I was really hoping this place would be great, as there are a limited selection of good restaurants in this part of South SJ. Upon walking in, you can tell immediately the owner invested an exorbitant amount of money into revamping the old Blue Cow, aka Sherwood Inn. The place was an absolute dump before. The ambiance of Encanto reminds me of Miami and a tropical vacation destination. There are fake palms, large TV screens with beach footage from around the world, and very modern seating. It's stunning! The second item I noticed upon sitting down was the unbelievably expensive menu. I mean, I get it. When you invest that much in remodeling something from the ground up, you need to be profitable, but for this particular area its really out of place. Encanto would be much more fitting for Willow Glen, Los Gatos, or Cupertino. There is a Tomahawk steak on the menu for $140 and the rest of the menu matched this sticker shock. Some of the cocktails are even over $20. My party ordered a few different salads and the Frito Misto. Honestly, there was nothing to write home about. The calamari and shrimp were cooked well and the dish was tasty. I will say, our server Francisco was very friendly and attentive. Overall, I might come back for their Happy Hour or brunch, but not for dinner. I wish this place a lot of luck because they will need it.

The decor was super cute and I love trying new places, we went for brunch. You can tell they are still working some new things out (the menus were wrinkled paper with food stains). The food was pretty good although I was bummed that the menu descriptions left out a couple things. (Specifically the heavy cinnamon on a lychee martini, those flavors really don’t go together and I wouldn’t have ordered it if that was listed on the menu.) I’ll give it another try, maybe for dinner next time.

Do not be turned off by the location/parking lot. Once you walk in, you'll be swept in by the decor and service. It's a fun lively place for all ages. It draws in a younger crowd with the lighting and house music. The drinks are amazing!!!! It's delicious and come to your table presented in style. Service was great and we were checked on multiple times. Food came out timely and delicious. I've come a few times now and for a restaurant it's consistently solid in all aspects of dining.

I really wanted to like this place, its in a older strip mall I have driven by tons of times. Its super cute decor, but better suited for a drink or to meet up with friends after work or evening hangout, its more of a nightclub atmosphere than a restaurant. The servers are all really nice, very helpful and dressed professionally. However the food is bland or salty nothing to brag about and the alcoholic drinks are steep avg price for a drink $25. At 11am brunch hour a beautiful young lady dressed in clubbing apparel -breast 90% exposed (a fine cute outfit for girls night or clubbing, but not for brunch on sunday with kids in restaurant) she came in closed up all window shades, darkened room and turned up music. I think they should stick to keep it as bar clubbing music dancing ...but don't go expecting a gourmet meal at a reasonable price. Denny food is better. I'm willing to pay top dollar for great food...this fell way short...

Booked for Easter brunch. It was nice until the DJ started with the nightclub music. Made it impossible to talk with each other so ended quickly paying and standing in the parking lot to talk. Food was good though.

Service was horrible! Our server never once checked on us, we had to flag our server down multiple times as our order was incorrect and she never brought out the condiments requested. Very loud for a brunch setting. So if you’re trying to have a calm and mellow brunch, this is not the place. Very basic brunch food. Service needs to be improved, especially when this is a new establishment.

This place was not worth the price, save your money and go elsewhere. Service took forever, our waitress was nice but it took over 30 minutes to get our cocktails and one beer. Our appetizers came out before the drinks, the meat/chicken was dryer than a desert. Music was very loud on a Sunday night and the food was decent but not worth the price. The decor and ambiance is cute but it was made to be more Instagram-able where it becomes less about the food/experience and more about appearance. Also I believe they are very misleading because they charge a “service fee” which was 18% of the bill, which I’m sure had to be tips, however the bill still had a tip calculation at the end. Ain’t no way I’m giving them more of my money.

Service wasn’t that great. Had to ask for plates and silverware more than once. Food orders came out at different times, someone got their main dish before appetizer. The music was too loud. And the music wasn’t good music. The food was ok. Portions were bleh. Drinks were ok. Some drinks were entertaining, which was nice. Birthday celebration was the best. And was very appreciated!

Will not come back here I should not give an star, they didn’t advertise that they had special menu on v-day then when we got there they said it was the only menu offered and it was 125 doll per person! This price is for high end restaurants but I would not spend this amount in this restaurant. They didn’t really care enough and we left so not sure how good the food is

we waited long time seating at the table without being attended. Meal prices are higher than other places. Short variety of non alcohol drinks at least for breakfast. you should invest in menus. Paper is not a good impression for this type of restaurants.

I made my reservation for 5 at 9:30pm because that was the last time slot available and we heard a lot of great things about this place so we didn’t mind the late reservation. Upon arrival we were told that the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes. We understood that is was late and they were getting ready to close so we quickly decided what we wanted to eat. When our food arrived to the table every single dish was cold. We were all in shock because we were told they were closing the kitchen so it made no sense for “rushed food” to be cold. I don’t plan on coming back to this place after our waitress complained about her tip which was fair for the service we received. She never came to check on us about the food and we decided not to say anything because they made it clear that they were closing the kitchen so we simply tipped her what we agreed she deserved. Encanto was ironically not much of an encanto.

Was excited to try this new spot on Almaden, but overall disappointed. Encanto hasn't quite figured itself out yet, with an unfocused menu, unattentive servers and some gimmicky decor and drink service that just doesn't quite work. : (

We were seated and no one came to take our drink order nothing!! This was the worst experience! We actually got up and as walking out the hostess gave us a dirty look! How could you do that when you watched and noticed no one wanted on us. No drinks no dinner! Would never go back! Worst experience ever!

We went for lunch. It was quite good. The menu is a bit different because it is all over the place. But, the food was good. My friend had the chilaquiles' and I had the chicken marsala. Over all a good experience. Wait staff was very attentive and friendly.

The place it’s really nice, look so beautiful. I had great pictures. But the service was very slow. We’re waiting 50 minutes to have only the appetizer and the waitress never came back to our table to ask if we need more drinks or something. We have to ask for her. The food it’s ok but not the best. Drinks are nice.
