This restaurant is a gem. Our wait team was excellent. Anything we wanted to change, like our entree veggies, was no problem. Among the four of us we had the trout, short ribs and lamb chops and everything was delicious. I love the old house atmosphere with the smaller rooms with tables. You can actually have a conversation and hear yourself talk. My Cosmo was perfect and I know a perfect Cosmo when I get one! We were too full for dessert but I have no doubt it would have been delicious. For apps each couple split a caesar salad and the scallops and not a leaf or bite left on any plate. I don’t think you will be disappointed and I can’t wait to go back.
Great food and service started a little slow as it was almost 10mins before our server came...had to ask another server if he was our server. Once our server was found everything was great from there. Would recommend as a nice change from the chains.
Great food, great service. Loved the idea of dining in rooms of an old house. Will definitely be back again.
We always have a great dining experience at Epicurean Cafe. This was a date night with another couple and their first time at Epicurean. They were quite impressed.
Thank you for another great visit.
We’ve dined at Epicuran several times, and through a couple of owners (it was formerly the Park Cafe). The food continues to be good and reasonably priced. The wine list is not extensive, but offers a good selection and we’ve been happy with our choices. Service has always been good and the atmosphere is pleasant. The property is a attractive, older home in the heart of town. If you’re challenged with big, noisy restaurants then this is a good option, as the smaller dining rooms make it much easier to have a conversation. They also have a very nice outdoor dining area overlooking the park.
Great suggestions and service! Be back soon.
This was our first chance to experience the dinner menu and everything was excellent. A diverse selection of cuisines, expertly prepared, beautifully plated. I had the beet salad and curry shrimp with cheesy grits (delicious). My husband had the confit duck pasta. The restaurant is in a restored 100+ year old home and there is a large dining area outside with views over the park. Looking forward to frequent visits!
Great find! Food quality and presentation excellent. Historic house setting very nice. We will most definitely be back.
Lovely lunch for my Mom’s birthday! Great food and service!
i have been here three times in the last few weeks. One business lunch, business dinner and date night. All experiences were great, friendly service and wonderful food.
Would highly recommend this restaurant!
Highly recommend this place. Lunch was fantastic. Very nice ambiance, great food and very attentive service.
Great food and enjoyable atmosphere
My favorite local restaurant, chef and hostess! This is a gem in downtown Duluth, and I am fortunate enough to live nearby, an easy walk to it. The food is delicious, the service is superb and that is the case - every time!
Amazing dinner! Food was spectacular- not too noisy! Definitely recommend
Very good food made from fresh, local ingredients. Creatively prepared and beautifully presented. Great service!
We sat outside on the patio and ordered an appetizer first which consisted of pita and three different dipping sauces, The waiter was kind enough to let us know upfront that it would be filling so to eat light and bring the rest home so we did! The entree’s were amazing and they have specials each night. We are definitely making this restaurant one of our favorites to come back to!
Historic house on the Duluth square. The food is all freshly made by the chef/owner. It is a seasonal menu with daily specials and many other items to choose from on the menu. There is something for everyone. The chef will also work with you if you have a specific need. I so not have gluten or vegetarian needs so I didn't pay attention to this on the menu. Service was wonderful! We had a great evening and will be back.
Great outdoor sitting, went for a birthday dinner nothing disappointed! Fried green tomatoes for an appetizer and duck confit pasta for dinner! Tried a bit of everyone’s and it was all great! Plus very nice ambiance!
Please don’t give up on duck! My wife loves it and we live two blocks away!!
Or give me the recipe so
I can make it for her
There was a festival going on in the square outside the restaurant so we're guessing that is why it only had 2 people working as wait staff. It had a longer than normal wait times for food. Food was edible. Menu online is for dinner not for lunch so not as many items available. Asian chicken wrap was cooked heavily in sesame oil and didn't taste anymore Asian seasonings. Slaw wasn't crisp nor seasoned. Burger and fries were good. Staff was very friendly and attentive when they were able to get to your area.
Always good value AND great food. Staff extremely polite and attentive. The star of the show however is the sumptuous food!!! Creative menu presented in a beautiful way and very tasty.
I had a special request for preparation. Chef did a superb job. Great place for lunch or dinner with business associates or friends.
What a great place to have a quiet dinner and drinks in Duluth. Excellent service and fantastic specials. Cannot say enough about the Chef, presentation and quality of the food.
The service here is excellent. Food is good, ambiance is great. If you are going to an event at EOP Red Clay Theater, I would recommend dining here before the show.
We were late for a reservation and they were very accommodating. I had called, but we were still about 15 minutes behind.
The ambiance was great and the location was easy to get to. Very cute house and everyone was super friendly.
My only complaint was that the food took a VERY long time to get to the table. I realize there may have been a lot of tables that sat at once, but I was thankful we had a small appetizer, as the entrees were very delayed in delivery.
Would definitely come back and give it another try, though. The food was delicious and affordable for lunch, and the service was very friendly.
Went for lunch with colleagues. While the food was fantastic and server friendly, it took 50 minutes to get our lunch. I asked if perhaps there was a large party or something causing the delay (knowing the place was empty) and the response was “well we have a six top ahead of you”. 6?? Won’t go again when I’m on a schedule.
Enjoyed our evening there..
Service a little slow
Food was very good.
Everything was amazing including service. Having the chef ask how our meal was is a nice touch. We all enjoyed everything. Patio was amazing too!
Sweet discovery! Delicious food. Great service. Perfect for a quiet night out or to celebrate a special occasion
We had a lovely Easter brunch. The food was excellent but a bit pricey. Several choices for the appetizers. I do think the watermelon “salad”was too small. The main entree choices were great as well as the dessert choices. Our party included 2 children under two and we asked to sit outside. We had made reservations early in the week and they were very accommodating to us when we asked to be moved outside. The service was excellent. I would love to return again and order from the menu (it was not an option for this day).
My favourite restaurant. Great food, the Chef is aamazing and the ambience is unique.
My fiance and I ate there this past weekend, and we truly enjoyed our time. He had the steak special and I had the salmon, which was superb. We also indulged in the scallop appetizer. Our server was outstanding and overall atmosphere was lovely. Thank you for a great time!
What a hidden gem and a fortuitous find. Situated in a 100+ year old house with fresh unique artwork, excellent service and great food. Delicious and reasonable.
Met a person for a business lunch. Haven't been in since Park Cafe closed. Nice menu, good choices, GREAT service, very good food. Only downside was the kimchi in the shrimp taco was way too spicy and overwhelmed the dish. Server told me to expect medium low spicy and that was absolutely not the case. Tone it down to improve the dish. Otherwise, terrific meal and service. Will be back.
I enjoyed the cuisine so much when I was at Epicurean Cafe, that I suggested it to my best friend when it was time to celebrate her birthday.
Everything was just as good as the first time I was there; we tried a cup of the Coconut Curry Cauliflower soup and would have been content with a bowl of that for dinner!
Except then I would have missed out on the grilled pork chops...delicious. We'll be back!
One of our favorite restaurants in Duluth/Johns Creek area. Beautiful, historic house & great menu. Don’t miss the fried green tomato appetizer...it’s the bomb.
Father - Daughter evening
Elegant dining in a small town.
Love the food and the staff!
It was all very good and a great date night
Excellent staff, cocktails, menu and food selection. Cannot say enough about the appearance, taste and quality of the appetizers, salad and entrée.
