Built in 1917, the historic building now home to our Santa Monica restaurant was once a transfer station for the narrow-gauge Red Car line, Los Angeles' first mass transit system. It was later the repair house for the world-famous Pacific Ocean Park, home to the oldest wooden roller coaster west of the Mississippi. These days, we're still a stone's throw from Venice Beach, heart of where L.A. goes to play -- and eat. Also just a few blocks from the waterfront, our sister restaurant in Santa Barbara operates in a century-old brick building originally home to an industrial linen service for seaside hotels. While the Douglas fir floors, soaring ceilings, and glassed cupola have always been features of this historic structure, the sweeping arches facing State Street were added after much of the building crumbled during the 1925 Santa Barbara earthquake.

Went for the Lobster dinner special and found the restaurant pleasant but with a very casual attitude.
The hostess reminded us that the price of the special had increased and then when the waitress approached the table she gave the same warning. Apparent that $5 increase has caused them trouble.
The service was polite and in a short time the meal was delivered. Lobster has a bit overcooked and tough but had a good flavor. The sides were adequate which is pretty much descriptive of the entire meal experience
No bad but not worth doing again.

This has been my favorite restaurant for years. Always great food and great service. Unfortunately, they stopped carrying my favorite lobster tail on the menu, which was the primary reason I even drive to Santa Monica to go to this restaurant. I will probably be back there at some point, but definitely not as often as I used to. Guess the good things never stay the same :(

We eat here with our grandchildren fairly often. Unfortunately, our experience on March 17, 2019 was unacceptable. The food took 45 minutes to be delivered to our table after ordering and my wife's fish was undercooked. The replacement entree did not arrive until we were ready to leave. We had it boxed up and took it home. The server was excellent and apologized for the kitchen problems, but I don't know whether we will return soon.

Overall was a nice meal, good attentive service despite busy time and great ambiance. The swordfish (blackened) tasted fresh and moist, caesar salad was good, shrimp kabob was good albeit a bit overcooked (almost all restaurants do this). Looking forward to going back

Our favorite seafood restaurant. Been coming here for a few years. Came for lunch today. The seafood platter is delicious with sweet potato fries. Best margarita drinks. Our waitress, Summer was friendly, with a beautiful smile, EXCELLENT customer service. We will keep coming back.

A friend introduced me to Enterprise Fish Co. a few years ago and I have been a fan ever since. This visit did not disappoint. They have the best Clam Chowder and Lobster Bisque. I ordered Halibut and it was exceptional as well as the sides. Always a treat coming here.

I had the Dover sole . It was one side of what we call a slip sole ( that’s a sole fish that is smaller than Dover sole , but is often wrongly sold as Dover sole in restaurant s) it was nice , but a correct description on the menu should have explained the it would be a half filet , off the bone . Personally , I believe sole should always be served on the bone and head included.

We arrived 45 early for the lobster, which the hostess informed us that the Group-on I had acquired would not be honored for it, so we switched for their dinner menu. Nothing spectacular, just popular seafood made for the masses. Nothing original about it, however very optimistic about a new place to try. Waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu, but very busy with other tables. Food was taking a while to arrive, so I got up in search of our waiter, and I found him by the grill with his phone filming how the meals were being cooked. I got back at our table, and waited about another 10-12 minutes until our food arrived. I immediately saw that this wasn't going to be enough, so I searched for him again, of course nowhere to be found. I asked for the check and received that lightning fast. Overall, service was decent, and the food was overpriced and mediocre. I unfortunately won't be visiting Enterprise Fish Co again, as there are a lot of great restaurants near by with better quality food for the same price, without the use of a Group-on.

We've enjoying coming to EFC for many, many years, and we still will come back. While I understand they will be VERY busy on the "Lobster Special" nights, we were very rushed through our meal. We asked our waiter to hold up bringing the main course, as we wanted to enjoy the bottle of wine we ordered, and to not rush the first course. We'd barely had a few sips when our salad and soups came out. Then, when we'd barely put our spoons/forks down from the salad and soup, our main dish was being served. Our waiter, though very nice, just gave us an "Oops! My bad!" kind of response. Not cool.

We will still come back, as we really like this place; I hope the next time we won't be rushed through our meal.

Make sure to visit on Monday or Tuesday night when the lobster special is on. You get a 2 pound lobster plus two sides for about 40 bucks. The lobster was delicious and cooked perfectly, and I recommend the potatoes Romano. Our server was pleasant and we enjoyed the evening.

Been here several times for dinner and have ordered the sole several times. Did so at lunch and was very disappointed. Fish was mushy. Over cooked perhaps? A leftover from the night before? I mentioned to server. She apologized appropriately, however for me it was too late into the meal to sub out.

So although I likely will return for dinner, I might not for lunch.

Two main entree items were not available!
Had called earlier to verify availability.
Long wait for drink order. Long wait for food order. Full house, obviously understaffed, and although the food was fine, the overall experience proved lacking.

Fabulous crab dinners had by both of us! The small pieces of crab legs chopped to finger-eating size were delicious and interesting in their presentation. The crab Louie was the best in the city, complete with red beets and cucumbers on the side with a delicious Thousand Island dressing.
Once again, the Enterprise Fish Co. didn't disappoint. Just causing us to look forward to our next visit.

An excellent experience. We had a reservation and our table was ready right on time. The waiter was friendly and professional. We went there for the lobster special that they have on Monday and Tuesday and it was clearly worth the money. Two in our party had the two pound steamed lobster which, by the way they split to make it easier to eat. It came with potato and one person chose asparagus which they said was excellent. I started with the lobster bisque which was excellent although it comes with an oversize puff pastry on top that is much too large. I also had the halibut with spicy tomato fondue. It was delicious. I was concerned about the fondue being too spicy but, it wasn't at all. For dessert I had the cheesecake. I found it excellent also. Cheesecake is made in different ways so, if you don't like the classic recipe that is a little less creamy and a little more like cake, you may not like this. The other desserts ordered were also excellent. There are plenty of choices in LA but, if you want seafood that is a cut above with great service at a reasonable price this is the place to go. Atmosphere is okay but, not out of the ordinary.
