   Subpar at best. They didn’t advertise that it was brunch only on their website. Probably a reason they were the restaurant with open reservations at 12:30 in old town when everything else was full. Very limited menu for the brunch, the eves weren’t cooked hard like ordered. The bacon wasn’t cooked hardly at all, no jam for the toast. Won’t be back.

   This was my first time dining at epicure on king. I had been here in previous years when it was under a different name. The drinks menu is interesting. Lots of cocktail choices, but no descriptions to know what’s in many of the drinks. I opted for an Aperol spritz, which was perfect! There were several delicious looking options for appetizers and entrées, and I had a hard time deciding. We settled on the fried burrata for the appetizer, which was delicious. For the entree, I went with the shrimp penne vodka, which was decent. The description said it had a spicy sauce, but there was no spice to it as far as I could tell. It tasted fine, but it just lacked a depth of flavoring or seasoning. I had to sprinkle salt on it a couple of times, and I’m not a person who often adds salt to food. The service was amazing! Our orders came out quickly and everything was hot. Our server checked on us multiple times, always checking to see if we needed anything or wanted to order additional drinks. He sprinkled fresh grated Parmesan on our pasta dishes. He always approached with a smile. The ambience was quiet, which was a welcome contrast from the liveliness of some of the nearby establishments. I like that it’s a small intimate setting.

   Fantastic service at Epicure on King! The staff went above and beyond, even surprising the birthday girl with a complimentary cake. Delicious food and a warm, welcoming atmosphere—highly recommend!

   It started out bad with the warm white loaf bread and the oil with dried herbs that were so dry it was like eating mowed grass. My husband ordered chicken alfredo and got spaghetti noodles in melted butter, NO CREAM SAUCE! Which is what alfredo sauce is. I had baked lasagna and the lasagna noodles were way over cooked. As my husband said “the water was good” we will not go back.

   The best eggplant parmigiana I have EVER had in my life. That alone will have me go back to Epicure on King in a heartbeat.

    Nice intimate environment. Not like some of the noisy large restaurants in Old Town. The food and drink are very good. This is a nice stop along King Street
