Enchanted Forest Dining Experience
Amazing atmosphere and food!! I have a gluten allergy and they were very accommodating. Excellent gluten free crepes!! Will definitely be going back!
Took my granddaughter for her 12th birthday. She loved the booth and all the details in the restaurant. We had the chocolate fondue was our dessert. It was her first time trying it. It was good. The staff made her feel special. Thanks for making her feel special.
Love this place! Food is great, staff is very friendly. Great atmosphere.
Terrific food and service. Really liked the live entertainment!
Fun dinner out with a gf. We got the Ground & Goat pizza which was fantastic (but $$) and each got the Chicken Caprese. The chicken was good but didn’t knock our socks off. Quirky service. Love the visual ambience of the place. It was very hot inside however. Had to be 80-85 degrees. Once our server finally opened the front door, it finally got a little more tolerable. I’d go again just for that pizza, even though it’s expensive, it’s fun for a special outing. Overall it was a good experience.
This was are first time visiting your restaurant. We were quite excited to visit Placerville and eat lunch at the Enchanted Forest. This was an adventure for me, since my husband passed away in August and I am trying to build a new life for myself. The service was good, The food was excellent, however The employees would stand at the end of the bar ( we were in the booth next to the television) and discuss their private lives. At times they would get so excited with what each other would say the volume of their voices would keep us from hearing what we were talking about. I started to ask our waitress to send the manager over, however we decided not to cause any trouble. We just finished up eating and left your restaurant. Other than the rudeness of some of the employees, your place was a new great adventure.
We really enjoyed the ambiance.
I loved the experience and the ambiance but we got the full dining experience and it was WAY overpriced. The meats were really disappointing because there wasn’t enough of it and it wasn’t seasoned at all. Definitely going to just get a salad if I go again.
This place is like a home away from a forest. Great staff and awesome food!! Going back soon!!
Halloween fun! We enjoyed every aspect!
Wonderful restaurant! Even our kids love it. Has lacto vegetarian options.
I have to say we were disappointed and won’t return. We had the four course fondue meal. The salad and cheese fondue courses were ok, but the meat and chocolate fondue courses fell short. If you do order the meat fondue, I would stick with the filet and shrimp. The bay scallops don’t stick to the fork well and are lost in the pot. The meatballs are tasteless and hard to tell when they’re cooked. The sauces were also tasteless. The chocolate fondue was ok, but the hodgepodge of dipping items looked like they had dumped a pantry on the plate. If they stuck with angel food cake bites and some fruit they would be better off. For $39 per person, we could have had a better meal in many places.
The atmosphere reminds me of a Disneyland or Las Vegas theme restaurant but it’s not so cute that I’d bring our grandkids there.
We are in our 70s and being cautious of COVID-19. The half shield clear face masks that the staff wear don’t cover their nose and were off-putting for us.
Our experience was abismal. We were first offered a less then desirable table then confusion ensued. After staring at their tablet they finally sat us in a nice secluded booth. Little did I know that the seclusion meant to be ignored. We were able to have a drink and an appetizer and order a salad and a crepe. An hour later with no food and or attention I had to go to the waiter to tell them give us the check.
To there credit apologetically they “comped” our order and we left.
Small town restaurants need to understand when a mature couple comes in they are having a special night away from their children and sometimes those experiences are not very often. My wife and I were very upset. Needless to say the Enchanted Forest Experience is one to forget.
The ambience was great, the food was fantastic, the waiter was great, the food coming out and getting our order taken took about an hour, so prepare to spend at least 2hours there.
They were out of many menu items. Food came out cold. $23 chocolate fondue consisted of cookies purchased at Safeway. “Entertainment” consisted of some drunk guy playing bad iTunes music from his iPhone too loud over an amp. Narrow Gate Chocolate Port dessert wine is listed on their menu as Porter. This should give you an idea of their wine knowledge. Server tried to see on Old Vine Zin as a direct replacement for a Cabernet they were out of.
It’s a glorified bar, not a restaurant, not an experience. Made a reservation and was initially seated across from the bar on a tiny high table. Asked to be moved as we had a reservation for a special occasion so we were then seated in front of the bathrooms. 3 dinner entrees were unavailable when we were seated (5pm reservation). Food was mediocre at best. Service was slow at first but got better towards the end. Overall, it was very disappointing. We will not be returning or recommending to anyone.
My girl and I had the fondue experience and it was delicious from start to finish. The ambiance was great, warm and inviting, celtic music in the background and out server Samantha was extremely accommodating and personal. We are surely going back!
