Best steak preparation I have had in a very long time. Perfect cook and sear! Compliments to the chef!
Loved the atmosphere and the food was excellent. A must when in Mystic!
At those prices, they should be able to cook a burger to temp. Ordered a rare burger, it came medium well.
We had a great time. Had a reservation, had no wait, food and drinks were great. We will be back.
Phenomenal wait staff for our table. Great burger. Fries too much pepper. Onion rings greasy. corn bread and butter fantastic. apple walnut cake terrific.
This is the 6th time that I’ve been lucky enough to dine here. It fits the bill for any occasion. Out for a motorcycle ride with friends& need a cocktail. With friends for dinner. Deviled eggs & steaks. For a romantic night out with my wife for wonderfully crafted cocktails. Great location, scenery & bar tenders are top notch. Can’t wait for another reason to go.
Great food, had a good time. I will be back. Great selection of beer. Great sandwiches.
Good evening. Waitress was great but failed to tell us about items no longer on menu-ones we wanted! Very good beer selection wine very over priced. Highly recommend Veggie Burger
Tazty food, but we had to ask for more water, more coffee and remind the waiter about the side dish I asked for. Also the bathroom was not terribly clean (toilet paper on the floor) and was tiny!
Dinner and drinks. Food was spot on, hot and timely. 1st round of drinks took a little bit of time, but nothing major.
Food was great. A few of the beers on the tap list were crossed out, and the server made the mistake of telling us that they weren’t going to be replaced because they were saving the good beer for a special brunch the next day. I had made reservations a few weeks in advance for a weekend away with my wife, and that just relegated us to second-rate guests. Also, another server came over and asked to take the extra chair at our table. We said of course. She took my wife’s jacket off the chair and just handed it to me. Shouldn’t she have taken it to hang on the coat rack? The atmosphere was great and, as I mentioned, so was the food. Just two minor incidents that turned us off a bit.
I wish I didn’t have to drive home that night, otherwise I would have explored their beer menu (with a huge selection of local craft brews of all kinds) in much greater detail. Their Monday night craft beer/burger combo special is highly recommended
Amazing as always!
It was a quiet evening for two friends to catch up. Seats were comfortable, and the couple sitting next to us were very willing to share what their favorite menu items were. The menu had changed since I was there last, so it was nice to have a "regulars " input.
Very nice for
Have been here a few times. Food is always really good - hush puppies and Mac and cheese are awesome. We had brisket sandwich and burgers this time - both delicious. Kids menu is available. The place can get loud and service can be spotty as it is always crowded. We were sat this time without menus and were told there were no more cause a large party of 14-16 was sat right near us and they gave them all to them, which was odd, after a follow they scrubbed one up for us to share. If you can be patient, the food is worth it! Kids food is not run of the mill and if your kid is picky they may not be a huge fan but it is all good and fresh
First time dining at the Engine Room and loved it! Cobb salad was anything but ordinary with melt-in-your mouth pork belly, scotch egg and fried bleu cheese, and the cocktails were delicious as well. Excellent, friendly service and warm environment added to the charm. Will definitely be back!
Excellent potato salad served in a cute metal "cup."
Hamburger very hard to cut through because of a very hard outside. Waitress said that is how they are normally made. Meat from local suppliers.
Excellent sour cherry beer.
Ambience and food are top notch here. Gotta check out the chicken burger or the grass fed burger. Either will not disappoint!
Incredible food! Outstanding experience! Go back every time I am in Mystic.
Industrial decor with comfort food. Great spot to meet up with friends for brunch or lunch. Food was solid.
Excellent selection in Mystic.
Have gone there often.
We enjoyed our dinner at Engine Room very much. I had been there for lunch with a friend and enjoyed it very much. It had a very different vibe on a Friday night, and we found the area where we were seated to be a bit noisy and crowded. Still, food was very good, especially the desserts.
Our party of 3 found the noise level to be extremely high. Food was good, selection of beer and cocktails were very good
Great spot. Great burgers. Had the grass fed. Not sure they remembered everything that was supposed to go on it but no matter - the sautéed onions were amazing. Onion rings are big, some of the best we’ve had. Only complaint about food is that Grilled Brussels sprouts were cold in lots of spots.
Good draft beer choices. A little rushed with waitstaff but place is packed. Nice atmosphere. Place to be. But make reservations!
Awesome. Great job.
Overall, satisfied. Food quality was great. I was impressed with the service starting out but it came up short the longer we were there.
It's a nice comfortable atmosphere to dine in. We ordered some appetizers from the happy hour menu which were solid and inexpensive.
For dinner we ordered some burgers medium rare but they were overcooked, however, very flavorful. They came with a side of well seasoned, but not so crispy fries.
We love Engine Room. Do yourself a favor and get the chicken and waffles! And a side of hush puppies if you're feeling decadent. Plus their milkshakes are works of art. Everything is outstanding, though, if these things aren't your style. The mussels, and the burgers, are favorites in my family. Just go! You will not regret it!
Great dinner, we wnjoyed the prix fixe menu for Mystic’s Restaurant Week. Everyone in our group enjoyed the food, but it took us forever to decide on drinks since the beer list is quite extensive and sort of complicated, if you aren’t familiar with some craft beer and international beer lingo. The blondie brownie dessert would have benefited from a chocolate chip or two and a tad more salt. Otherwise everything was yummy.
we had a reservation and we arrived 10 minutes early and they seated us right away. seating is a bit crowded but this place is worth it. If you're looking for a quiet romantic place this isn't it. The food was delicious. My wife got a basic cheeseburger and loved it , very tasty and large, the fries were delicious. I got the steak of the day . It was a New York sirloin that was the most tender sirloin I have ever had. the potatoes were delicious and the carrots were fabulous. I would recommend this restaurant to any one spending any time in mystic. We are not drinkers but the whiskey/bourbon menu was large.
Thank you for all the memories, Engine Room! Always our place to mark special occasions.
Always excellent food. Never disappoints.
Usually hard to get a table without a reservation.
Delicious and flavor-filled menu, great for casual dinner or shared appetizers. Unique cocktails and rotating local taps. I visit every time I am in town!
Sunny side up egg wasn't cooked thoroughly, brisket in Benedict was too fatty, waited 10 minutes for coffee
Have been there 6 times for brunch, ask for a booth every time, but never get one, even though we always have reservations
Rum Bloody Mary was outstanding
Overall pleasant brunch experience. Service was slightly lacking, our server seemed to be distracted. For the price, the Eggs Benedict should be served with a side of smashed potatoes, not just the cornbread it’s served over. I’d love to try other items on their menu but I’m not sure I’d make the trip there again but if I had friends in the area, I’d tell them to check the place out (with reservations).
Expected so much more. The food left us both unimpressed and then feeling ill. Maybe it was an off night.
My friend and I randomly chose this as a meeting spot for lunch, and we are SO glad we did! Great food, hip vibe, and wonderful service. We’ll be back!
The food was a little pricey but delicious. The noise level was off the charts. Would impress a first date for sure, but too loud for meaningful conversation.
I had a mushroom burger there once.. Loved it. Every time we return I want to order another one but something else catches my eye. Monkfish won out and so did I. It was roasted to perfection placed on top of a brown sugar sweet potato puree with a kale, bacon, pecan side. It was amazing ! The beer selection is plentiful and we enjoyed a Les Bons Voeux it was aromatic, rich and velvety. Cant wait to come back !!
Service and the burgers were fantastic. If you want a great creative burger go to The Engine Room!!
