All good. Great steak and appetizers. Very nice atmosphere. Our server. Rick and the staff were very attentive and we had an excellent meal. Thank you.
the steak was too tough.. even if it was medium rare...
It was our first time but we love all about it. The food, the scenery and everything.
Great view and service. Food was very good. I would definitely return and highly recommend.
My lady and I were disappointed in the 14oz ribeye steak. We got it medium. It was very bland and not flavorful. Ate half of it bc I was hungry . $300 tab was not super happy . Service was great waiter was great but the steaks and Mac and cheese were a disappointment.
Excellent food and drinks with a great wine list. I had the petit fillet and my husband had the halibut. Both were spectacular. And the view of the bay was really lovely.
Wonderful food and ambiance!!
Ordered the wagu they came out with the wrong order the first time and then when the order came out right the temp was wrong
Very nice place with exceptional views. Food was great & The experience was awesome, no complaints
Great spot - one of our favorite neighborhood places for great food in a beautiful location. Thanks!
Celebration of new job.
All the staff went above and beyond for us with the pairings and suggestions.
Service and food was great! Will for sure be back.
Our server Deedra was the best. Thank you
I had the small Japanese Wagyu ... very very good, quite tender, and cooked perfectly.
My wife had a New York steak ... also cooked to perfection (both were medium rare).
My starter was Lobster Bisque ... very nice.
The desserts were somewhat chocolate deficient, choice-wise, but our excellent waiter (tomas? from poland) helped and I ended up with house-made eggnog ice cream and vanilla icecream which were quite good. My wife had a coconut banana concoction of some kind ... except for the coconut cake (on the bottom ... I dislike coconut) it was excellent.
Service, view, food choice was excellent. I also had a very pleasant conversation with the manager (?) after dinner, about Wagyu vs. Kobe. He was quite knowledgeable.
We arrived 5 mins before our reservation time and the hostess told us to wait. After she lets 5 other tables in she realizes she forgot about us... I asked for one of their tables with a great view, but instead sat beside a building column... just that first experience with the hostess forgetting about the first customers that walked in threw the whole dinner off... other than that the food was great and a little pricey for the service you get. I don’t think we’ll be coming back due to their first impressions.
The best crab loui I have ever eaten! The skirt steak with the sauces melted in our mouths! Service was outstanding!!!! Atmosphere in the covered patio was beautiful!
food was good compared to other restaurants in America, but it also costs much more, you spend at least $ 150 per person for one course and a glass of wine
Everything was perfect!! So good and loved the bridge in the window!
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Food is pricey, but I get that you’re paying for the view and the quality of the dishes. Would def recommend!
Still going strong after all these years!
The steak / ribeye was more gristle than expected. The pork chop came out with too much sauce to enjoy the meat flavor. And same with the wedge that had more extras and covered up what at least some like in a wedge, great service and great wine list.
My husband and I go to Epic every year for our anniversary and it’s EPIC!! We absolutely love this restaurant. The food is phenomenal and the service is great! Well also go throughout the year for work dinners and we still receive the same excellent service regardless if it’s a special occasion or not. Cannot recommend this place enough!
I'd planned a surprise gathering for a friend's 60th. Three of us were there early, so we went to the bar area. Limited seating, but timing was good as a couple of folks left about 5 minutes after we arrived. We each had a drink before our 6pm reservation. Two of the four surprise guests arrived before we made our way to the table. The last two arrived shortly after. Friend was wonderfully surprised. Yay!
Now on to the food. We started the shellfish indulgence platter appetizer ($AQ), consisting of crab, lobster, shrimp, oysters and ceviche. It includes sauces for each of the items, and it was all delicious! We also ordered the bread & butter ($6), which came with a flight of two butters and a delicious olive oil.
I had the wedge, which was the best I’ve had. The dressing had a smoothness to it I’ve not had with other wedge salads. And they replaced the usual bacon with prosciutto, and added seeds and nuts, which made it stand out. Others had the EPIC Caesar (good, but nothing special), the mushroom risotto (was delicious - we also shared a side order with the table), the lobster bisque (she cleaned her bowl), and the bruschetta (outstanding!).
For our mains, the birthday gal and I shared the porterhouse (definitely enough for 2), married couple shared the cote de boeuf (also enough for 2), another had the ribeye, another the salmon, and the 7th just had sides as she’s a vegetarian. Everyone was very satisfied with their mains. On the side we had spatzle gratin (basically mac & cheese), “Julia Child’s” potatoes, squash, the risotto, & brussels sprouts. Other than the sprouts (not bad, just not special), there was nothing left on the plates.
Dessert. We were all full, but we wanted to at least try a couple of items. So the 7 of us shared a baked Alaska and the winter citrus cake. I’d never had a baked Alaska; it was delicious! We all enjoyed it. The birthday gal particularly enjoyed the winter cake.
We would all go again.
Best rib-eye steak I have ever eating. Tender, wonderful flavor. Service was exceptional. We are very slow eaters, we like to take our time to enjoy quality food, never felt rushed, even though staff was very attentive. My only complaint would be the noise level. I think this was due to the construction of the building, and many happy patrons talking and enjoying. The view was exceptionally beautiful with panoramas of the water and bay bridge.
Shared porterhouse steak, cooked to perfection (charred rare). Good portions on sides, bread so moist and buttery. Excellent wine selection. Superb service. Will definely return.
The steak has no flavor., we sat and waited for service for twenty minutes. Our bill was $490 for four and we’ve eaten better for way less.
It was wonderful! Booked for my husband's birthday. Service and food was great!
My husband and I took two weightlifters to dinner and they LOVED the food and were full when they left!
Food was horrible, service was awful and WAY over priced.
I rarely review restaurants, but do use other ratings. Unfortuantely, this is a must.
-Visited last Saturday, 4 of us. We spent with tip @ $400.00
- The Ribeye's were void of taste and nearly 1/3 of the meat was fat, not edible
- Seabass was dry and like paper. I've eating Seabass all over the world, this is possibly the worst
- Mushroom dish was also tasteless, not sure what's going on in the kitchen, but certainly this was not expected in a 4-star restaurant
- View of bridge and lights was a plus along with good service, otherwise all else was a bust!
We visit SF often and after this experience, will not be returning to Epic. Your better choice is Morton's!
Amazing food, great service and beautiful view !
Food was wonderful and the waitress was amazing. Very friendly and upbeat!!
The ambiance and atmosphere is wonderful almost magical with the glowing bay bridge as the background. The service was excellent. The food was average and actually disappointing. My husband and son asked for medium rare steaks and it came out still mooing. My husband ordered a side of sautéed mushrooms and they placed it all over his NY steak which overpowered the beef flavor in not a good way. I ordered the Sea bass which had a nice char on the outside but was just ok. I did not like the flavor of the celery purée that was all over the plate. We decided to skip dessert.
Beautiful restaurant with amazing views. Steaks I must say are pretty average. I’ve had better at Lolinda for example.
The service was fantastic, everyone was very nice. Shame about the steaks.
We were celebrating our birthdays and anniversary. We were looking forward to this meal.
We got our steaks. The filet Mignon was the wrong size ordered and was well done, not rare.
The ribeye was rare not medium done.
The side dish sweet potatoes was cold. We got up and left.
This was most disappointing as we were out to have a grand celebration.
The steaks were not high quality and they could not cook one well done. I like mine medium but my date was very clear: well done. 3 bloody steaks on her plate and we finally gave up. So much for my carefully planned date night in the city.
They apologized and gave her one to go, that they promised would be well done. Check the photo- a charred hockey puck - unbelievable!!
Great views ~ just very very loud
