Dinner was great. My problem was with the hostess. We showed up 15 minutes late (7:30 reservation- got there 7:45) showed up sorry we’re 15 minutes late - hostess said that’s ok we’re running late too (dining room is half empty). I said ok we’ll go to the bar will you come get us when our table is ready. Hostess said yes. 45 minutes later (8:30) go to the hostess asking if our table was ready?! She said they gave to someone else who they thought was us. Again restaurant was half empty and no one tried to find us...ultimately admitted they forgot about us. Food great we sat at the bar for dinner - bartenders were great - hostess (two of them were there ) get the one star, two hostesses can’t handle a half full restaurant?! Maybe you should pass some money you pay them to reduce your prices
Great location open to the waterfront path along Embarcadero, Epic Steak has a heated patio looking over the Bay Bridge, allowing for people-watching, especially at lunchtime. An expensive lunch certainly, but well worth it. My Steak Tartare had a nice zip to it, my 6oz filet steak was cooked perfectly - and I liked the smoky/tomatoey Epic Sauce a lot - and the cheesecake had a generous helping of chocolate fudge sauce. Service was right-paced and good. This has gone straight onto my list of places to eat next time I'm in San Francisco. I recommend taking a coat just in case it's windy.
Absolutely fabulous! Personnel made us feel like old friends, chef made fantastic dinner and wine selections made everything even better. A must to visit spot
We received excellent service but I have a feeling some of it was due to the company we were with-pull a lot of clout. I wil give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt that even with that we would have still received good care. The food was good and that night the sky was crystal clear for beautiful views of the bridge.
My Mom and I came here on our first visit to San Francisco, hoping to top off our trip with a superb meal in an ambient location. We weren't disappointed. The servers were amiable, helpful, and attentive without being overbearing. The food was good. The Julia Child potatoes were decadent. The view of the bay was the perfect backdrop. We both really enjoyed it and hope to come back in the future.
We gave Epic a mixed review. Terrific ambiance, valet parking on the Embarcadero (couldn't be easier, but pricey at $20 before the tip) and an unbeatable view of the Bay Bridge. Sit outside no matter what, but bring a coat or jacket just in case. The other side is the food. We were there for brunch. We both had the crab frittata and it was awful. Very little crab and very little taste. We ordered the cheddar biscuits--$11, and there was only one, smaller than a hamburger bun! We pointed it out to our very nice and attentive waiter and he got us another one--presumably there should have been two. The good news were the shrimp fritters--delicious. Brunch is tough because there is not much room for creativity, so I'll give it that. We intend to come back one evening and try dinner because the view is spectacular. Perhaps we'll be pleasantly surprised.
I love the waterfront location. Great for a special occasion.
Had an Amazing time celebrating our 17yr Anniversary. Food was Amazing, our waiter Shaun was great and the rest of the staff was wonderful and accommodating. Pricey so I was glad the food was so delicious. Definitely will drive down from Santa Rosa to go back again!
It was the most amazing experience in dining out that we’ve had in a long time. My moms birthday was recognized from the minute she walked in until she left. It made the hugest difference in our experience. Not only does this restaurant have a great view but also great food and service to go along with it. Usually the two are hard to find together. This is a restaurant that you’ll spend a lot of money but I will tell you, every penny was worth it. Thank you to the amazing staff and especially Jen who made our night.
Fabulous view and lovely evening. Food was very good, wine choices were great too!
Service was amazing! Great recommendations and excellent food.
Nice atmosphere with good services! Best view to the Bay Bridge!
Phenomenal restaurant. Great staff, good food, and outstanding atmosphere
Very poor experience. Service was bad, food was not cooked well even after sending it back.
Outstanding. Sat on the patio shared almost every item on the menu.
Really nice place to eat, with a great location and water views. The menu was somewhat limited, which was a downside for me, and very pricey.
Great food! Great location. We were seated on the patio, and it was absolutely amazing. And the food was delicious. I had the 6oz filet mignon, cooked medium, and it was perfect. The rock shrimp fritters were a great starter! Highly recommend!
My husband and I went here while visiting San Francisco for the first time and LOVED it. The atmosphere was so great and the food was better! We walked around the pier before dinner, right around sunset and then went inside greeted by super friendly staff. Our waitress was phenomenal and the manager was very attentive and seemed genuinely interested in our visit.
I would highly reccomend this restaurant!
This is our third trip to Epic. They've never disappointed us...food, service, comfort!!!
Great Food / View etc. I will be back.
Arrival on time for reservation. Wait for our table for 35 minutes. Host and Maitre D' apologized for waiting (offering drinks while waiting) Maitre D' offered all three of us appetizers.
The service is great. We satisfied with all our dishes.
One drawback is 5% added on top of the bill for "SF Health Mandate"
I can't say enough great things about my experience here. I was in town for business and a bartender at the hotel I was staying at recommended this place. I made a reservation and when I arrived I was greeted with a warm smile and attention was paid to getting me sat quickly. The entire staff, David and Lauren the managers, Deirdre my server, the knowledgeable sommelier, the backwaiters, and people who brought the food to my table, all were amazing. Hospitality at its finest. And the food was also on par. Outstanding. The caesar salad had just the exact amount of dressing and the dressing was delicious. The dry-aged ribeye was seasoned and cooked perfectly. Potatoes and asparagus were wonderful. The presentation of the all the dishes was exquisite and clean. Not sloppy at all. Had a great great time and will definitely be back. Thanks again.
Delicious food, beautiful views and outstanding service. Our server was top rate!
Had an absolutely wonderful birthday dinner! Everyone was so thoughtful & nice. My dinner was fabulous and the “birthday cupcake” was a fun surprise. Will definitely return for steak dinners in the future!
Amazing experience! Went for my birthday dinner and the food was amazing, really good service, and such a nice view!
It's on the expensive side but the menu is spectacular. The service is fantastic.
Wonderful time and enjoyed every aspect of our dinner! Highly recommend! Great view and ambience! Food was delicious!
We have been to Epic Steakhouse several times before and have had exceptional food.
We went with family after a Giant's game on Saturday and we all thought the steaks were very salty and the little potato croquettes on my plate were inedible. I'm not sure what was going on with their chefs-- but we won't be back for a long time! The view is incredible but the food is pricey and not worth it if we're not satisfied.
Great food in a wonderful setting! Good for any special occasion!
Overall the food quality was good. I did think that the prices were a few dollars high than normal and I thought at least they were provide a dessert for my 30th birthday like other high end restaurants do. They asked me who’s birthday it was upon getting there and I said it was mine. that was the extent of the birthday occasion. Wish they would have had Brussels sprouts also.
Great food, great service and an awesome view. Very nice place for dinner will definitely be going back.
The service and hostess was awesome, had to return my steak $106 worth back to be cooked the way I wanted it, but worth it. Friendly, our kids enjoyed it, right by the waterfront - you need to make reservations - it gets busy.
Awesome view, food and service. Everything was fabulous. Can’t wait to go back.
Nice steakhouse but the menu was nothing special. Good for business meals and had a decent wine list but nothing spectacular. Service was very friendly but a bit slow at times. My steak was a little overdone but nothing worth starting a fuss over. Sides were very good including the Julie Child potatoes.
Great staff great food what else is there
Amazing views and ambiance!
Very nice evening, good food and excellent service. The views of the Bay bridge are amazing!
Brian Walsh and his team do an amazing job.
Fabulous! The wait staff is well trained and cordial.
