Our menu is based on classic dishes that we experienced in people"s homes in Italy. Some are family recipes and others we learned by cooking with friends back home in Roma.
This menu is structured for either a classic or family style "tasting" dining experience, depending on what mood you're in! No matter which way you dine we do encourage you to share and to try each other's dishes.
I hope you enjoy the simple ingredient combinations and taste the spirit of Rome in Chicago. Always remember that if you've had something here before and you don't see it on the menu, just ask. If we can make it for you we will.

Backyard area is a great place to have dinner at night.
I was looking for an off-the-beaten-path spot to bring my girlfriend for our 2 year anniversary. This was the place I stumbled upon. The back patio is perfect for setting a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere. The wine was stellar. The food was superb. The service was exceptional. An outstanding spot for any occasion.
Food was outstanding, patio is fantastic! Great service.
Amazing food and cute back patio. If you want good Italian this is the place to go.
Amazing as always!
Enoteca Roma continues to be my favorite restaurant in Chicago. I've been maybe 12 times over the last 6-7 years and the quality of the food is consistent and delicious and the staff always makes us comfortable there. Don't miss the polenta and hand-made pastas, in particular the Giovanna, and trust your server to recommend on any dishes you're debating. The Mangia Mangia is also the best value in the city for a family/group meal and the variety is fantastic. I cannot recommend Enoteca Roma enough!
Have been going there for years. Food is wonderful and it’s rarely crowded. It’s a gem.
Fantastic experience, great authentic Italian food. I know most will say every "italian" place is authentic, but Enoteca Roma was clearly one of the more authentic Italian places that I have seen in awhile. Just having come back from Italy, this reminded me of several of the restaurants there. Specials were outstanding. Definitely recommend.
Great people great food
I not only would recommend Enoteca Roma to a friend, I have brought friends to the restaurant on this and other occasions. In my view, it is the best Italian restaurant in Chicago!
What a hidden gem! First time in Chicago and so lucky we found this wonderful restaurant! It’s authentic Italian cuisine, the service was great and super welcoming! Will be back!
The food is AMAZING and the back patio is the best!
Food, service, value. Our server was outstanding. The food was authentic, the food and wine were reasonably priced.
The patio added to the experience.
This was the second time we have been here and it was even better! We brought another couple and they loved it too! This time I had the carrot gnocchi--who knew THAT was a thing??--and it was delicious! the eggplant parm, pear ravioli and orechiette-all sublime. We drove an hour to get here and cannot wait to return. Simply one of the best restaurants in the city.
Loved the outdoor area. Food was good.
Great outdoor seating in the back of restaurant, which gives more privacy vs the outdoor seating up front.
The special was a salmon ravioli and it was AMAZING. Good food. Good portions. Would have preferred my tiramisu to NOT have chocolate drizzled on top of it, but besides that all was lovely.
Very pleasant restaurant. Calamari was superb as was a beet truffled goat cheese salad that was stellar and would have not been out of place at the fanciest restaurants in town. Tip - Eat in the patio area behind the restaurant.
We sat on the back patio, and it was a beautiful night. The food was delicious and you could taste the freshness of it. Presentation was very nice, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. I would definitely visit again and recommend everyone to try it.
Able to seat us at requested patio table. Very attentive manager who was knowledgeable about the wine list as well as the menu. Great food recommendations.
Our meals were outstanding!
Used Open Table to book the reservation. Why don’t I get points??
Amazing back patio, knowledgeable staff and incredible fresh food. Just a gem of a restaurant!
Love this little jewel! We come often and are never disappointed.
Loved it as always and brought new friends to also love it. We all left happy and excited to return!
Super cute back patio! Perfect for a date night or a group dinner outside. Super friendly and great server! Great recommendations. Fresh homemade pasta.
Enoteca Roma. We've been returning to this restaurant for the past 10+ years. Consistently excellent in all respects.
Food good, definitely not great. Back patio was very nice - good “escape” from the city.
Love the outdoor space, the food was also very good! Our service was a little slow but otherwise, very good time.
Always a lovely couples' Date Nite for us at Enoteca Roma--the patio was perfect, food was excellent, and service was wonderful from the welcome outside the front door through dinner. Our waiter Patrick was knowledgeable and fun and we can't wait to go back.
Delicious Italian food with a unique menu that cannot be beat in Chicago! From bruschetta flights to pear ricotta ravioli. The service and ambiance has always been upstanding for ten plus years. Enoteca is always reliable and the hidden patio with a flower garden and fountain is a reliable retreat in summer!
I often forget how good Enotecca Roma is. Fantastic fresh Italian food and the open air courtyard in the back is beautiful.
Thoroughly mediocre food. Somehow 4 adults and a toddler ran up a $200 bill for an app, a salad, 4.5 entrees and their cheapest bottle of wine. There were also pans of dried, cooked food inexplicably sitting on the bar when we came in for dinner service. The back garden area seems nice though. Maybe that's what people pay the ridiculous prices for. It sure isn't the food. The bread was good though, so I'll give them that.
Enoteca Roma exceeded all expectations. The food was amazing and the service is great. This is our new favorite restaurant.
Had dinner here for my boyfriend's 24th birthday. The food was mediocre. I got the pear ravioli and they got gnocchi alla erbe (pork). Both of our meals where missing something flavor wise. The ambience was alright. Definitely a lot more casual than what their online presence suggests. When we first entered the host was seated outside in a blanket and dressed like it was a Sunday and she was running early morning errands. Once she sat us she left her ipad on the table for a few minutes until she realized what she was missing. Took a while for the waiter to see us despite the half empty room. They did bring out a raspberry chocolate cake that was on the house for my bf's birthday which was very sweet of them. The cake was probably the best part of the meal. Overall - the whole environment seemed like they were trying to be much classier than what they are and the wait staff needed to tighten up. This place is ok if you're just trying to get a meal for sustenance. Not good for special occasions or even date nights.
Literally one of the best Italian meals I have had in Chicago. Polenta was out of this world. Bruschetta flight was amazing. Panna cotta dessert was sublime. Atmosphere on the back patio was delightful. Cannot wait to come back-there were so many more dishes on the menu I wanted to try--I'm only sorry I could only eat one meal!
Enotaca Roma is a treat. The meal was tremendous, every serving was delicious. The outdoor patio is perfect for al fresco dining. Can’t wait to come back and try some different dishes.
Service was on the slow side but the food is worth waiting for, excellent polenta and superb bruchetas!
We love this place! I had the polenta this time and it was amazing, truly a delight. We will definitely be back again.
Delicious food and nice outdoor area. We were rushed to leave which was refreshing! Would recommend to a friend!
Excellent food, service. A genuine neighborhood gem.
This is real Italian! At the end of every course, every plate on the table was cleaned, that’s how good it is. All pastas are made by hand and you can tell it. We could go to any restaurant in Chicago but here is where we come every time we are in town for Italian.
Love, love, love it!!
The food was delicious. Lobster salad lacking lobster but everything else was awesome.
