I made a reservation one week prior to the date at 5PM. It was just my son and I. I have been taking my son here for a while as he loves the cooking entertainment. This time however, I checked in and the host said there’s no room at the grill so we would have to take a regular seat. I told him about my reservation and I made a week ago on Open Table App. I spoke with the manager (Short bald Asian guy) and he said even though I made a reservation on Open Table, I still have to call the same day to make a reservation for the grill. I was in shock because that has never happened nor did I ever have to do that. I told him that system is dumb. Why bother making reservations on Open Table yet I still have to call the restaurant to make a reservation. Needless to say, I will never go back. Even though Benihana is further away, I’ll take my business over there instead.
Great quality of food and servers are very attentive. 10/10 overall. My favorite restaurant to dine in for special occasions.
Food is really good! Service was great! The only bad thing is the place is poorly ventilated (it's a teppan grill place, so I get that smoke travels). It was very warm inside and while it smells good when you first walk in, be prepared to leave smelling like a teppan grill! lol
Overall I would go back again. Hopefully they use their AC more.
Very noisy! Hard to hear servers and others at our table. Service very slow and servers not very attentive. Very minimal on utensils,table set up. Food was quite good, but took a long time to be served and arrived just warm. Overall, not a good expeience.
Jules is a wonderful server and as always food was excellent. So happy this restaurant survived California’s attempt at destroying the little private restaurants.

We were a party of 9 and had kids with us. It was such a fun experience thanks to the super talented chef who made it so entertaining! The food was really good!!! Drinks were bomb!! Give this place an A++ for sure!!
Made the reservation for chef table. Made an extra call to ensure we will be seated at chef table. Arrived on time, was told it’ll be 20 min before they can seat us at chef table. Then was told it’ll be 45 minutes. We proceeded to order food at regular table. Prices were about the same as chef table. Ordered 30 pc sashimi and server came back and said they can only give us 12 pc. When we walked passed the sushi bar they still had tons of sushi. Food was ok but will not return!!!! Reservations don’t mean you will get seated and served at the time and request you want.

I wish they had the cooking show .. the food was a lil cold and lack of sauce . the other japanese bbq houses that i have been to add some kind of sauce and i believe that it really adds some taste . The beef was kind of rubbery, they beed to change the provider for sure ! Scallops were great .. so I highly recommend the chef to try the food before serving .
People working in this place needs to smile more and check the food they are serving you because i got a coke twice and the cup was so dirty, really unsanitary plus the spoons and plates look dirty. This is a Japanese restaurant the people working here doesn't speak Japanese nor is knowledgeable about the menu. When they gave us the ice cream they gave us a spoon for soup? It was difficult for my child to even get any ice cream because the spoon was too big. Expensive restaurant but not clean. Japanese are known for their cleanliness. They need to hire people who is polite and act like they really wana work here, because they dont look happy with their job.
Ordered Steak & Lobster and it was delish! Will def come again.
This was my first time at Encore Teppan and the experience was great. Delicious food and excellent customer service. They really attend to you at this location.
Never seated. When we arrived for our reservation we were told there was an additional hour and a half wait. Not cool. Why bother making a reservation on Mother’s Day. They also told us “the county won’t let us cook teppan style”. Funny. They seated us right away and cooked in front of us down the street at Benihana.
Waited for my food for 35 minutes people around me that order after me we’re done eating when I decide to get up and leave without eating place might be nicer if they allowed tepan they weren’t allowing it du to Covid 5-7-21

I was pleasantly surprised!! First time there and it was really great! Ambience was lively, very loud as my kid stated. Food and service was on point!! Will definitely be visiting again!

Due to COVID we sat outside and there wasn’t at the table cooking, but the food was excellent (we got mostly sushi) and the evening was fabulous
Overall, this was a nice outdoor experience given COVID-19. I was in town as an overnight layover and spent time with my sister and her family. Encore Teppan was one of the few options that was available for dining. Overall, the food was good and drinks even better. It was 115 degrees outside and we were able to get shaded outdoor seating. The service was fantastic! Our servers were attentive and always made sure we had drinks refilled given the heat wave! I would definitely recommend this and will look to come back next time I'm in town!

