Wonderful service and delicious food! Thank you James, for taking care of us. Pancakes are seriously the best I had in my life! Pork belly was so tender and so filling and toddler recommended. I wanted to try everything but I’ll just have to be back.
The food and service are always outstanding! My favorite place to take friends visiting from out of town. The pancakes and pork belly are to die for!
Our server is simply amazing, informative but not pushy. What is equally amazing is that their menu system updates dynamically as soon as an item runs out. It's not as easy as it sounds because the system itself is only half of the story. It takes management skill to make the kitchen willingly doing the extra work on updating its status.
Great food and service! Enjoyed our dinner, Jamie took good care of us.
Should have known when this was the only restaurant 3 days out that could accommodate a group of 8 we should have gone to different part of town.
Ambience was loud, cold and menus lackluster. Especially for having two kids (obviously I didn’t do my research on if they had a kids menus but they couldn’t even accommodate anything Change for them). The wine list was so nothing especially for all the red meat / no great red wine and the server didn’t have any knowledge
A smoked carrot purée that tastes like a smoky barbecue sauce means I may never eat sauce the same way again. Creative menu. Excellent service. Craft cocktails.
Food was delicious, per usual. So glad to get in on short notice.
Outstanding! Best meal!
Food, service and ambience are all top-notch! A great addition to the neighbourhood!
Loved the beet salad!!
This one of my all time favorites. Every time the drinks, food, service and ambiance is impeccable! We had some friends in town we were showing around Dallas and my favorite spot didn’t disappoint. Highly recommend the pastrami app and Berkshire pork chop!
Loved the mezzo platter! The olives were unique.
Our meals were amazing, my husband had the red fish and I had the steak. Our meal was wonderful flavor and it was all tender.
- Cactus jack
- flower bomb
- red Fish was amazing & the sauce and black eyed peas added so much flavor
- mussels were naturally flavored and was a great starter
- chicken thighs and elote were really good as well
Cocktails were great. Food excellent. Next time I would order something different. But others meals looked dantastic
Solid brunch - every dish was so good! Well seasoned, delicious, original.
We were there for Sunday brunch. I actually liked their brunch menu much better than their diner menu. The waiter was very professional and attentive.
Worth a trip to the Cliff.
Incredible food and drinks!!
Great food. The grits were amazing that came with the pork chop. Flatbread rueben was an unexpected pleasure.
A top 5-10 restaurant in all of Dallas
Excellent, innovative food. Every bite was amazing. Very reasonable wine list, lots of fun choices!
Family and I went for my sisters birthday and it was a hit! Everyone loved everything about the restaurant. We ordered the fish, the Italian sausage risotto, chicken thigh, and a flat bread. Everything was very flavorful and delicious. My boyfriend and I want to come back for a date night and definitely try their brunch!
Food was very good! Our party all ordered different dishes and we were all blown away! The stuffed French toast was to die for as was the turkey confit hash, the skillet quiche and the brunch burger. The noise level, however was almost unbearable. We were seated in the side annex of the restaurant. That is the only reason for less than 5 stars.
Loved it.. kept the good of what was Bolasa. Then made everything else better. It felt different, yet it felt familiar.
Excellent service and food.
We LOVE the mussels. Everything we ordered was perfectly delicious. Friendly service and great atmosphere.
Delicious! Fresh not reheated. The service was spectacular. I live in Fort Worth. Well worth the drive
SUCH a lovely experience!! A total gem of this neighborhood with stellar, GENUINELY friendly service. The food is delicious - those Shishito Peppers tho!!! Mussels - cheese board - skillet cornbread- STILL thinking about them today. Do not miss the pimento cheese. Blue Corn Polenta Pancakes will change your life and are an absolute MUST TRY. Beet salad - crazy delicious.
Encina is definitely one of the best restaurants in Dallas!
Delicious and amazing. Service was awesome too. Great spot
The food was great. The service was slow and the room when eat in was way to loud.
Can’t believe this is the same chef from Bolsa. First of all, although I repeatedly asked the waiter if the Seabass on the menu was Chilean Seabass and he insisted it was, and it wasn’t. It was catfish or tilapia and pretty bad - blackened and sitting on black eyed peas. How do you mess up steak tartare? It came on toast smeared with some kind of flavored mayonnaise so that it was all pretty gooey. What a shame.
Encina was so great. The food was amazing- service was fabulous and ambience was great. Would highly recommend this restaurant and will be visiting again.
Portions for entrees and salads are huge. We started with the dates stuffed with blue cheese and bacon. I had the beet salad. My friend had the other one. Both were huge and delicious. We shared the pork chop it was cooked to perfection. The polenta was tasty and the collard greens were spicy abs yummy. The only con is that it was kind of loud and had to speak really loudly.
Absolutely amazing!! We had a group of 7 for brunch and we were all very pleasantly surprised how good everything turned out. The green biscuits and gravy was bomb!! The biscuits were slightly undone so that they were perfectly moist underneath a blanket of the most perfect breakfast gravy with ground sausage topped with the most beautifully prepared sunny eggs and fresno peppers. I paired the meal with a Cactus Jack.. love at first sight and taste. I tend to be extremely particular and its so nice to experience such a nice meal perfectly prepared with thought and creativity. My Husband had the burger with an egg on top. Although he wasn’t a fan of the pork rinds he said the burger was probably the best burger he’s ever tasted in his life. He’s 48 and been all over the country to all the nicest restaurants. Compliments to the chef and all the staff that worked to create such a great brunch experience.
Second time visiting this year, since Encina opened as the new iteration of Bolsa. My table and I actually discussed whether we felt this was a different restaurant or Bolsa with a new name... we were divided. It doesn't matter though because it's still excellent! Some changes have been made, but we still get to enjoy well-prepared food using a mixture of cuisine inspiration and local ingredients.
The menu suits a wide-range of tastes without compromising quality and originality. We shared the mezze platter and the shishito peppers, and across the table our entrees were the pork, goat tacos, lamb bratwurst and the vegetarian bake. All were unique and delicious. We were only slightly underwhelmed by the size of the mezze platter... the assortment was tasty but the portion slight considering it was described as a "platter." The brownie and panna cotta finished the meal excellently. Service was just as it should be... courteous and efficient without being overbearing.
So whether Encina is really Bolsa renamed or something altogether different, it doesn't matter. News of Bolsa closing was met with sadness in the Bishop Arts area, but what has taken its place almost feels like a logical next chapter for what had been a staple restaurant in the area. Make a reservation and go enjoy yourself!
Great new Sunday brunch addition! Food was excellent, well prepared, great flavor combinations, nicely plated.
Very friendly staff and great service.
Really enjoyed the space and there was great energy in the restaurant.
We’ve already booked brunch for next weekend and look forward to trying dinner!
Thank for a great meal; see you again soon!
By far one of the best places to experience brunch in Dallas. The ambience is terrific... very open and filled with natural light. The food was amazing... you must try the Blue Corn Pancakes. My guest had the Turkey Confit Hash and loved it. Want to try it all! Don't miss the English Muffin either. I'll be back!
So glad we came here today. Terrific brunch menu. All of us (four) totally enjoyed our meals. Migas pronounced "the best" by someone in our group who's eaten more Mexican food than anyone I know. Stuffed french toast with such fresh fruit---terrific! Also the biscuits and gravy---OMG delish. Very reasonable wines by the bottle selection and price-wise. Cocktails looked amazing. They have a nice enclosed, a/c patio, nice and large. Big sit-at bar area as well.