Food was very good. Out of 3 different red wines we asked for. Sat outside, owner’s dog barked incessantly. Never offered water. Will give it another try as good was that good.
During Covid what do you expect-Have been there prior and enjoyed. This time had some equipment issues with Fondue cookers-was very busy and took a while. Still good though.
Upbeat and cool place to go.
So I made reservations here--SPECIFICALLY STATING that I wanted a cave booth, but when we arrived there was only a high table by the bar or outside available. The hostess just brushed off my request for a booth like I asked for. "Sorry, I didn't see that on your reservation" was all I got. So we sat outside by the street, which was okay, except for the server must have forgotten about us because it took 45 minutes to get our food! The server never came to check on us during that time with no water refills, etc. On the bright side, the food was decent and tasted good, but unfortunately I walked away hungry due to the smaller portions offered here. Although poor service made this a bad experience, I am sure the ambiance would make this a fun experience with better service.
Will definitely be visiting this place again. Good food, beer and the staff was awesome!!
First time - Loved it! Wish we could have been seated back inside more but the place was packed. Took what we could get. Absolutely loved the food, service and atmosphere! We will be back!
We had Pizza and it was good. We did feel the prices on everything was high. The flight of Meade was wonderful. Our waiter Matthew was great and funny. We had to set in the last booth next to the kitchen and it was pretty dark.
Enchanted Forest was so charming. Food was wonderful and service was exceptional. We had the Filet and Braised Sirloin. Both were delish. All staff wore plastic modified face masks and tables are 6 feet apart or have dividers between them for inside and outside seating. Will definitely reccomend and go again.
This was a fun and unique dining experience! I wanted to surprise my daughter who like this type of celtic experience and the place was enchanting. We had a good dinner, service was excellent and I tried mead for the first time. I have a new favorite drink.
The food tasted reheated in the microwave and came cold
We has a reservation and didn’t get a table and had to eat at the bar. Not enough help and the wait times for a drink and food was delayed.the employees were nice and polite just saw a lot of people everywhere but the food took forever. I was not impressed.
Great people and fun time! Our waitress was very friendly and we were serenaded by the host. Food was good but they were out of crepes and a couple other things. I’d check the menu online first then call to see what they have on the menu.
WOW...what an experience...loved it the first night came back the next...Do the Mead flight for sure...Fondue was exceptional....the interior is so unique...the servers where the best out of everywhere we ate in placerville...they just seem to be happy with were they where...awesome...thanks for the experience...
The fondue experience was very fun and tasty.
Love this place! The food is great! The mead is great! Plays Celtic music and videos. What's not to love!!
Food was ok. My chicken was well cooked. Veggies undercooked. My partner's beef was very good, but again, the veggies were undercooked. They forgot our salad order. The waiter was nice but seemed in over his head. He did bring us some crackers, chips and other things since the kitchen was so slow.
Another member of the staff ran my credit card. It was for the wrong amount. Luckily I noticed. Our waiter had it corrected.
The ambiance is nice. The food is just ok. I've heard the same from other people. I wouldn't go back.
Also, they were out of two of the items I wanted to order. And their "crepes were broken". Assumed the machine was inoperable.
Atmosphere was great! Staff were extremely friendly!! Wish there were more choices on the menu.
Our waitress was amazing. She was attentive and friendly. The ambience was nice even for being outside. The restaurant did a great job continuing the theme outside.Food was good.. but it would be nice if cheese and broth was served at the same time. The dipping sauces for the protein were ok..(ranch,butter garlic, teriyaki and bbq) ranch seems useless, garlic teriyaki was bland..
The protein platter was minimal.. the amount of protein served is lite for two people.
Dessert....... WOW!! Chocolate was delicious.. down fall.. only a lot sweets (cookies, rice crispy treats) and min fruit.. maybe 2 whole strawberries cut up.. was really wanting something to balance the sweetness..
this was a fun night.. but for the value I believe it’s overpriced.. We’ll definitely be back to try other menu items..
We went here for dinner for our anniversary. Although there was a wait for food the service was extremely good and the place was absolutely charming. We were even serenaded! We will definitely go back!
Very Fun atmosphere and excellent service, the problem was the food was bland and the fondue was thin, pot pie had no flavor. Flat bread was good, but not stunning.
This was so good. I love the Irish music in the background. We will definitely be coming back!!! Great birthday!!!!
Great food, different options. They offer mead flight. Very upbeat and decorated cute.
Everything I've had there has been wonderful. It was a birthday lunch and the waiter went out of his way to come up with a dessert that was dairy free for me which turned out to be fruit and chocolate fondue -amazing. Their service is impeccable!
