Live music every Thursday from 7-10 pm and Ladies night every Wednesday featuring 1/2 price bottles of wine.
We have had great experiences in the past. I don’t know if the owner was away or there is new ownership, but we were highly disappointed. 4 tables, 6 staff and we were not fortunate enough to get seated with the 1 of 6 actively working. Thirsty the entire meal. Drinks filled once. Front door kept open on a July evening made it worse. The collective staff remained huddled around the bar. Too many choices downtown to risk consecutive poor experiences.
Would definitely choose to dine here again. Friendly staff and good eats for the price.
The food was good but the service was not great our waitress spent more time at the bar talking than working. The food was the only star. Atmosphere was very basic and not cohesive.
Great service and tasty innovative dishes. Somewhat noisy.
Just a bar with fancy sounding food that is not fancy
The lamb lollipops are my favorite dish in Greenville. One day I'll branch out and try other menu items!
Fantastic food and service! Will definitely go back!
First let me say that the food here is very creative and well presented. Ariele, our server was delightful. However, she was alone in trying to serve all the tables in the restaurant. The two ladies hanging around the hostess stand seemed oblivious to the customers at times they weren’t occupied and could have pitched in. We sat at least 15 minutes with our finished meal dishes on the table. We wanted to order dessert as well, but didn’t get attention for quite sometime. I finally had to get up and go to the bar to request a refill on water. Refilling water and clearing dishes were two tasks that anyone could have done and helped Ariel out a bit. Our dinner ended up taking a couple of hours unnecessarily. There are times I want a long, leisurely dinner, but this wasn’t it. Sitting for extended periods of time with no food or drink (or finished plates) on the table is not enjoyable. Too bad, because again, creative food and cocktails, and a wonderful (overburdened) server do not make up for the lack of customer service.
Great food and experience. Incredible desserts. Only change I would make is some kind of flagship sauce for the apps. Garlic aioli was good, but wanted a bit more than that.
First time to Encore Gastrolounge. They still had the Valentine’s Day prix fixe menu. We shared the chorizo stuffed dates, each had the beet salad, I had the duck, my husband had the snapper ans we split a creme brulee. The food was all excellent and the staff was super nice. My only complaint is that we felt like we were being rushed through the meal. Our entrees arrived before we finished our salads and dessert was on its way when we asked if they could give us a few minutes between the entree and dessert. They were very nice about it and waited. I don’t know why the rush. There were empty tables, so no one was waiting for our table.
Great food and great atmosphere.
The manager is amazing great service, food is very good.
Food was great. Atmosphere was great. Service was even better.
Second time here. Great ambiance and wait staff. Group of 6 and most items ordered were delicious. Lamb was a little too done. Risotto, Duck Fat fries and burger was excellent
A bit too noisy for my taste. But food was tasty
Food was great!! Sat bye the door so cold draft all night. Also, had to ask for our water to be refilled a couple time.
There was a private party that night so the regular dinner guest had to shout over noise level.
But, here is the thing. We had a great time anyway. We lived the food and vibe so we will be back.
Perfect spot for quiet conversation, great food and excellent service. Can also see this as a great spot to enjoy with a group to take advantage of the lounge seating and awesome cocktail menu!
I was very disappointed in this place. The seating options are horrible! The food was creative, but cold and sloppy in taste. I had the Short Ribs, they were so overdone with smoke flavor (either from a smoke gun or artificial smoke flavoring) I could not eat them and the risotto was cold. The garlic aioli on the fries just seemed to be plopped on them, a drizzle would have presented better and would have tasted more composed. The cocktails were good and the service was great. The desserts were impeccable.
We visited Encore for a Friday night restaurant week dinner. It was a lovely time! While we accommodated for the usual disparities created by the busyness of restaurant week, it seemed like Encore was trying to be a little more sleek and professional than we had expected, which felt a little out of place. They were focused on getting us in, and then out, and rushed all of our courses. They also did pretty small pours for their wine tasting, which was a little disappointing. However, the food was worth savoring. Apart from the creative, but not crazy, entrees, the desserts were fabulous. I had a luxurious apple cake/cheesecake creation and tasted a delectable chocolate hazelnut dish. and the plating was excellent. It has a great atmosphere and even though it became loud in there, it was never overwhelming for our group of mid-20 somethings.
