with an effort not to make eye contact.
It was very weird.
Wait staff appeared aggravated and angry.
Anyway food was good.
Drinks were great
My wife says chalk it yo to Covid.
We will try again.
Excellent starters and entrees with creative touches. Outdoor seating was comfortable and quiet.
The service and menu choices were both excellent,,
Love the menu option, and everyone in our party loved their dish.
One of Exeter’s best dining experiences
Arrived hungry from our journey to stay in the inn, so decided to have an early dinner. The food was great and the service was excellent.
The patio is an excellent option for having a nice casual dinner.
Good food, great waitress, great atmosphere. A regular for us.
Just what we expected: good food, served timely, great wait staff.
Great experience and both food and beer options were great. Marble cheesecake to boot! Can’t beat it for the price!
We have added Epoch to our permanent "go-to" list. We find that it is consistently great! The menu is very generous, the food delightful, the drinks outstanding, the staff very courteous and the ambiance is wonderful, either outside or dining in the restaurant. We can't recommend it enough:)
Ordered a Casar salad..not much dressing mixed in. My girlfriend thought it was bland. I also had Johnny Cakes..don't waist your ti me e on them.
Girlfriend ordered Corn Chowder, we both thought it was very tasty.
We had a reservation, however there were seats at the bar available. The bartender, Candy was great! The Portlandia Pinot noir was delicious and my husband really liked the Manhattan. We had the shishido peppers, grilled cheese and fish and chips. Everything was delicious but the french fries were on the cool side. We enjoyed and will definitely be back!
The noise level makes me not want to go back. We requested outside but it wasn't honored.
This place is a gem. I wish it was much closer to my home in Bedford, NH. Our server was delightful.
interesting menu, very friendly waitstaff, cool vibe
Limited menu, no specials. Good food prepared timely. Very good service. Moderately priced.
The food was not that good. It was very bland. The bar could not make simple mixed drinks. We won’t be going back.
My boyfriend and I had a weekend away and stayed at the Exeter Inn. We had brunch on our last day, and I must say this was probably the best brunch we both ever had!! He had the chicken and waffles - which he LOVED and I had the stuffed French toast - which was absolutely delicious! The service was amazing. The staff was so friendly and attentive. We were bummed we didn’t try lunch or dinner during our stay!
Lovely anniversary venue
Mushroom ragot was way to spicy gave me intestinal problems my wife's Fish was excellent
The food was good and service was great. The only negative was the continual loud slamming of the door out onto the outside diners. I felt terrible for the couple seated right next to it. It slammed every few minutes all during my dinner. Only one person had the foresight to gently let it close. The servers had to have noticed it.
Delicious food, good drinks, and a lovely patio for outdoor dining.
Great place for the family or a date night. Beautiful setting and fantastic service. For NH this is up there with the better food locations
Best burger ever! Everyone was lovely and responsive.
