Enolo Wine Cafe
Our wines are first and foremost food friendly. We like to bring Old World and New World wines that are more on the esoteric side, and singular in style.
The rest of our beverage program will include beers from Chicago and our Suburb breweries, crafted drinks and a list of hand picked spirits.
And finally our main ingredient is to create the most approachable and unpretentious experience for all our guest."
assortment of three cheeses
Seared Ahi Tuna Tacos
mango habanero salsa, cilantro-lime crema
red and yellow peppers, citrus vinaigrette
Nice vibe, great wine selection with some tasty bold reds. The shoshito peppers are delicious with shaved chilis. Do not miss the Bruschetta either (mix and match!) all amazing.
Service was great.
Wonderful service and very little wait time. Loved the atmosphere and the wine was delicious. Great happy hour deals!
Atmosphere was a little noisy but joyful. The food was delicious especially the tuna tacos and the bruschetta. The wine flights are the way to go for value and good wine. Our service was excellent.
The cheese and meat board was out of this world and our wine choices were delicious. The bartender even let us sample if we weren’t sure. I’d definitely go back!
We had a reservation, but when we arrived we were merely asked to stand over by the counter near the kitchen and wait. We were seated within 10 minutes. Let me first say that the food was quite good. Our dishes got to our table quickly, almost too quickly. And herein lies the issue. Our server had the table-side manner of a disinterested 12-year old boy, who only uttered words in the hopes of getting his gameboy back. After we finished a course, he would ask whether we were now done for the evening as opposed to asking if he could get us something else. When it was time to pay our check, he was seemingly nowhere to be found, and I had a lovely woman at the bar help me out (had you been our server, the review would be quite different). My wife and I were nothing but cordial (even the couple to my left we surprised by our waiter). So give Enolo a try--the food and wine are worth it--just hope you get the right server.
We were three friends, one from out of town, meeting for dinner. The food was delicious, the wine was great. One of us had the Prix Fixe menu and loved every one of the courses along with the wine pairings that went with it. The other two of us ordered ala carte and loved that too. The wine was super-expensive - $17. per four ounces. This would discourage me from going back. Also the noise level was not favorable for conversation. We had reservations, but were not able to have the table we preferred. Only the high tables were available. One of us wanted a virgin cocktail, but that was not available.
Service was impeccable
The food menu was unimpressive and lacked creativity. Was the kind of experience where the menu sounded better than what was actually put on the plate in my opinion. Wine was good quality and was the highlight of the dining experience. Nice facilities and ambiance.
The service and atmosphere at Enolo Wine Cafe were both top notch. There seemed to be only one server working, but since there were only about three tables full, this was not an issue. I have yet to go on a busy night, so I cannot say what the service would be like if it was crowded. The food was mostly delicious, but I was slightly disappointed with the cheese board. Also if you do not go during happy hour, the menu is a little on the expensive side. Overall I enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be back for another happy hour.
This restaurant has been on our radar for a while as a potential place to take our wine-loving friends and family. After eating there, we are definitely looking forward to returning as the food was very good, portions were just the right size for sharing, and we liked the ambience. Although we are not particularly big wine drinkers, we found selections that suited our tastes, thanks to the assistance of our server.
I found Enolo on trip advisor; it was wonderful! Food and wine were great!
The food was very good (the fries) , the wines/cider were amazing and the ambience was cozy. I would come back for sure
Yikes. Not a good experience. We were really looking forward to this place on our date night. The manager seated us and sold on a glass of wine unusually hard so we felt compelled to accept. We drink a lot of wine and we now know that what we received was a turning bottle that he wanted to get rid of. We politely asked if we could have something else. The next glass he brought us was $18/glass (the most expensive on the menu) and, although it was not old, it was below average. After we sent the glasses of turned wine back, we never saw the manager again and the new server we got never spent more than 2 seconds in front of us or made eye contact. No one really seemed to care about our experience. We had every intention of spending $200 there on wine and food but after those first 15 minutes, we decided we were ordering fries so we could wait for another restaurant, cashed out and moved on. $60 down the drain.
As always, everything was great!