How did I just find out about this place, will be one our "go-to" places from now on, superb friendly service, and reasonably priced food. give this place a try, you won't be disappointed.
The hostess and our server were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the food.
Great food. We went for a birthday during restaurant week. The options and pricing were excellent. We did wine pairing. The food, wine and experience was great.
Unfortunately, we never got seated at our table. We were tired of waiting so we ate at the bar. The waitress was extremely nice and apologetic, however, the food took forever to come out. The food itself was not good. I had the duck. The waitress did comp one of our desserts for the wait time so I appreciated that she acknowledged this. Overall, this is a great place for a drink and maybe an appetizer but I would not recommend it for dinner.
Had duck, not very flavorful. Lower price point than most restaurants, but would not order again. Seared tuna salad was very good.
The meal was not memorable. It was good but not great. There are too many great restaurants and new restaurants to try to go to a not memorable restaurant.
Duck was amazing! Very impressed with the service and the atmosphere
Great food and service. Recommend the duck fat fries, lamb and all the desserts.
Great location near the heart of downtown! The lounge seating layout is what attracted me to the venue; very accommodating and chic. Great service-Had a party of 7 and greeted as soon as we entered. Food choices were a plus, offered a variety to choose from. I definitely recommend this place and will be back!
My new favorite place to eat in gree. I love the lamb chops and the hamburgers.
Enjoyed the specialty cocktails!! Food was creative and unique
We loved it. It was the first time for 6 of us. Would come here again and recommend to others. Very friendly and out standing food choices!!!
This is a small restaurant. We were a group of five and had reservations. Unfortunately there were few options for groups of five and the group who occupied the seat which had been reserved for us did not get their food in a timely manner and then decided to visit after their meal. Result was we were crowded into a small table and seated next to a group of twenty or more who were energetically sharing stories. It was so loud we could not hear to converse even though it was only two feet across the table. That was the bad news. The good news is the food was EXCELLENT and a good value. The management tried to manage the situation and gave us complimentary Brussel sprouts and a discount on the drinks. I will go back but will probably not book a group there again. I was impressed by the food and appreciated the efforts to make a bad situation better.
The ambiance was nice, service good. The duck fat fries were good, brussel sprouts were fabulous! Hamburger was over cooked which I should’ve been suspicious of when the server didn’t ask how we wanted it cooked. The rabbit was a very small portion but tasty. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly but lacked flavor completely. Under seasoned and the dipping sauce also had no flavor. Whatever the side was void of flavor and had that Erie slimy okra texture. Overall nothing was special enough to take us back. Drinks and prices just ok, not convenient enough location to bring us in as foot traffic.
Girls night out
Waitress was friendly. The snapper was very good.
Fabulous food and staff. Really great to find such s great venue late st night.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here celebrating my daughter's 18th birthday. The desserts were delicious, and they made her feel very special! We especially appreciated all the extra touches, like the sparkler in her dessert and "Happy 18th Birthday" written beautifully on her plate. This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion or just to relax with fantastic food!
Great place for small plates, drinks and dessert.
Truly a gem in the West End!! It has such an inviting atmosphere and really cool decor. You can go and sit at the bar and be casual, opt for one of the comfy couches for a more cozy visit or sit at the tables and enjoy fabulous food!! Live music is a nice bonus later in the week. It’s become my new favorite go-to…great food, creative cocktails and very friendly staff/service…I have nothing bad to say…
First of all, we had a fun evening with friends here and overall the food was good. However, we are spoiled in Greenville with some of the best restaurants and so comparatively I’d say Encore is average. I think if they made the effort to make things just one notch more special they will do just fine. For example, yummy duck fat fries but they could have been more crispy. Risotto fell a little short being crunchy and not really creamy like I was hoping. There is also room for improvement with the ambiance. Even though we had a reservation, we were seated on a loveseat with a petite coffee table for our dining table. Honestly it was pretty uncomfortable to have no back rest and constantly lean forward and down to eat each bite. The poor servers had to bend down so low every time they delivered something. We didn’t have room for four drinks and an appetizer on the table so the server moved over a second coffee table. Once the restaurant got crowded we were offered a regular height table and chairs and so we jumped at the opportunity to relieve our aching backs! All the drinks were super yummy!
