Absolutely outstanding, from start to finish. Thanks to Jackie, our server, and Aaron, the manager, for the first class experience. Highly recommended: local scallop crudo starter, as well as the squid. Hush puppies were fluffy and decadent. Seared tuna was cleverly served with chickpeas and herb salad as accompaniments. See you soon!

Our dining experience was normal nothing extraordinary. My husband received the wrong beer. It was never rectified. The beer battered onion rings were extremely greasy with not enough sauce. My husband enjoyed the fried chicken skin. The deviled eggs were good. The veggie burger was dense and I couldn’t finish it. It had a very nice mushroom flavor.

Food portions are very small for what you pay. It’s like an overpriced pub- burger and beer can be 25-30 after tip,and you will be hungry

My sister and I went to Engine Room on Saturday night and we split the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. We also shared a side of french fries and mac n' cheese. Not only was the food phenomenal, but the service was outstanding. Our waitress had the sandwich split in half for us, with our own mini side of french fries, and it didn't cost extra to split. She was able to accommodate our drink request when we asked for a specific type of margarita. Will definitely be coming back!!

The Engine Room's atmosphere is nice, but definitely busy on weekends so be prepared. Drinks were good and the apps, but the burgers we got for the entree were super salty and similarly the fries were salty. We've been going here for many years, but now less frequently as we moved further away. Portions seem to have gotten smaller. They still have a majority of their older menu items, but they taste somewhat different every time we eat there. Overall not bad, but not the same as we used to enjoy it.

The food was just ok. I had a burger and instead of a starch I ordered the Brussel sprouts. The burger was fair. The flavor was by way of the cheese, bacon and mayo. The burger itself was flavorless. The sprouts were underdone and also lacked most of the intended flavor. The decor is fun, but the noise level was INSANE. I understand late afternoon happy hours, but patrons were literally screaming. We were seated at the bar and the room was so full that standing patrons were literally bumping up against us as we sat and ate. Too small of a space for that many people in the bar. BTW, the reason we were in the bar is that our reservation was errantly made for 4 people when we actually had 5 (our bad), but the staff could not accommodate turning a 4 into a 5 in the dining room. Seems inflexible.

Overall, the restaurant is pretty pretentious considering its humble location. The food was decent, albeit overpriced, service was scattered, and any requests aside from the status quo were met with uncertain replies from staff. I think there are better dining options in the Mystic area.

I think they forgot to mix the hot sauce for the Nashville hot chicken- because it was basically fried chicken with red colored butter drowning it- no flavor at all. I told the waitress, but she just said okay thank you. Never another word about it. 1/4 of the mussels in the appetizer didn't open- not a great sign. Good place for drinks.

Easter morning brunch was delicious and beautifully prepared-we loved it so much we went back for a late dinner that night. The restaurant is very cool looking, service is friendly and I wish we lived closer to visit again. Highly recommend-and they made a special breakfast for my young son which he loved with exactly what he wanted💕

Really enjoyed our lunch at the Engine Room. My daughter and I shared a cheeseburger and cobb salad, both dishes were delicious. The salad had unique and very fresh ingredients, the burger's meat was top notch and cooked perfectly. Nice casual atmosphere, perfect for a mid-day break while visiting Mystic.

Ordered a grass fed burger with no onions. I cut it in half and it had onions. The waitress said she would take care of it, came back a minute later with a new one. It was a burger cut in half, in a new bun that someone scraped onions off of. When I spoke to the manager he was condescending and said that the practice is to scrape food off when a mistake is made. I wouldn't trust their kitchen or their sarcastic manager.

Great food and service. It was earlier in the night so not too crowded but parking was still an issue. They only have a small lot in front and another small lot around the corner. We got the last spot and others were circling.

The service and food was very good. We made a reservation for three early and ended up seated at a two person table. That was a bit cramped and with a chair near traffic. The noise level is fine if you are interested in an energetic bar scene. For a dinner conversation it is a bit noisy.

Went on a Saturday with a reservation and were seating right on time. Drinks and appetizers were good. My fiancé ordered the Love Handles, which she enjoyed but wished was labeled as a hot drink.

Our entrees were awful. We both got the pork ribs, which sounded fantastic but were tougher than beef jerky. The rub on them tasted good, but they were so tough and so hard to eat that they were completely unenjoyable. We both left feeling unsatified and regretted not sending them back. We expected fall off the bone and tender and got the exact opposite. These were the worst ribs I’ve ever had. Honestly I couldn’t believe there would be something that awful on the menu.

We might give this place another shot if we are ever in Mystic again, but I wouldn’t eat those ribs again even if they were free.

We made reservations for 2 on a Saturday night, we were seated promptly when we arrived, menus were delivered along with a bottle of cold water, we soon ordered apps and beers and they were both delivered quickly, I ordered the fried catch of the day and it was very good, my wife ordered the chopped salad , it was very good but by definition of a chopped salad it was not chopped into smaller pieces as she expected, we also ordered the onion ring tower which is excellent , this was our second time here, I highly recommend making a reservation

There have been some changes at the Engine Room. We were surprised by the soggy slaw side. The steamed mussels are usually a treat and I especially looked forward to the sourdough bread that acccompanies it. No more sourdough! The remoulade sauce on my husband’s fish sandwich was way too spicy for the fish. We always had fresh, crispy, balanced, and fantastic food there. We hope this is a temporary low for this restaurant.

The food at Engine Room was fantastic! We all really enjoyed what we ordered. The noise level was slightly high, but it fit the ambiance & we weren't bothered by it. The service was a tad slow, but it was fine. We weren't in a rush. It was also a very busy Sunday. We'll be back for sure!

Food was delicious as usual. This is a halfway point for my friends and I so we drive an hour to get there. We normally look forward to an evening catching up and aren't normally rushed. My only negative experience was we felt rushed this night. More than once staff tried to remove our plates while we were still eating. Then while 2 of us still had wine in our glasses we were told that a group has been waiting for a while and there were circumstances that required them to have our table. We were told we could move to the bar but we weren't going to order another drink so we declined. A round of drinks were removed from the bill which we appreciated but it was disappointing for us to end our night early.

The Engine Room is outstanding! Upon arrival, we were seated immediately. We were greeted promptly at our table and the hostess came back with glasses of champagne wishing us a happy anniversary. The food was incredible from appetizer (I recommend the mussels) to dinner (The steak of the day) to dessert (monkey bread with a German Chocolate shake)! I highly recommend coming here anytime!💝
