Difficult at times to make reservations but absolutely worth any wait. Everything about Enoteca Molinari is perfection!
We sat at the bar. We were guided through some amazing Italian wine- my husband had sparkling rosato and I had an amazing red wine from Puglia. Our waiter spent time to find out what type of wine we really like.
The menu was terrific- we started with a calamari appetizer- that came with fennel, Italian parsley and Garbanzo beans - it was fabulous. We then shared two entrees -an orecchiette pasta with broccoli rabe and sausage and a tagliatelle with a slow cooked meaty ragu.
Everything was delicious – the service was attentive but not overbearing. The restaurant was busy – – but not loud. We will return —we had a great time. A great find on College Ave!
Great spot, food was excellent and serves was top notch, we enjoyed it very much.
We found Enoteca Molinari on Google and were not disappointed. The food was delicious and the menu varied. Great ambience and delighted to hear that the business is expanding next door. Unfortunately, we live in the UK otherwise this would a regular dinner choice. Thanks to the team !
Cold steak and underdressed salad but excellent wait staff and delicious panna cotta.
Opening course of calamari was the best I have ever had. Not breaded and fried but gently sautéed.
Companion and I disagreed about gnocchi with pesto; I thought it was excellent, and gnocchi can be awful if not done right. Third friend had the ragu which is a great item, always on the menu. All agreed that desserts, budino carmelato and budino cioccalato, were both outstanding.
Wonderful gnocchi, but overcooked calamari & flavorless & tough flank steak. I like this place so will give it another chance.
The quality of the food at Enotecca remains consistently high after these many years. The food is beautifully prepared from very fresh ingredients. The meats, fish and vegetable are perfectly cooked with wonderful southern Italian seasonings; the portion size is quite generous. We love the small size and the cozy, intimate experience of this neighborhood gem. Joe and Angelo remember and notice return customers and make everyone feel quite at home.
From the first time I had the pleasure of dining at Enoteca Molinari, to the last time and every time in between, the experience has been amazing. Every morsel of food and every drink is outstanding! The service is exceptional and the atmosphere is very welcoming. I also had the most extraordinarily experience where I witnessed the Chef save a customer’s life by performing CPR. Don’t just walk here, run...but save a table for me!!!!
My wife and I love this place. Joe chooses great wines. Angelo does the kitchen magic. A great package!
Great food! I will be back.
We thought the food was very good but the service, though friendly, was slow. They need to work on the pacing of food delivery.
The meal was delicious with inventive appetizers and a great almond sponge cake among other appealing dessert choices. The staff was attentive and very friendly.
Our favorite. The food is outstanding and consistent, the service is wonderfully attentive ( and they never rush you) and Chef Angelo is a HERO.
We had dinner on FRI this past week and while we were there, another patron, a man probably in his late fifties, had a heart attack.
The staff were amazing and the chef SAVED THIS MAN’S LIFE by getting him up onto a bench and doing CPR. We really weren’t sure if he was going to make it, but thanks to the swift action of Chef Angelo and his staff, the man responded to the CPR and when he paramedics arrived & took him out of the restaurant he, his wife and young daughter were all smiles and so grateful.
It was amazing to witness the compassion of strangers and see a mans life saved by another. These are truly GOOD PEOPLE.
They have our loyalty forever!!
Warm and accommodating service paired with outstanding food. Seasonal appetizers deliver!
We loved the food and wine, the advice on dishes and wine was excellent, will most certainly go back!
Authentic Italian, excellent service.
Decent food, horrendous service. Nice, intimate room.
My friend and I genuinely enjoyed the intimacy of the Restaurant and thought the food and beverages were diverse and delicious. I recommend it to anyone to go for a casual yet elegant aumbiance. Overall, absolutely loved It.
Food was excellent
Service also five stars
A must try
This was a great suggestion from a person I had just met that lives in the area. The place is small but that just adds to the ambience and the overall cozy feel of the place. The food is prepared by what looks to be a single chef that was visible from our table. The service was excellent and the food was terrific!!
This is a great new find and will remain on the circuit. A very relaxed option.
Always a welcoming place. Service on the spot. We shared salad and squash blossoms stuffed with ricotta and battered. Two lovely pastas.: 2 glasses bubbly, one glass Barolo, and a bottle of Sardinian white, all for a $150. Lovely almond cake birthday surprise on the House.
Excellent food in a small environment. If you get there early, it is quiet enough for a great conversation.
It reminds me of an intimate, higher end, family owned, homemade pasta experience in NYC. Absolutely love it.
Superb food, excellent unobtrusive service, simple decor. They clearly care about what they serve and about their customers. Seeing not a single wine on the list (all Italian) that we recognized, we asked for help for pairing with our food. After asking us a few questions, the waiter made recommendations for each of us and the wines turned out to be perfect to go with the food and to suit our individual tastes. This is a great place for wine tasting or eating or both. Recommend unconditionally.
My boyfriend and I had the most lovely meal here for our 1st anniversary. The waitress, a true Roman, was charming as ever, the food was delicious and perfectly proportioned, and the atmosphere was simple and relaxing. We can't wait to come back! Mille grazie!
Excellent food paired with attentive and warm service. This is a gem!
A lovely place for a intimate date or a small (4-5) special occasion gathering. Fresh pasta and great variety of Italian wines. I'd go here again!
We go there often. Food is very good and consistent. Service is very good as well. A very good local gem. This is a small restaurant, seating is limited. Best to make a reservation.
A neighborhood gem that was an excellent dining experience. The food was light but rich in flavor. This was our first time here and the wine complemented the food. We will be coming back soon.
We love this small gem of an Italian restaurant. Every dish was well-prepared and delicious. Wait staff is very knowledgeable about the Italian wine list and seemed committed to our having a good experience.
I’ll be honest, I don’t normally take the time to do these reviews, but Enotica Molinari is a standout and deserves the recognition! I’m the daughter of a Sicilian immigrant who used to live in Italy, and can say with confidence that this place is the real authentic deal. That is so refreshing, given how many places make the claim only to disappoint. The food was delightful, fresh, and creative. And the wine pairings (and recommendations) were spot on. The staff are not just there to do a job, but to provide an experience, and they do it well.
Awesome! The food was really tasty! Small place, very quaint and service was perfect. They are great with wine selections however I wanted to drink a Cosmopolitan or Moscow mule however they did not have all the ingredients to make either drink. I settled on a glass of red and it was very good.
Mom was impressed with her mother's day dinner here.
the food is always incredibly flavorful and they have a wonderful selection of wines that are hard to find. Joe and Fabiano always provide a warm welcome. I’ll be back again and again.
Service and food were ok but not great. We live down the street but this was our first time there. We were hoping it would become a favorite spot, especially since there aren't many decent Italian restaurants nearby. Instead, we felt like it was similar to an average cafe experience with more a expensive menu.
For such a small restaurant we expected a little more attention. Disappointed.
Small and casual. Great service at the table and behind the bar. Pleasant atmosphere. Reasonably priced, small portions.
I love this little restaurant! The food choices are limited as it should be considering the small space and few staff, but everything is SO good. Soup, arancini, salad of fennel and blood oranges, gnocchi. Good help on wine selection. As if that wasn't enough, when faced with dessert--which we didn't think we wanted--all 3 of us ordered one apiece. No one was disappointed.
The ragu is amazing! The portions are very large so be warned. Service is perfectly attentive and not intrusive. Wine list is extensive so how could anyone not enjoy this full experience.
Every dish was bitter or bland. The wine was good, but it seemed too expensive to not really like the food. The service was great.
