EPIC Steak Ratings and Reviews
We took 8 people to dinner after asking some local dignitaries which steakhouse was San Francisco's best. They all recommended Epic Steak and we were not disappointed. We all had different steaks and each of us loved them. They came out perfectly cooked as per our orders. The side dishes were wonderful, as was the wine. Steaks just can't get any better!
Très bonne table avec des prix à la hauteur de la qualité comme d habitude à sf. Le 6oz filet suffit largement pour un plat principale ($46). La portion de 28oz est carement énorme (900gr) . La vue le soir est top et le service très pro et convuvial . A recommander ! Pas de parking attenant mais le quartier regorge de places dispo le soir.
Overall, a very nice experience. The food was tasty... it was well seasoned and served hot (I find that temperature is often a problem for even the finest restaurants).
However, I have a few recommendations to make the dining experience an outstanding one:
1) Butter warmers needed! No "reputable" restaurant that serves lobster should operate w/o them. Hot butter is a necessity to fully enjoy a lobster experience;
2) Provide enough portions of the side servings to share... We ordered the Julia Childs potatoes. While they were delicious, the serving size was just enough for one (I am not a huge eater, but thank goodness my hubby did not want more than a small spoonful);
3) Add blue cheese dressing to your list of options. The crumbles are nice, but dressing would be the "icing on the cake;" and finally,
4) Please ensure that your cocktails are served more than 3/4 full. The drinks are fairly pricey (I had the cucumber cocktail which was delicious); however, I felt a bit "shortchanged" due to the amount of open space that existed between my drinks and the top of the glasses they were served in.
The ambience was very good, with great views of the bay bridge. The service was very good from the bus boy, server, hostesses. Would definitely recommend if your going on a romantic date. The food was 3/5 for a top of the line steak house. Your not paying for great food but for great views and service.
Food and service as good as I remembered from 2013.....My only compliant is that we were seated in the outdoor lounge which had been enclosed with plastic sheeting and heating lamps. Main restaurant much better experience. Views of the Bay Bridge were wonderful.
We arrived 5 minutes early for our 7:45 reservation but had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Our entree, the steak, came out at the same time as our salad and of course the server sent it back until we were finished with the salad. He brought back the same steak, which was no longer medium rare so we had to send it back, again. They left the sides at the table which were no longer hot by the time the steak came back. That was on us, we could have sent those back too. There were lots of apologies and our server was great but that's it. Now we can say we've been there and won't return. If I'm paying that much for a steak (which was delicious) there shouldn't be any problems.
My husband and i started at the bar for a cocktail before dinner and all the bartenders were very attentive and made some good drinks. When we went downstairs to be seated for our reservation they showed us our table options and we ended up with a very nice table with a great view! Dinner was amazing and so was the service.
The best steak I have ever had! Cooked to perfection! The carrots were amazing, the au gratin potatoes were delicious but over salted unfortunately. Our server was wonderful, attentive but not overbearing. Very enjoyable evening. Perfect location to see the bridge lights. A wonderful surprise to find this place!
WE celebrated a birthday dinner. The staff was excellent. We had a party of five and everyone enjoyed the food. I am a wine collector and the wine list was varied and contained several wonderful choices. If you are looking for a dinning experience that will not disappoint EPIC Steak is a superber restaurant.
First time at Epic for lunch and it was a true Delight. It was the best meal I've had in recent memory. We had the most succulent fresh oysters, followed by an absolutely fabulous trout entree-truly delicious. Service was first-rate. Ambience was wonderful and noise level allowed for great conversation and of course the View was fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Amazing time at EPIC. we usually dine at the sister restaurant, Waterbar. took the plunge and we were delighted. We started with the Platter and a dozen oysters as a shared dish. then onto appetizers and the entrees. we devoured the Steak, gorged on the potatoes and sides. overall, our meal was a delight. our server was awesome.
Went here for our Wedding Anniversary and I had noted this on the reservation. Upon arrival they offered us the choice of either dining inside or outside. I'm not always a fan of outside dining, but the hostess offered to show us both tables so I could decide which I found very helpful. As it turned out the patio table was quite nice and heated with a beautiful view of the Bay Bridge. The food was good. I have food allergies and also I don't eat steak but I still had a good meal. The wait staff was very accommodating of my food allergy and double checked with me on all the ingredients of my meal. My husband had the fillet which he ordered medium well but it was actually a little closer to well done. He said it was still good and was pleased that he could get chimichurri sauce on the side, which is a favorite of his. The wine list had a few labels I recognized and the prices seemed average for this type of restaurant. Overall it was a memorable dining experience and I would recommend it.
