I like be the food at Encasa. The table we were Seated at was full n a bad position, as we were a Couple On an early booking I suppose they were anticipating a Large crowd. But saying that we spent a lot of money for two people. The service was great and the food was impeccable although a little lit in portion size on some Dishes like the scallops. When you have two people sharing you expect an even portion to share 3 is a little short. The meals were-served quickly except for the last one. But it was all delicious and dessert too !

Usual tapas and paella, simple, traditional and done reasonably well. Bread (sourdough roll) is too heavy though and doesn’t really let you soak up the sauces etc. great value for money. The service is good but bc the restaurant was almost empty the ambience was a bit flat. Probs better for dinner.

A nice touch of Spain in Sydney city. The cooking is consistently good, and the staff make you welcome. A regular eating spot for me.

first time at this restaurant, the service was terrible, the cocktails came 15 minutes after the tapas, i had to go up to the bar to ask the waitress for them, the cocktails tasted very watered down and the alcohol was not very noticeable, by the time the paella came the table was dirty with too many plates on the table, i asked the waiter if he could clean the table and get new plates, the plates never came, i had to tell the waitress again, i have been working in the hospitality industry for years but it seems like the staff is new and has no prior training. i worked for encasa in the hospitality industry on lane cove. Their service was amazing and very attentive but i hope the service can improve at this restaurant located on pitt street, the food was ok but it was not the best either. Also when I told the staff about the poor service, their response was "we are short on staff" when they had about 5 people on the floor and the restaurant was not even half full.

Our entrees/tapas were slow to come out. Had to ask waitress where were the tapas? The mushrooms with garlic had no taste. The paella of chicken and chorizo, too much chorizo overwhelmed the dish.

I have been coming to this restaurant for many years and of late have been organising lunches there with a particular group of friends. It was disappointing to arrive for our Wednesday lunch to find that the restaurant no longer allowed BYO on a Wednesday, and we paid $80 for an ordinary bottle of wine. If restaurants don’t want to allow BYO they either need reasonably priced ordinary wine or a good wine list.
