   I have been here before and it was great, which is why I chose Epoch to celebrate my birthday there (3 people total). The best part about Epoch is that it is in the Ritz-Carlton hotel which means that although Epoch’s menu is not great, the hotel’s room service menu has some of the best food in the city. In the past, I would always just order from the room service menu (they have the best chicken tenders in the world). All 3 of us looked at both menus (we found the room service menu online) and all of us happened to want things from the far superior room service menu. Unfortunately, this time around we were told their policy changed and we could no longer order from that menu. Keep in mind, I was there two months ago and had no problem ordering from the room service menu and it was amazing. After trying to find something good to eat from the Epoch menu without success, we decided to leave and go to a different restaurant somewhere else. I hope they change their policy back or perhaps the Ritz-Carlton should open a dine-in restaurant for the public featuring their room service menu because they are depriving the whole city (unless you stay at the hotel) from some of the best food in Toronto.

   The booking system was acknowledged to be a little problematic but the afternoon tea we wanted was accommodated. It had pretty much everything in a standard afternoon tea service. The food was fresh, the presentation was lovely and the service was good.

   Fantastic service - every staff member we encountered GENUINELY WELCOMED us, making us feel at ease. The open concept modern decor (of the interior dining room) is tasteful in darker woods and touches of lighter hues (however the open concept design can lead one to going deaf with the DJ soundtrack + overly boisterous patrons during peak times) . Scant yet sufficient 'by-the-glass' wine list offerings. Out party opted for a variety of the interesting offering of appetizers (each of good portion, lovely presentation and flavour) over the pedestrian main courses listed. Bread pudding dessert was awesome. Tables are on the smaller scale but staff immediately supplemented table space with multi-purpose cocktail tables. Definitely plan to return.

   Excellent service from Carlene and Brent. Lobster roll was amazing. Bread pudding different than what would expect but delicious. Looking forward to the patio opening up with the nicer well. Thanks again Carlene and Brent. CapsFam

   Pretty mediocre. As soon as we arrived we were given a time limit on our seating. There was literally no one in the place. When I'm paying for "tea" prix fix, I don't want to be given a time limit on how long I can enjoy my experience. Pretty lame. The staff were very nice, otherwise.

   Service was good, tea was good - and that's it! Their afternoon tea is nothing special to remember. Generally overpriced snack :(

   We had an excellent experience at Epoch today. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious and the ambiance was perfect. I was a little surprised our servers didn’t seem to know about the information we had put into our Open Table reservation (they didn’t know we were celebrating a birthday until they overheard us talking about it) although we listed it in the reservation. However, they were extremely hospitable and thoughtful- they even brought out a birthday brownie to honour the event. It was a wonderful experience and we enjoyed it immensely!
