None of the things I ordered yesterday were impressive, especially for the price point. The oyster rice pot was disgusting, felt like there was absolutely no seasoning and the oysters were canned. The veggie tempura was unimpressive. The carpaccio was overdressed, with a type of coleslaw underneath. The only redemption of the meal was the cod and the cocktail I had.

I've been going to En for many years and always love it...but last night surpassed any former visit. Everything was extraordinarily delicious and fresh. I've had many versions of Hirame Usuzukuri all over the world and this was the winner!! Service is sweet and wonderful, decor and room is beautiful. Thank you for always improving, but please bring back the home made tofu!!

After a disastrous experience 10 months ago, I gave this favorite haunt (which I have patronized since it opened) another chance. Happy to report that this time the food and service were top notch, although they did try to seat me at a table next to the service area after I expressly informed them not to. That was, fortunately, immediately readied and our server was knowledgeable about new items on the menu and made excellent suggestions. 5 stars.

we’ve come to En Brasserie quite a few times in the past so this was definitely an outlier. Service was all over the place. Our server seemed to be stretched a bit too thin and forgot to bring us our utensils and bowls for nearly every course of the tasting menu. The vegan tasting menu lacked much flavor. The fried edamame puff was really bad and needed some sort of sauce. We’ve had the tasting menu in the past and it’s what brought us back so many times. The only menu items we did enjoy were ones that we ordered a la carte (black miso cod, miso eggplant). We’ll absolutely be back but thought this visit was well well below par. The Hostess was an absolute joy though!

This was an unusual one-off event: 16 small course omakase focusing on seafood, prepared by Chef Ken in front of 8 diners (which is rare for EN). Everything was beautifully presented, with some standouts being an abalone "oden", a squid with caviar nigiri, and the opening seasonal vegetables in jelly. Just as importantly, I felt welcomed and special from the start, which is something that many high end restaurants have trouble getting right. I also had a wonderful sake pairing with the meal that included some old favorites and some new to me.

I haven’t been to En in many years. Here what was missing compared to earlier visits: no traditional big greeting in Japanese from the staff. No freshly made tofu. The food was as excellent as ever. But maybe because we didn’t order their multi course dinner or not enough of their high price items, they brought everything in a hurried rush (except the shiso rice which came way after everything else. And we were in and out in a little over an hour!!!! Oh and we still spent $380 for 3 people with the tip. I would say not worth it.
