Encina is a neighborhood gem in Dallas' Bishop Arts District, created by Chef Matt Balke and Corey McCombs. Named after the original designation of Uvalde, Texas—Matt's hometown—we bring elevated comfort food
to life through seasonal, farm-fresh ingredients. Since opening in October 2020, we've cultivated a "Cheers-like" atmosphere where regulars become family.
Our culinary approach starts with quality local ingredients supported by fresh elements from local farmers. Chef Matt, a CIA graduate, creates dishes that honor simplicity and thoughtful execution. Our beverage program follows suit with approachable cocktails and a curated wine selection.
Whether you're visiting for dinner, brunch, or happy hour, Encina offers a dining experience that's both familiar and exciting—like coming home to a meal prepared with love and expertise.

                                                                      This is a local neighborhood gem that cares about quality and consistency. The shishito peppers were the best I've had in a while! I would recommend them and the stuffed dates. This restaurant is very family friendly, and the kids loved their burgers and flatbread. Our compliments to the chef & cooks!!! Excellent customer service provided by Karen!

                                                                      This is my favorite restaurant in bishop arts. Such a creative menu and excellent food. Great waitstaff. Really cool building. The beef cheek pastrami appetizer is amazing and the blackened redfish is just perfect. Loved the lamb stroganoff. The dill and the smoked Gouda really set it off.

                                                                      We had wonderful meals, shishito peppers starter and then lamb stroganoff for me and my wife had veal cheeks...both very unique and flavorful meals..plenty of food for us and the service was outstanding...thanks Encina!

                                                                      Encina is the epitome of what Bishop Arts is. Cool without trying to be and bringing something unique to the table--literally. Hands down the best pancakes I've ever had. Paired with their bacon, it seems that this combination at this restaurant is where the term sweet and savory was coined. And then there's the pork belly grits. 2nd best combination ever. Go there. Have these two dishes. You're welcome.