The staff at Enolo was very helpful and respectful to our larger group (7 people) and was so attentive! Had a great time, happy hour deals were on point, and food was great! Thanks Enolo!
Been wanting to check out this place for a while now and it did not disappoint! It's a cute and clean space with an upscale casual vibe. Our server was very knowledgeable and polite! Loved the selection of wines and loved the food, especially the Brussels sprouts starter!! Can't wait to come back :)
Our server/bartender was amazing!!! Wine tasted great. Food had small portions and the cheeseboard really lacked a substantial about of cheese.
Fun place with outstanding food. Burger and seared ahi tuna tacos were great. Wine was outstanding as well.
Visiting Chicago from Minneapolis and we were looking for a place for wine and small plates. We arrived quite early for our reservation and the staff was very accommodating. Food was great, wait staff seemed very knowledgeable about wine selections. Highly recommend!
I had a small birthday celebration at Enolo Wine Cafe, and it was perfect! Our waitress was very friendly and helpful, and the wines and food we ordered were all great! Will definitely be back again.
Kelvin A was an excellent waiter. He welcomed us as first time diners and was patient with our questions. We arrived during happy hour which was quite affordable. We were treated to complimentary dishes and drinks throughout our time and I don't know why but it was an awesome way to kick off our weekend in the city. My husband and I plan on visiting again with friends in tow!
Item of Food was too salty. But other spices were good
Loved it. Excellent service plus very good food. Decent selection of wine by the glass, though beer list needs to expand.
Shishitos were perfectly breaded (very light) - better than most Japanese restaurants in the US. Tuna Tacos were very good - especially with the addition of their homemade habanero salsa.
Choc lava cake was outstanding. Don’t treat the mint leaves as a garnish; eat them with the cake!
All at very reasonable prices.
I love this spot!!! Great selection and service!!
We went for dinner before my best friends bachelorette party and ordered some appetizers and was told the chef made us extra for the table at no extra charge. Our meals were amazing and the chef also made us dessert as well as an add on! It was a great experience!
Nice selection of interesting wines. Limited but good (and also interesting) menu. One has the impression that they really know their wines.
The wine-by-the-glass list is awesome and they have lots of them on the $7 happy hour menu. I only got a simple appetizer (guacamole which was good) so I don't have a lot of comments on the food. It was a beautiful so we sat outside. Lovely. Tony was our server. Very knowledgable about the wines. Great night!
Cheese board and prosciutto pizza was really good! Also loved the cava!
This was a TERRIBLE experience! I made the reservation an hour in advance for 10:30pm and the restaurant hours said they were open until 12am. We arrived to restaurant at 10:30pm and the restaurant is CLOSED! We walked in the door and all the chairs were put on the tables and we found someone to ask what was going on and they told us with a snobby attitude “we are closed!” And I said then why does your website say you are open until 12am and I was allowed to make a reservation? It was absolutely unprofessional, rude and unacceptable. We then had to find another restaurant to have a nice dinner at. This restaurant is just horrible and does what it wants when it wants. I have never made a reservation before and show up to the restaurant and they decided to close and not call me or cancel my reservation! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!
Had the best birthday I could have asked for!
Very nice atmosphere
Overall good. The food & wine offering was a little more to be desired for but nice all around
Went Enolo after work for their happy hour and enjoyed eating and having wine outside. The service was great and great quality of wine. My friend and I tried their wine flights. I will be back!
Anytime I am in Chicago, I make sure to stop in this gem for a meal and glass of wine. It is exceptional in every way!
Excellent night! Our server Calvin was very attentive and knowledgeable about wine and food choices. Excited to return
Patrick was the consummate waiter.
The food was fabulous and the wine list, extensive.
Wonderful pairing of red and white wines to our meal selections. Staff friendly and welcoming at Enolo Wine Cafe. A must went visiting Chicago.
Very friendly staff. Special occasion which was recognized. One of our favorite places
My boyfriend and I visited this past Friday. Loved the vibe! Wine list was great! We really enjoyed the food, especially the apple/Brie bruschetta! Would definitely come back next time we visit Chicago!!
The food wasn’t great, and the rap music playing in he background for the six-eight people that were in here wasn’t the best. I don’t think the food was worth the amount I paid for the evening.