Steak was not cook, inside was cold. The cook forgot the lobster, again the lobster wasn’t cook. Then he didn’t give any sauce, the waitress found out and brought them at the end. Not a good memory for my valentine this time.
First off I had reservations Through open table at 7:15 didn’t get seated till quarter to 8. All this while pleanty off tables not being used I have eaten here many times before the service is horrible and always has been so needless to say this was my last time eating there
Our reservations were for 7pm. We FINALLY got seated at 7:30. The chef got to us at 8pm.
He was great and the food was super. But there were NO busboys, the tables around us were not cleaned. Not a good experience. We'll be going someplace else next. Not here.
We have been coming here since it opened and have a great experience every time. Food is always delicious and the chefs always entertaining. Staff is friendly and accommodating. The fried rice is our favorite - love that garlic buttery goodness! I always get steak and lobster: steak is always as ordered (medium rare) and lobster is still tender (and buttery!). They have a good choice of beer. I don’t normally order appetizers but occasionally we will order a roll or sashimi: fresh and tasty. Thanks for being a local favorite!
Restaurant needs to a better job training employees, starting with the manager. Customer service is paramount in this industry. There is no excuse for seating a party of 7 for close to an hour before being asked if everything was okay. This is a Teppan style restaurant. Sitting around waiting for the chef to show up with no warning that they “were busy” is absolutely unacceptable.
Upon reaching out to the on-duty manager, instead of apologizing, the first thing out of his mouth was “didn’t anyone tell you our chef rotation was messed up?” Really? I’d that my problem ?? Additionally, I’m trying to have a discussion with the manager and he starts looking all over the place and not looking at me. I though this was extremely rude.
Open Table needs to make it very clear that reservations are for non-teppanyaki services. Who wants to go to a Teppan restaurant, order from a menu and have the food prepared in the back of the kitchen?
In closing, you’re better off going to Benihana. Much better restaurant management, larger venue, and quite frankly, the food is very comparable.
I made reservations for 5:30 on a Friday evening to celebrate my Dad and Father in law’s Birthday. When we got there , we were seated promptly, but didnt have anyone take our drink orders for at least 15 minutes. It was 6:00 by the time we got drinks and another 15 minutes passed before anyone took our food order. Its seems apparent to me that Encore is under staffed. This has been an issue for the last 3 or 4 times we have gone there. Service is not what it used to be anymore. Its a shame because the servers are very friendly and the food is amazing , but lack of employees hurts the dining experience. Nobody wants to wait an hour for their food! I hope management figures this out before people stop coming and they are forced to close the doors.
We had a reservation, but the wait staff was understaffed so it took over 20 minutes to prepare our empty table for 13 people as they had to clear it. They weren't keeping up with the clearing of tables. Then it took another 15 minutes for the server to come around. And another 10 minutes for our chef because the range wasn't hot enough. Despite the wait, I would recommend it because the show was unique. They cooked popcorn on the range. That was a first for any Teppan restaurant we've been to. Liked the show and enjoyed the food which was good. If it weren't for the 45-minute wait for a table that was already empty when we arrived, I'd give it a better score.

Waited for food for 2 hours on an empty Sunday early evening. Waiter forgot to put in our order. He didn’t bring dessert for birthday celebration because said “ you guys don’t really want it right?” He was talking with guest he knew at the bar though. After being patient I requested the manager. He seemed lost and didn’t know what to do. He never came back to check on us. Nice place been here a few times even had a party but this was the worst.never again.
Service has just really been great here lately. They have found their groove. The food is excellent. The drinks were delicious and the servers were attentive. All in all, wonderful
We try to meet our usual group of friends at least once a week for drinks and dinner and we usually end up at Encore because of the great service we get from Quinton! The sushi is always presented in a beautiful fashion and is very fresh. It can get very noisy once the Teppan grill opens at 5:00 so get there earlier if you want to just chill with drinks. The only negative remarks I have are regarding the slow delivery of food . We had a group of 6 and some of us were already finished eating our first and second course of sushi before others had gotten served anything. I think they need more chefs. This was a Friday evening and they should have been more prepared. Other than that I still give Encore 5 stars for food quality and great staff!
I really love this place. Always a go to for my wife and I. Great space and the drinks are amazing! The chefs are fun to talk to and walks make the trip worthwhile.
This is a great teppan. Our Chef Rodger was the best. He had us laughing and eating garlic infused buttered popcorn and watching him cook was fantastic. We were there for a birthday and he sure made it memorable! :)
We’ve been coming here since it opened and typically have enjoyed great service. Recent visits have been disappointing with an under staffed restaurant. Our favorite server, Quinton, made the best mixed drinks and always gave us great service. He was moved to work in the back kitchen, which I think was a huge mistake because his personality and service was what kept us and our group of friends coming back every Friday evening. This Friday’s dinner was great! Prepared by a newer sushi chef, I did not get her name though. She was the only chef working the sushi bar, and was backed up with too many orders. There needs to be 2 chefs, like it used to be. Our main course orders came out before we even got our appetizer, which was edemame, really??? Management needs to step up before us Diamond Bar regulars find somewhere else to go, with better service
