I love this little restaurant! The food choices are limited as it should be considering the small space and few staff, but everything is SO good. Soup, arancini, salad of fennel and blood oranges, gnocchi. Good help on wine selection. As if that wasn't enough, when faced with dessert--which we didn't think we wanted--all 3 of us ordered one apiece. No one was disappointed.
The ragu is amazing! The portions are very large so be warned. Service is perfectly attentive and not intrusive. Wine list is extensive so how could anyone not enjoy this full experience.
Every dish was bitter or bland. The wine was good, but it seemed too expensive to not really like the food. The service was great.
Enjoyed our meal although not as outstanding as when we were there previously - last time was a year+ ago. Server and ambience still delightful.
Great dinner for our anniversary. Very attentive staff. Great window table was ready for us just as we entered. We've lived in Italy for 3 years, so extra special to sample some great dishes locally here.
Superb in every way. Not flashy superb, just expertly done superb.
This was our first time at Enoteca Molinari but it won’t be our last! The saltimboca was very good. But my husband could not give enough praise for the tagliatelle ragu. My turn next! Service was excellent. This tiny restaurant deserves all the good reviews it gets.
This is a small intimate restaurant with a small bar and the owners/partners seemed to be the servers and cooks! Small plate servings, minimal daily menu, and pleasant atmosphere. My sister and I arrived 10 min before opening time and they seated us anyway. Their wine list was extensive and did not have one of my usual favorite whites so I asked for a suggestion and they provided a wine that was perfect! As they did not automatically bring a basket of bread to the table, we requested it, and they willingly provided some lovely French bread with flavorful olive oil. We ordered the blood orange / fennel salad to share and it was crispy, sweet, and delicious. For the main course, we ordered swordfish and the gnocchi to share - both were quite yummy, and just the right proportions. As we had a few minutes to spare before heading off to Rockridge BART station and the SF Symphony, we ordered two desserts as well. Unfortunately, the desserts were slow to appear (at least 10 minutes) and so we had to cancel them - just as they were ready to be served. They looked absolutely delicious but we decided we didn't want to rush through them in order to catch the train on time. Fortunately for everyone, the couple at the table next to us (it's a small, intimate seating arrangement) took one look at them and decided they would love to eat them - happy ending for all of us! Though I still plan to order them on our next visit.... We will be back again!
Excellent list of Italian wines at reasonable prices, including good ones by the glass. The menu is written in impeccable Italian (with translations) and always has something new as well as stand-bys like their tagliatelle al ragu, which is a favorite.
Sat. night dining...food was very good but took a very long time from ordering to being
served. Our server was friendly but wasn't very attentive. Everyone seemed to be having
a good time...especially the very loud group of five directly beside us!
A gem of a small restaurant with superb food and an interesting menu. Our waiter was very helpful.
This is a fantastic restaurant. Very small and intimate. Setup with a simple decor that allows you to put all your focus into the wonderful gourmet food. It's a small menu but a wide variety to suit everyone's tastes. Each bite of the dish satisfies the palette, but entices you to take the next one. When you get to the dessert you have the non-enviable yet enviable position of having to decide what delectable item to cap off your experience. The caramel salted pudding was divine and he espresso ice cream is also another top choice. Seating 12 plus what can sit at the bar, make your reservation early and make it now.
Service was great, Food was wonderful, small but ambiance is wonderful
A great place to dine! Great food, a nice atmosphere, very attentive servers, and easy to get to.
The dinner was great. Excellent service and the atmosphere had a great vibe. Everything was delicious and the wine was fantastic . The only reason I gave 3 stars for value was because I felt that some of the items were pricey for what they were . Particularly the salads (amazing ) and the salumi. I would highly recommend this restaurant ! It would be fun to sit at the bar next time!
Good food, good service, very friendly. Def go back
Lovely intimate space but not impressed what I ordered. Soup was tasty, but much too expensive for small bowl of thin broth with a few veggies floating within. Salad was just large leaves of lettuce with way too much grainy salt applied. Nothing else.
