Eno Terra Ratings and Reviews
We had a wonderful meal at Eno Terra. Service was primo. We started with the chef's choice of a meat and cheese platter which was suberb. Our salads were unique and fresh combination of ingredients. We all had fish and scallops; each meal was perfectly prepared and plated. Excellent celebration.
Great food and service. My date and I were certainly the most rocking people in the joint as it seemed that most of the patrons favored v neck sweaters and oxford shirts but aside from the seemingly conservative crowd everything else was stellar. Food was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully plated. Service was top notch. Great wine. Lively scene just not our kind of crowd.
A rainy night. Visiting a loved one in a hospital. It was cozy and comfortable. The food was just so so. The waiter was perfunctory and everything came pretty quickly. Disappointed in the eggplant. How can an upscale restaurant serve a frozen eggplant lasagne? It looked like it had just been defrosted. I have had better eggplant at a cheap pizza joint. The tagliatelle with veal
Was pretty basic stuff. It wasn’t a bad experience...just pretty regular. The green olives were great and reasonably priced. The mussels were good too. The bread is nothing to write home about.
What a memorable experience here!! We always pass this restaurant on our way to Princeton and I was drawn to the location and exterior when we went hiking opposite of this place. I brought my fiancé, Ant, here for a special birthday on a Friday evening. As a Designer/Art Director, I’m very observant in the littlest details and design. We always respect time slots for reservations so we always come 15-20 minutes early and told the host and hostess we can wait no problem. They were so kind to seat us early! The complimentary parking was a nice touch and being seated upstairs gave it an intimate vibe. Our waitress, Lilly, was so sweet and very attentive to us throughout the whole evening. And we had another server, I didn’t catch his name but he was amiable and well-mannered. The natural wood gives first impression a very rustic and classic hybrid while it complimented all the creative dishes that they served. Food overall was rich and creamy. The salumi and formaggi platter was just so good and it was nice to learn that they get their fresh breads from the local bakery in downtown Princeton! The complimentary trout dish was so delicious! During our main course, my fiancé turned to me as his eyes rolled in content, “I honestly can’t remember the last time I had a good steak!” And the scallops are to die for. And lastly, I always judge a restaurant by their bathroom: it was super clean, 2 bathroom stalls with doors, and a nice big body mirror with a couch! And while washing your hands, it’s fun watching the valet parking in action. While waiting for our dessert, we explored in their private room and I instantly fell in love with it for a potential dinner party. And going outside, the place looks so magical with the lights! Thanks for a lovely experience, I keep replaying it in my mind how smoothly the evening went and how happy my fiancé was after a stressful day. It redeemed the week we had. We will definitely come back. Thank you!!!
Usually I prefer sitting in the bar but this was a special dinner. We had a perfect table near the fireplace. Everyone enjoyed dinner . We started with a cheese board- chef choice - all delicious from the nuts , bread to meats & cheese. The most envied app was the grilled octopus. Perfect. The mushroom soup was heavenly as well. The swordfish entree was very good. The eggplant parmigiana was a smaller portion but perfect for me. Crunchy and so flavorful. The steak and scallops were all hits as well. Good cocktails, great service, we were all quite happy we celebrated the big 87th birthday here! Thank- you!
Eating at Eno Terra is like being in a friend's fancy dining room. It's cozy, but feels upscale. Our server was so personable and very attentive. The food is fantastic, really good flavors paired together and very high quality ingredients. I had perfectly cooked swoardfish, and couldn't finish the last little bite. Though it was nowhere near a complete meal, I took the leftovers home for lunch the next day- there was no way I was leaving it behind!
Eno Terra certainly lived up to its reputation for excellent food and caring service.
The food was delicious and well prepared and the service was outstanding.
It was really nice to have dinner not only in a very lovely atmosphere but
also in a restaurant where you could actually hear and converse with everyone at the
table - a rarity today in many dining places!
What a lovely restaurant. We were greeted with a smile, seated immediately and our server Greg was terrific. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious, beautiful prepared and the wine selection is great. Valet parking is a plus. Will definitely be returning to this gem.
I wasn't impressed with my recent visit. We had a tuna tartar app, it was very fresh and very good. Two cups of mushroom soup, these was very good, but portion size was just a tease. It wasn't unilt the main entrees is where it started to go down hill. I had Lobster fra diavolo, with squid ink pasta, it was OK , but not OMG outstanding. The other entree was grilled sword fish, which was so salty it couldn't be eaten. They offered a new piece of fish, however by the time it came out I was done with my Lobster fra diavolo, I tried to wait but it was getting cold, so my date ate by herself. And the second piece while not as salty was still undesirably salty. The Flour less chocolate cake dessert was OK. For the price of this meal, everything should have been outstanding!
We started with drinks at the bar. Jamie was excellent, friendly, informative, and helpful. And the Manhattan made with the whiskey aged in the small cask was excellent.
Dinner was also excellent. We really enjoyed the Salumi & Formaggi (cheese and meat appetizer), although the amount of cheese was really small. We also enjoyed a half portion of the Zitoni as an appetizer - it was rich and delicious!
We had the Flat Iron steaks, cooked perfectly with an delicious combination is Shishito peppers, escarole, carrots and onions. We also enjoyed the Braised Veal, Mushroom Tagliatelle. Both are highly recommended.
fun time on New Year's Eve - one suggestion, for the tables that will be at the restaurant for the strike of midnight, need party hats and noise makers!!! A small bit of festivities, however, it was a lot of fun due to the wait staff and diner fabulous due to our friends in the kitchen.
Now that one of our other favorite fine dining restaurants in Princeton has closed, this is at the top of our regional list. On our most recent visit, we went for New Year's Eve, when Eno Terra was offering only a special four-course tasting menu. The restaurant was packed, and service was spotty and the pacing of the meal was more than a little problematic. But the first three of the four courses were terrific. The octopus starter with squid ink was a knockout, and the short rib main course was deliciously seasoned and succulent--though the advertised side of parsnip puree was in short supply. Only the dessert disappointed; I had a fruit crumble that was almost an afterthought (we literally thought they might have run out, and made a new batch at the last second, accounting for the fact that the consistency and flavor profiles were off).
We always have a great meal at Eno, meaning that the food is reliably fantastic. We have eaten here many times. New Years Eve was very busy (not surprising), but they did not seem to be prepared for that. Our server was semi-attentive and there were mis-cues that could have been easily avoided. We were served the incorrect entree (finding out later that it should have gone to the table next to us) and never received one of the four courses in the prix fixe menu. They did compensate us 10% for the missing course. The food was delicious; the wine was superb; and our dinner was not ruined by the mistakes.
