Great sushi and it’s BYOB. I love the Eagle roll. Great staff
At the last minute on Friday, we decided to give Engimono a try. It was a great experience! We ordered shrimp shumai and split several rolls. Everything was well made and fresh tasting. The specialty rolls were creative. Everything was fairly priced for a sushi dinner. It did take a while to get our food, but it was a rainy Friday night so they were probably also slammed with take out and delivery orders. We were not in a rush and didn't mind, but something to keep in mind if you have plans afterwards. The space is a little small so it's a bit loud. Great place for a few friends or existing significant other, but maybe not for a first date. This is a great addition to the neighborhood and we will definitely be back!!
Good sushi. Loved the eagle roll. Hibachi fried rice was also a hit. It had tons of shrimp in it. loved that it was BYOB will definitely come back. Cons if you’re not in the area there is no parking
One of the best sushi places in and around Philly for sure. Everything is fresh, the ambiance is perfect. And for the prices they charge, simply cannot beat this place.
Great food in a casual setting in this enjoyable neighborhood BYO.
Our dinner was excellent and the service was very good for a busy Valentine's Day.
Sushi was not very good for the price. The green dragon roll was a big disappointment. The eel tasted more like tuna or imitation crab or something. Service was great and they kept our water filled and everyone was very polite. Ambience was cute. Still food was not worth it. Will not be back.
I’ve been here many times so I can officially say Engimono is my new favorite sushi place. The Dancing Shrimp Roll is my go-to but every other roll I’ve had is also very good!
PS: the ginger dressing in their salad is one of the best!
Awesome place for a date night. We will be back very soon!
It's always delicious. We had kani salad which was the best we have ever had. the rolls were yummy and we also had an appetizer which was tuna wrapped around kani salad....fabulous!!! always happy to be at this gem. thank you
They gave me a free special roll and dessert since it was my birthday! Sushi was fantastic! Love this place!!!
I love this recent addition the Fairmount!!! I’ve been there twice now and had specialty rolls and Chicken teriyaki. Both were fantastic! Will definitely come back.
There were four of us at dinner. Two of us ordered teriyaki. One was shrimp and the other chicken. They were both very good. The other 2 ordered sushi which was also very good. the only thing is that even though I made reservations on Open Table they didn't know how to let Open Table know we were there. I called OT and explained to them the situation and they gave me the 100 points. Hopefully by now they know how to do it.
Food was not good, tried multiple rolls and was not impressed by any of them. The servers were very nice but stared at us while we ate which was uncomfortable. The ambiance is also very very strange, with flashing neon lights that look like a night club. There were TV's on near where we sat that had FX and TNT on with the sound playing...not exactly a great feel while eating out. Overall a very poor experience, won't be coming back again. Umai Umai in Fairmount is infinitely better.
Fantastic neighborhood sushi. We live in the area and love to walk, so I can’t attest to its destination dining credentials, but we are so glad to have it in the area. The sashimi is excellent. A silly test for us is a spicy tuna roll. So often this is old and/or poor quality tuna covered in sauce and used as needed. Good sushi restaurants use the same fish, dice it fresh and add the fresh sauce. Engimono’s is incredibly fresh. All there rolls taste as though they’re made with the same fresh, careful hand. It is moderately priced and BYOB!
When it comes to Opentable, Fairmount has very few places listed. This place is small but the sushi is tasty. It's not the cheapest sushi, but it certainly isn't the most expensive either. Decor is somewhat of an unusual choice- very modern, chic. I think for the price, you can find equivalent yet cheaper sushi in the Northeast and in the Jersey burbs, but for the location it is probably what you'd expect to pay.
