Dinner with my 92 year old Mom is always special and whenever we dine at Enoteca Molinari, we feel special!!! From the moment you walk in you are treated wonderfully. Every morsel to eat is amazing and the service is outstanding!!!
Fun sitting at the bar. Bartender was very informative and helpful in understanding the wine list.
Love this neighborhood gem. Intimate atmosphere with really good food and service.
small intimate spot, very authentic food, + food combinations/ flavors were as if we were dining in Italy! Need to make reservation since small number of tables but always love dining at the bar!
It was excellent. Will be my go to place for a great meal where you can have conversation
Everything you hope for when looking for true excellence in a an intimate setting can be found here.
We went to Molinari after striking out at another restaurant, and were pleasantly surprised. The food was simple, but terrific. We shared three appetizers, a main course and a dessert. The standouts were the Monterey Bay calamari, the arancini and the gnocchi. They have an interesting wine list - tho' not extensive.
My go to restaurant for date night with my girl. The food is always excellent and the wine selection is fabulous. Desserts are off the hook!!!
All around great experience every time. A rare, more intimate setting and experience.
Joe and chef Angelo have continued to deliver great Italian menus for dine time now. Can’t wait for them to open the new space! Great food, reasonably priced wines in a nice small venue.
Enoteca Molinari provides authentic Italian cuisine, comparable to what you would find in Italy itself. The chef is talented, uses fresh ingredients, and changes the menu seasonally. The owner is a wine connoisseur and is very helpful when selecting something to complement the meal. I have been several times, and each guest I have brought, has also enjoyed it thoroughly.
We are never disappointed when we visit Enoteca Molinari. The food and waitstaff are fantastic, the wine list is interesting and accessible. Every time I walk through the door, I walk through less burdened than what I left outside knowing that the next hour or two are going to be wonderful.
Very authentic...great food and service. Outstanding all-Italian wine list.
I love this place
The restaurant was charming and intimate, service attentive, food unique and delicious, ambiance was inviting, pleasant and cool. A small neighborhood restaurant with limited seating that creates the charm and intimacy. Highly recommend.
Stunningly prepared food from an appealing menu. Simply and unpretentiously served. Can’t wait to return.
The perfect neighborhood restaurant I use for special occasions and simple meals.
Love this quaint spot. Food is delicious and the owner is attentive. Pasta ragú is a must.
We’ve been twice now and really enjoyed it both times. It’s small, intimate, and neighborhoodie, with a quality menu and a staff that is inviting and relaxed. It took us a while to get to it, but we’ll keep coming back!
Our first visit - Very pleased with everything. All the pasta dishes, and especially the swordfish, were really good. This is a small restaurant, very intimate feel to it, good atmosphere and the food seems authentically Italian. Desserts just ok, but everything else was excellent!
Had a very nice dinner -- small place with great service and good food.
We always love visiting. It’s like coming home. Joe and Fabiano always make us feel like they have been waiting for us to come back.
The Gnocchi was delicious....not some lump of pasta. My swordfish also was delish. The beet salad was good but not enough beets!
The service was good.
We have never been disappointed in the food, ambience and service at Enoteca.
Kitchen is run by Angelo, who must have been brought up in the restaurant business in Naples.
Food always comes up hot and incredibly delicious.
Joe, the owner, always gracious and more than helpful with providing a taste of wine prior to deciding whether it fits your pallet at the time. His dessert suggestions are right on the mark as well.
No problem highly recommending the restaurant.
Great wine list and the food is also excellent. It is a bit pricey and portion size is a bit small, but it is inline with what I would expect from this type of establishment
My favorite restaurant
The food is always first rate, do a long dinner with friends with shared plates.
Besides the food enjoyment, the staff clearly enjoys the service and presentation.
They are very helpful with providing samples of wines for selection.
All in all a happy place which shines.
Went with family now living in Holland, and closer San Diego, all were happily surprised.
Our mains took forever to come out, with little explanation or apology. The couple next to us, who’s was seated after us, finished their mains and left before we even got served our mains
I really wanted to like this restaurant, but the calamari was chewy and the orecchiette was dense like gnocchi and needed salt. The burrata and beet salad was food, but the burrata was more like a mozzerella than a burrata. Also, we asked for a bottle of sparkling wine and they made a mistake and gave us a different bottle that they opened before getting to our table so we felt obliged to drink it. Service was ok. Unfortunately we do not recommend this restaurant.
One of our very favorite spots in Oakland! We took my mom last week for her Birthday + had a lovely celebration.
Cozy, romantic sweet spot with delicious food and welcoming staff.
As always the food and wine were exceptional. Joe’s knowledge of wine is impressive and his ability to identify just the right wine is uncanny.
Angelo Is a masterful chef. His dishes are both delicious and beautifully presented.
The wine selection is great. Appetizers/starters excellent, but both pastas were salty. Nice small neighborhood spot.
Very much like a small restaurant out of the tourist traps in Italy, with fresh pasta, delicious earthy sauces and a very nuanced by-the-glass (bottles, too) wine list. It feels very intimate and it is in fact tiny, so be sure to reserve if you want to sit at a table instead of the bar.
First time. Pleasantly surprised. Great food with very good service. Not rushed even though it’s a small popular place. Cannot wait to return.
Authentic, wonderful Italian food with perfect Italian wine pairings. From the fig/burrata app, through salad, eggplant parm, fresh tagliatelle (with rich ragu) and dessert, it was the perfect meal.
Authentic Italian fare in a cozy spot with friendly, personalized service, living up to its name as an enoteca (wine library) by offering a large selection of wines by the glass.
Food is great with each dish prepared by the chef visible in the open kitchen area. Service was just OK.
Menu is quite limited, but based on what we ate (and watched our neighbors eat) everything is very good. Very small place, open only for dinner, so reserve, or try eating at the bar. They appear to be expanding next door, but perhaps that is stalled.
Wine menu has an excellent selection of Italian wines, many by the glass.
Cozy and charming, welcoming service and delicious food. Not cheap, but not outrageous.
I'm looking forward to eating there again.
