EN Japanese Brasserie
We adhere to the fundamentals of Japanese cooking: respecting the ingredients and their natural flavors, cooking in the moment, and letting the ingredients speak for themselves. We have created an extensive menu, featuring dishes as fresh tofu (prepared six times a night), saikyo miso black cod, stone grilled Washugyu and Wagyu steaks, an assortment of sashimi and sushi rolls and three signature EN Kaiseki tasting menus. To compliment your dining experience, we have developed a list of over 80 sakes and 36 shochus as well as carefully crafted signature cocktails and wine list. Polish your meal off with a choice from 60 Japanese whiskies, a lineup that is hard to beat.

Service was flawless, everyone was attentive from the host to busers.
The food was exquisite and we didn’t feel rushed even though it ended up being a 3hr dining experience.
Good, authentic Japanese restaurant.
Outstanding ambiance, staff and service. The food was great but fell just a bit short of outstanding.
Drinks didn’t deliver and had to ask wait person to check on our drinks. Appetizer didn’t come before main dishes. Main dish was served without sauce. Overall, wait people need to trained more professionally. Although a manager came and sincerely apologized.
Great experience, great food, would definitely go back.
Fabulous food, service and repast in the spacious bar area up front on a relatively quiet cold Thursday evening with the delightful assistance of Rafael selecting the perfect Sake and our wait staff suggesting the ideal gluten free dishes to share.
Loved it. Consistent from day 1. Never let down.
Ive always enjoyed my time at En. the service, the food the ambience its all excellent!
We tried the tasting menu and it’s really good value for what you’re getting ! Their menu is definitely more traditional and authentic
One of the most beautiful restaurants in the city - spacious, high ceilings - the warmth of the wood counters and walls always, along with the staff, welcoming. Plus a superb list of Japanese scotches (if pricey) and sake.
Delicious food (attractive in appearance, tasty and well-cooked), stellar service, warm ambience, and cheerful yet tranquil. Very enjoyable evening.
EN was a wonderful place to spend NYE this year, every dish was delicious and beautifully out together. All of the staff were engaging and very attentive throughout the meal.
Amazing food and spectacular service. The kanpachi collar is their icing on the cake.
I left a note that I want to be distanced with other table but they sat a group right next to us and it was very uncomfortable
Family trip to NYC. The food and experience was wonderful!
Excellent Japanese food (NOT just sushi) at reasonable prices given the quality and surprisingly large (for expensive Japanese) portions. Strongly recommend -- miso black cod and kakuni are must tries.
I have been to EN several times before, but this time around I truly enjoyed what EN has to offer. The server Kinley (sorry if it’s misspelled), he was fantastic! He was honest, attentive, and hospitable. He made some great recommendations, which enhanced our dining experience at EN. Him and the Bussers made us feel well-taken care of. Love the staff, the food, the ambiance. I have only good things to say! Happy holidays!
This restaurant was absolute perfection, and I see myself coming back very often.
The taste was really normal. The rice was crazy farm and dry to eat like eating uncooked barley. I have never seen like that farm rice, was it left at the kitchen for a while? The surface looked very dry, so I couldn't eat that.
Other dishes were very normal, I believe it's better I cook them in my house. I expected more beautiful time there , but I was disappointed my experience there.
not a bad spot if you can have standard seating, sitting by the counter gets a bit too much smell from the kitchen. otherwise a solid joint for conversations and food..
I’ve been coming to En since 2017, and it never fails to impress. The staff is always astonishingly-friendly-and-helpful, the decor is beautiful and perfectly-maintained, the atmosphere is always sophisticated and luxurious but also welcoming and homey, and the food is just sublime. I’ve worked my way through about half of the food menu by now, and I have yet to encounter anything that isn’t amazing. There literally is not a bad choice on it. The same can be said of the cocktail menu, and the sake selection is equally-impressive.
The fact that this quality and experience has been maintained, uninterrupted, throughout the current crisis, speaks to the restaurant’s professionalism. Easily my favorite Japanese restaurant in New York, possibly my favorite on the North American continent.
Awesome place for hanging out with friends or having a date. Very professional service with a clean environment. Dark light with tasty food is perfectly matched here. Such service with a reasonable price is 5 stars for sure!
Always a treat to spend an evening at En Brasserie!
Fabulous! Love how quiet it is too for brunch. We will definitely be back.
This used to be a great place, but last night was HORRIBLE. No need to bash them in public. I have written to them directly about seating loyal patrons at lousy counter locations and allowing unruly, hostile people to be seated after causing a commotion at the door over vaccination and identification, and putting them next to me, where they continued to behave in an unacceptable manner. There's now a very good reason to say the the Zen is gone from En, perhaps forever. I'll never go back. Thankfully New York is full of dining alternatives that place good clients above profit motive.
Rude, rushed service, food was mediocre. Can’t imagibe how this place is still open
Horrible customer service.
Bento box not as good as before, cod fish quality wasn't great & sashimi was ok. Steak and eggs - steak was chewy. The quality has sadly changed a bit. There's a small fried meatball now instead of the chicken tonkatsu. We were coming every weekend we are in town, but sadly it's changed so much since the first two times we were there and I've given it 3 chances and won't go back for the lunch anymore. Still great for dinner.
Food was good and the vibe was lovely
As usual. Everything Excellent
Last time I went to this restaurant it was a great experience. This time felt like a completely different experience. Ambiance wasn’t great. Sashimi wasn’t good. The cuts and quality were too big and had sinew. Won’t return
Super delish great service in a beautiful space!
Great experience. I have been coming to EN brasserie for the past 10 years. It never disappoints me!
J’avais réservé une table dans ce restaurant bien avant mes vacances à New York mais lorsque que je suis arrivée il était fermé et je n’ai reçu aucune explication ni message pour me prévenir.
The experience was never had because the restaurant was closed when we arrived. It embarrassing to say the least. We were never contacted by the restaurant or Open Table. In fact, I was asked to confirm our reservation multiple times before our arrival.
The restaurant was closed and did not informed me that my reservation was canceled!! Really poor behavior. Shame on open table as well
No one contacted us to inform us that the restaurant was closed. Could have saved us a trip into Manhattan and could have given us time to make a reservation elsewhere. Very poor service
Fantastic service, beautiful decor and every plate was a delicious adventure.
We have been eating their new brunch menu since September and noticed that they changed bento box, fried rice gone, smaller miso cod portion and got rid of the tonkatsu and replaced it with 1 tiny fried meatball? Please go back to the original portion and selection. We always bring people with us and love coming on weekends. We'd hate to stop coming. We are creatures of habit and love supporting restaurants we love like EN!
Great food, ambiance and service
So I was underwhelmed. First date and had a reservation and they sat us at a group type table and I asked for something cozy and quiet. Eventually we got moved to a normal table.
We ordered drinks and I’m a bourbon drinker and they didn’t have Woodford or Bulleit- two of the biggest names in bourbon but they offered me Makers mark which you can get at Chilis! My date ordered a martini and they had no top shelf vodka. They wanted to use Tito’s which she doesn’t like so that was a sign that they aren’t carrying decent alcohol this makes me nervous with the food.
The sashimi was mediocre at best and nothing you can’t get in any sushi place.
Service horrible and I think we had different waiters all night so there was no memory of what we were drinking or any attention. I had to go searching for them to get water and our appetizers started.
For this level of food, you guys should seriously think about carrying better alcohol and having your servers pay more attention to the clients.
