Our dinner at Epic was great. Our steaks were cooked just right and sides were wonderful...especially Julia Child's potatoes. View of Bay Bridge from our table was beautiful. I recommend.
Our third visit and it was just as great as the first two times we went.
My husband had never been here so I decided to take him as part of our staycation this weekend. I got the 6-ounce filet mignon and we shared the mushrooms and Julia’s potatoes as sides. My husband got the ribeye and unfortunately he was very underwhelmed. Unlike my filet mignon, his meat had no char on it he wishes he would’ve sent it back. It was pretty much all fat and after spending $200 for this lunch in this wonderful restaurant, he was not happy. The service was stellar and the ambience was wonderful. With that said, we will likely not return. Disappointing after I built it up.
No problem getting a reservation during COVID-19 week. I had aged ribeye which was delicious. My guests had filets which they said were excellent.
Sadly our steaks were all overcooked. We were pressed for time, headed to a show, so didn’t send them back.
Above par service and beautiful crab salad
Lovely place to have a great dinner. The excellent foods and service are always beyond the expectation.
BEST MEAL OF MY LIFE!
All good. Great New York Steak
Delicious lunch overlooking the bridge. We had a gluten free eater and the chef made many special accommodations, especially with dessert. And our waiter was OUTSTANDING. Thank you to Thomas!
We took our daughter to Epic for a special dinner during her recent visit. We were left underwhelmed by the overall experience. The views are amazing! The service was fine. The steaks were good but we had issues with other plates. The Caesar Salad that I ordered was soggy and over-dressed. The actual romaine had brown ends and laid flat with little crunch. This salad would never have made it out of the kitchen in most restaurants. The chocolate tart wasn’t at all special. While we had a lovely time, it was in spite of the extremely loud dining room and sub-par sides.
Excellent service, Lowell, our server was the best! Food was excellent as well. Just a perfect evening! We will return every time we are visiting SF!
The name, "EPIC", matches the service, experience, food and atmosphere. We celebrated our 30th Anniversary at EPIC with a complete experience that can only be described as EPIC! We were pleasantly greeted and seated with a hand-written anniversary card! The food was outstanding with deliberate, practiced and polished dish after dish. Standing from the appetizer to salad, steak, sides and finishing with French Press coffee and personalized dessert completed our EPIC 30th anniversary dinner!
My wife and I dined here on our first trip to SF and our 20th anniversary. Coming from the NY/NJ area are accustomed to great steak dinners in NYC and thought this would be similar. Unfortunately, we were pretty let down by the $195 dinner for two special...the filet was overcooked and the lobster subpar at best. For an expensive meal there was little to no value here.
Took fully care to the message ahead in regards to seating and celebratory reason of the visit. Also surprised with some birthday specials before the dinner and during dessert.
Was a lovely little dinner except for the very rowdy crowd next to us. Kinda put a damper on the night but dinner was excellent.
Our server was amazing and the food was delicious!
Its' simply epic to enjoy weekend brunch at EPIC on the patio - no better view in my City by the Bay and no better Staff. Everybody is engaging and definitely they are pros in their field. EPIC creates an epic experience!
Let me start with the positive first. Our waitress was fenomenal, she was very attentive and always checking up on us. We got seated by a window so that we could enjoy the view of the bridge. We were there to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary. I’m her food recommendations including drinks and desert were good. I ordered the salmon dish my wife ordered the seafood platter.
My food was delicious even though I’m not a seafood person. I ordered the Granada made with tequila and it was so good I ordered a second one and the second one the bartender put some extra tequila in it which was a major bonus.
My wife’s dish was ok for the most part. At $105.00 you would expect the food to be fresh and top notch... not so much. It was a generous portion of jumbo shrimp, oysters, a lobster and other seafood. Her complaint was that the lobster was not fresh. For this kind of money they need to be serving fresh seafood and not something frozen.
We read some reviews that stated business semi casual and let me just tell you don’t bother because we saw people there wearing jeans and hats.
Overall it was ok but for a $300.00 bill I think they could do better. Also not too much food variety.
Would recommend getting the Julia Child’s potatoes!
Enjoying everything about it. Food, service, choices, etc.
Steak was overcooked.
The service was amazing..they were so nice..we were there for my boyfriend’s birthday..and they gave us a nice view table..
Food was amazing and the outside seating area perfect for the sunny warm afternoon.
This was my first time at EPIC Steak and everything from the moment we walked in was fantastic.
But I wish we would be sit in a better place
I'm a pretty regular here, and made my reservation in Open Table, asking for the main room. I was originally seated in the annex, and asked the hostess to move, she was great, apologetic and moved me to the ideal table. Thank you. The server was polite, but unattentive. Asked use if we wanted bread, and never came. Order was taken perfectly, but never came by to see if we were doing o.k., maybe he was intimidated by our ask to move to his area. Wine list needs updating. Epic is Epic. The location is great, the chef is great, but the last 5 times here, have been dissappointing in service. I bring a lot of out of towners here because of what this "once was" but there is so much competition for a great place in SF, they should re-evaluate the experience.
It was my 50th and my sis-in-law’s 40th and they made us feel so special! The card was a nice touch!! Food was “EPIC”
The food, service, and view were great! We sat next to the window viewing the bridge as we enjoyed eating a medium-rare steak and sea bass.
The atmosphere is great. The view is outstanding. The drinks are well made. The kitchen sometimes does not bring the steak out cooked the way you requested.
Our waiter Paul was absolutely great! The NY steak was undercooked and very tough. The same can be said about the calamari, although it must be said that the flavor was excellent on all of our dishes.
Great food, superb service and a breathtaking view from the outside patio for lunch. I would recommend the restaurant without reservation.
awesome view and lovely staff. this place has variety of option of cocktails and their steak is one of the best in the city!
The service was outstanding and the food was interesting. We ordered our steaks med rare. They came out almost raw. It was hard to tell because the lighting was dark. The sorbet for desert was citrus and very citrus like biting into a lemon. And personally I don’t like when a place charges for bread.
Great food, wine, service. Great views. One of my favorite spots.
Upscale urban ambiance with a beautiful view of the Bay Bridge from almost any seat. The service was very capable and knowledgeable. The food was absolutely delicious. We both got the All In deal which included a wedge salad, 6 oz. filet mignon, side and dessert. Unlike many combos, you can choose any side and dessert instead of being restricted to one or two. I like wedge salads and was expecting a typical one but was pleasantly surprised. With prosciutto instead of bacon and a variety of seeds and grape tomatoes added, it was the perfect combo of taste and texture. I will compare all future wedge salads to this one and they will likely fall short. The filet was tender with a lovely flavor. We also tried the various salts on the table. Of the sides, we liked the airport gratin potatoes with gruyere best. The autumn squash was nice but could have been better with more spice. Both the lime cheesecake with rhubarb ice cream and the chocolate tart were sublime. There was a small error with our bill which was quickly taken care of. Servings were very generous and given the cost of the deal, it was a nice value. A lovely Valentine’s Day experience.
I’m quite disappointed at my husband’s steak. He asked for Medium but it was served rare. We’re surprised to hear that they charged for bread which is usually complimentary even at the most expensive steakhouse.
Four of us had a birthday celebration. We had a great table and the food was amazing. Our server, Dana, was great and attentive. A fun time was had by all. Thank you so much.