Took a bite of friend's dessert, and that was quite delicious. He had fish entree which looked good.
Tried walking in the week before since we were nearby but couldn't get a table. Decided to make a reservation & come back, glad we did. food was very good, promptly seated which was nice. Service was very good, small, quaint but for sure make a reservation as the tables are very scarce. Enjoy the food if you go, wine list is nice as well as good selection by the glass. Worth trying out & we will be back.
There was nothing negative about this restaurant. We arrived to find a number of people waiting at the door. The hostess was patient and offered alternatives to those ahead of us. She asked if we had reservations (which I had fortunately just made earlier in the day) and immediately ushered us to a table in a room with a pianist playing. The music was lovely, the wait staff were informed and efficient, the food was terrific, and the price was good for the quality of the entire evening.
This place s a lovely small neighborhood restaurant with outstanding rags and an interesting wine list
Our favorite restaurant in Oakland. The food is fresh and delicious and the service is exactly right, helpful but not hovering.
Couldn't have been happier to dine for the first time at Enoteca. The service is excellent and it felt personal without overly so. They created a savory swordfish dish and their homemade ragu is rich with flavor. Homemade noodles...yum! We didn't have time for dessert but next time. Nice wine selection.
Being Sicilian I’m very picky and spoiled with great Italian food. But Enoteca Molinari... that’s the place to go..
Delicious as always. My favorite spot for date night in the neighborhood.
The food is simple but sophisticated Italian, slightly more Sicilian, but the full range of dishes and wines are well selected. Chef and waitstaff are so very pleasant. Almond cake was a special treat, with macerated pears and a bit of cardamom. Can’t wait to return for more!
Great food. Excellent wine and a fabulous waiter
Great neighborhood spot. Intimate vibe, authentic Italian food, and great service. My husband and I can’t wait to go back for another date night.
Wonderful neighborhood gem. Each dish had its own unique and delicate flavor. Intimate ambience. Friendly and attentive service. We will make this a habit!
I have been to this restaurant three or four times, each time a little less impressive. The menu has gotten less creative with many dishes with the same tomato sauce. The best thing we had was a sauteed pork tenderloin accompanied with broccolini and a few baby potatoes. The arancini were fine but nothing special. The disappointing dish was the pasta with ragu, too much pasta, not enough sauce and rather sloppily presented. No cheese offered. Wine list is good. Best to go for a drink and an antipasta.
Delicious swordfish prepared perfectly. The
pork tenderloin saltimboca was also delicious. It is a restaurant worth visiting.
What a pleasant surprise. Must have walked by this little gem for past seven years and missed it somehow. It will now become our new fav 'go to' place. It's very popular on weekends so we'll do midweek as often as possible.
Burrata with butternut squash was amazing! Wine list is excellent and very Italian. The wait staff are always very helpful with pairings.
I had the swordfish and my husband had the saltimbocca. Both were very good. They were also very considerate of my dietary restrictions.
Consistently excellent food. Traditional Italian but updated. The menu is small but there is always something for every palate. And, it is all very fresh and wonderful. Cozy too!
Excellent service and delicious food. This is a small restaurant and we had the only table for 4 but there was no sense that the servers were rushing us.
Great little place... fell in love with the tagliatelle ragu. Great Italian wine selection. Authentic Italian chef. Will definitely go back to try other dishes. Pleasant environment!
Had the best gnocchi I have had outside of Italy.
Really love this place. Excellent food, wine and service. Sit at the bar if you get a choice.
Love this little place. I’ve been there 3 times. I keep going back because I want to try everything on the menu. I’m about half way through. It’s a fairly small menu but everything is top notch and delicious. I love the orecchiette with broccoli rabe. Perfect texture and flavor combination.
The best Italian wine list in the East Bay, described with enthusiasm by owner and staff. Good food a total bonus.
