Our menu is based on classic dishes that we experienced in people"s homes in Italy. Some are family recipes and others we learned by cooking with friends back home in Roma.
This menu is structured for either a classic or family style "tasting" dining experience, depending on what mood you're in! No matter which way you dine we do encourage you to share and to try each other's dishes.
I hope you enjoy the simple ingredient combinations and taste the spirit of Rome in Chicago. Always remember that if you've had something here before and you don't see it on the menu, just ask. If we can make it for you we will.

We wanted to have a somewhat private conversation. Sometimes that's not possible in a restaurant. For the first 2/3rds of our time there, we were in a 2-top table with a wall to one side and an empty 2-top table next to us. Ahhh, privacy. But even when another couple was seated next to us, both couples had their conversations without intruding or eavesdropping on the other. It's a small restaurant, with a very nice quiet atmosphere.
The food was really good, but the service was inattentive and amateurish. Wine by the glass was the shortest pour I’ve ever seen. I bet they are getting eight or nine glasses to a bottle.
The food is truly outstanding. We loved the special brussel sprouts in white wine sauce. All of us ordered pasta and it was amazing.
Great date place! Love the owner and have always had a great experience here! Good for all occasions
LOVED this hidden gem of a place! food was amazing. Owner was charming. Bartender was excellent. Going back in a week!
Enoteca Roma is one of the best restaurants in the city. Cannot get enough of the gnocchi, polenta and bruschetta flight. Great service, cute place--seriously checks all the boxes.
Delicious Italian food for a reasonable price with a neighborhood vibe.
We have been here a handful of time, everytime gets better! The 5 piece bruschetta is amazing! Wish it was 10 piece 🤣 Get the polenta with mushrooms and sausage. Service is always top notch.
We went to Enoteca Roma after Christmas Eve Mass nearby. From the previous reviews, I was expecting something phenomenal. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t nearly as good as I was expecting. The food was fresh and good but the range of taste was fairly limited. The bar for anything other than wine was ridiculous. I wanted a vodka martini but all I was able to have was a very weak screwdriver. It was small and quiet, which was nice, and the service was good, but I wouldn’t go back.
Fantastic authentic Italian food. I had the polenta with venison ragu - it was just perfect!
We sat in the back dining area, nice and quiet so we could actually hear each other. Overall the food was very good, especially the homemade spinach papardelle with mushroom and truffle butter! Great service. Will be back!
Wonderful, cute little italian restaurant with an amazing variety of dishes
Awesome always!! Great food and wine.**
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Beet salad was refreshing. The table loved the calamari. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
Great food! Great service that was charming, warm & hospitable! Since we were celebrating two birthdays, she brought us two desserts! Very nice experience!
Although the food was fine it wasn't anything above average for our party of five. In addition, the service was slow and somewhat disinterested & removed -- even though the dishes came out in a timely fashion, after we finally ordered. The food was filling however unremarkable.
Love this place!!! Food, drinks and service all top notch!!
Lately the portions are smaller, noticeably smaller so the value here has gone down. They do not have enough help so service is slow. Cocktails are skimpy and not worth $12. Used to be a great place but not so much anymore.
The food was fine but nothing was really great.
We loved our meal. The food and the service were excellent. The restaurant was not very busy so conversation was easy. It’s definitely a place we will go back to.
Lights are too bright in the dining room that doesn’t have the bar.
I got a birthday cake which was delicious!
So good! I have risotto with seefood, amazing! Ambient was so nice 10
Backyard area is a great place to have dinner at night.
I was looking for an off-the-beaten-path spot to bring my girlfriend for our 2 year anniversary. This was the place I stumbled upon. The back patio is perfect for setting a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. The wine was stellar. The food was superb. The service was exceptional. An outstanding spot for any occasion.
Food was outstanding, patio is fantastic! Great service.
Amazing food and cute back patio. If you want good Italian this is the place to go.
Amazing as always!
Enoteca Roma continues to be my favorite restaurant in Chicago. I've been maybe 12 times over the last 6-7 years and the quality of the food is consistent and delicious and the staff always makes us comfortable there. Don't miss the polenta and hand-made pastas, in particular the Giovanna, and trust your server to recommend on any dishes you're debating. The Mangia Mangia is also the best value in the city for a family/group meal and the variety is fantastic. I cannot recommend Enoteca Roma enough!
Have been going there for years. Food is wonderful and it’s rarely crowded. It’s a gem.
Fantastic experience, great authentic Italian food. I know most will say every "italian" place is authentic, but Enoteca Roma was clearly one of the more authentic Italian places that I have seen in awhile. Just having come back from Italy, this reminded me of several of the restaurants there. Specials were outstanding. Definitely recommend.
Great people great food
I not only would recommend Enoteca Roma to a friend, I have brought friends to the restaurant on this and other occasions. In my view, it is the best Italian restaurant in Chicago!
What a hidden gem! First time in Chicago and so lucky we found this wonderful restaurant! It’s authentic Italian cuisine, the service was great and super welcoming! Will be back!
The food is AMAZING and the back patio is the best!
Food, service, value. Our server was outstanding. The food was authentic, the food and wine were reasonably priced.
The patio added to the experience.
This was the second time we have been here and it was even better! We brought another couple and they loved it too! This time I had the carrot gnocchi--who knew THAT was a thing??--and it was delicious! the eggplant parm, pear ravioli and orechiette-all sublime. We drove an hour to get here and cannot wait to return. Simply one of the best restaurants in the city.
Loved the outdoor area. Food was good.
Great outdoor seating in the back of restaurant, which gives more privacy vs the outdoor seating up front.
The special was a salmon ravioli and it was AMAZING. Good food. Good portions. Would have preferred my tiramisu to NOT have chocolate drizzled on top of it, but besides that all was lovely.
Very pleasant restaurant. Calamari was superb as was a beet truffled goat cheese salad that was stellar and would have not been out of place at the fanciest restaurants in town. Tip - Eat in the patio area behind the restaurant.
We sat on the back patio, and it was a beautiful night. The food was delicious and you could taste the freshness of it. Presentation was very nice, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I would definitely visit again and recommend everyone to try it.
