Amazing, unique atmosphere. Cheap, strong mimosas. Quality brunch. I had the turkey confit hash bowl. It was a large portion and very tasty!! Our server was a little on the slow side with getting our drinks to us and taking our order. But it was a busy Sunday brunch so understandable. I recommend getting a seat outside if the weathers nice!
Overall my experience was pleasant. Pricing is a little higher than some places but based on the presentation and taste of my dish (Turkey Hash) it was worth it. Noise level was a little loud at times, but tolerable.
Hope to see them add yummy hot drinks to the brunch menu some time in the near future.
The egg sandwich was killer and accompanied by a wonderfully fresh salad. My friend was not a fan of the migas, but the sandwich more than made up for it. Great cocktails and music.
The cocktails and appetizers were good (the pastrami was amazing - better than Katz’s!) The entrees not so much. We had goat tacos and risotto and both were meh. Many items had a cinnamon and cardamom flavor that became tiresome. For the price, you can get much better food elsewhere.
Great food, service and drinks. I would recommend Encina to everyone.
Menu was interesting and food was tasty. Servers were maybe not very experienced.
Had a large group (max reservation size on OpenTable is 8 but was able to secure a larger reservation with a call and deposit) for a birthday and service + food were great! We had one server and were a bit nervous just because of our group size but he did fantastic and the food was delicious. Definitely recommend!
First visit to Encina for dinner. Cool place with a comfortable atmosphere. The kitchen is part of the room so enjoy the action .
The food, all I can say is WOW. The simple salad with greens was delicious. The combination of blue cheese and lardons..... amazing... and the perfect complement...... the light dressing
Then onto the entree. I ordered the ricotta gnocchi ......this is not your grandmother’s gnocchi. We lived in Chicago for many years and NEVER had gnocchi prepared in this way and this good. It’s unique and Delicious!
My wife had the mussels and they were equally delicious. They were prepared in a broth made with beer, onion, chorizo, poblanos, lemon and cilantro. And the service was very good as well. In our opinion, it’s a top 10 restaurant in Dallas. Thanks for a great experience!
Love that I can have a conversation and also a great environment for brunch!
This is the first time we've been back to the space since Bolsa closed and was reformatted as this place.
The physical patio space has been improved by new construction.
The chef and most of the staff are the same, which is good, because they're all wonderful people.
We'll go back often. We used to go to Bolsa every other week or so, and we'll return to doing that here
We sat at the bar and Creighton was wonderful! He made delicious cocktails, was very attentive and also fun to talk to. Also our meal was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend!!! ❤️
This was our first time here as Encina. Had visited Bolsa before it shut down a few times. The interior feels similar to Bolsa. Service was great, ambiance also good. The food was ok. We had the mussels app, which was fabulous. Also had the blackened fish (which was tasty but nothing to write home about) and the duck (the duck was good, the side and garnish were not so great). Had the dessert (carrot cake) which was bad. Don’t get dessert here. Overall we would try it again.
Food and drinks were outstanding. Service too. Can't wait to go back! Appetizer Beefcheek pastrami over pimiento cheese was to die for!
Family Easter brunch, we enjoyed our experience.
Went with our family for Easter brunch and it was fantastic! We've been here for dinner, but this was our first brunch visit and we will absolutely be back! Great variety on the food and beverage menu. Can't wait to visit again!
Excellent food and a great vibe. We will definitely be back.
Food was good but not as good as we were expecting.
Great pancakes and biscuits.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
We recently had brunch at Encina and thoroughly enjoyed it. We ordered three dishes so we could try a variety and were glad we did. From now on I will always order the blue corn pancakes with butterscotch and my wife loves the skilled quiche. The house made sangria was also wonderful. This is a family owned restaurant with a definite neighborhood feel. Lots of fun seasonal ingredients as well.
Treat yourself soon because this newly opened restaurant if getting very popular.
The servers was the best part. It was very loud. The dessert was the best part and the least expensive. Overall not impressed.
Although the menu is somewhat limited in terms of # selections, the food is unique and amazing. The flavors were outstanding in each dish. Our server did not hesitate to make recommendations and they were spot on.
Will definitely return.
Meh. Food was just ok. Returned a cocktail it was so bad
Enjoyed the cocktails and the English muffin for brunch.
Went for Brunch. The food could have been a little hotter, temperature wise, arriving at the table but overall ok. Would have liked more options on the menu. Service was friendly and polite.
Excellent food, creative menu, and friendly service.
Best brunch I’ve had in a long time! Had twig flatbread, eggs benedict (best take of eggs bene I’ve ever had), breakfast quiche, and blue corn pancakes. Cocktails are on point as well. I can never say no to a good French 75. Can’t wait to go back and do it all over again.
Seems like Bolsa by a different name, but since Bolsa was one of our favorite restaurants, we enjoyed it.
Great restaurant. The staff was friendly even as we took our time looking at the menu. Great suggestions for cocktails and food. I would go back
Luis was a hell of a server and the beef cheek and mussels were out of this world.
Great food , great service!
Wonderful girls night out. Food was great. Drinks are great. Great ambience.
Amazing food. Love what y’all have done with the restaurant. Friendly staff.
Second visit since Encina opened and it did NOT disappoint! This time we tried dinner (last was brunch) and we were blown away. We sat at the bar, and our bartender was amazing. It was his first day and you would have thought he had been there for years. He knew all of the menu, and had tried most of it. He made amazing recommendations and we had the best date night.
We ordered:
Beef cheek pastrami * Normally I would have passed this up but we tried based on his recommendation and WOW! Incredible.
Corn bread- delish
Sausage Pizza- AMAZING
Short Ribs- tender, melted in your mouth- cooked to perfection
HIGHLY recommend this gem!
Pastrami was most delicious. Disappointed with Gnocchi as it was far from delicate. Sausage flatbread flavor was flat.
The food was excellent.. The service was disappointing. Our waiter disappeared for long stretches of time or spent his time flirting with a woman at another table while ignoring the rest of his customers. We weren’t able to order our entrees for over an hour after we were seated, he forgot our drinks, someone else finally brought our entrees but we didn’t have silverware. We didn’t see anyone from the restaurant for over 5 minutes after the food arrived so I finally got up and took silverware from another table. We went for my wife’s birthday and it turned a happy occasion into a very frustrating evening.
The brunch at Encina is exceptional. It is the kind of place you want to take friends visiting from out of town. The brunch menu is broad and ranges from sweet items like the pancakes and french toast (looked amazing...) to savory dishes like the pork belly hash and biscuits and gravy. I has the pork belly hash and it was a perfectly balanced dish with some veggies in the hash and very nicely cooked pork belly (crispy, fat rendered nicely) and perfectly cooked sunny side ups. One of our party had a flatbread with roasted grapes, arugula, goat cheese; another had the English muffins with deviled egg puree; and one had kale biscuits with chorizo gravy. Everyone loved what they ordered and each dish was really well crafted and presented. Great brunch drinks as well.
The service was great and the open and airy patio was nicely spaced out and did not feel crowded. They definitely are trying to keep guests safe in the pandemic.
The flavor and quality of the food was excellent!
Great date night spot. Didn’t know it was/is relatively new.
Great food!
Apps: Beef tartare and pastrami (server recommended this and he was spot on)
Entrees: pork chop (very flavorful) and rabbit risotto (creamy)
Amazing! The flavor combinations were unique and everything was delicious.
We enjoyed a delicious valentines brunch here this year just before the snow storm hit. Our waiter and I’m assuming the manager were very accommodating even though they were low on staff. If you come here, you MUST get the blue corn pancakes! HEAVENLY! Will be back for sure!
