Absolute disappointment. We had a table for three and all of us got the $145 per head Komorebi. From the first dish to the seventh, we were simply confused. Oyster was one of the worst oysters we have had - dry and not fresh. The steamed & cooled veggies felt like they were bought from trader joes and took them a 3 minutes to prepare. The lobster was extremely deep fried. The wagyu did not taste like wagyu but tasted more like the fatty part of an avg ribeye. The last dish, mushroom with rice, simply felt microwaved. The only good thing about the EN was their choice of sakes. But to be honest, that did not make up for the disappointing quality of food. I wish i could say the service was good but unfortunately we had to wait 40 minutes for our table. Complete waste of time and money. Final comment: If I had the option of having this food for free vs. having shake shack at full price, i pick the latter 100% of the time.

best friend date! hadn’t seen my best friend in a long time and wanted to catch up somewhere special. we both have dietary restrictions due to allergies and the service made us feel right at home, not like nuisances. everyone was super friendly and helpful and warm, even though the restaurant is extremely beautiful and had the potential to be very sceney. So many different offerings in every sense: the thoughtfulness and effort put into the quality of the food, crafting of the menu, and diversity in spaces welcomed so many different walks of life and every kind of gathering in a beautiful and warm setting. I really love this place it’s become my new favorite restaurant! Obviously drink offerings are amazing too. Service is so sweet and accommodating and educated. Just go here honestly but don’t make me wait in line to eat otherwise I’ll be upset about my 5 star review :) Love to bring my friends and family here as much as possible in the future to have any chance to eat :)

We love en and come all the time but last night we had the worst service. We ordered the same thing as always and were there for over 3 hours with long periods of no food coming at all, when our normal meal is 75 minutes. There was no explanation offered or any apology.

I booked a table and they weren’t able to serve us until 20 minutes after our reservation time and said they only had a spot at the bar. We did not get even water until 45 minutes after arriving to the venue. The food was very good but we had to ask our waiter several times to bring us a menu. At the end, he then charged us for 3 items that we didn’t order - equalling to 25% more than our actual order (always check your bill). Food was very good. Service was one of the worst I’ve had in New York City. Will not be returning.

Honestly, this restaurant was okay… not too bad and not too good. I made reservation for Tea for Peace and I was attracted by mochi from Mochi Rin and the tea ceremony. I did not really enjoy the 3 courses food, but I like mochi and tea ceremony. The food of that 3 course are so average, I don’t have to spend $75 for this. The 3 pieces sushi are not so good, I can find this level of quality everywhere, even in the grocery store. The only thing good is the second one, Takiawase. Service was okay, the ladies are nice. Overall it is okay, maybe I should try brunch or a la carte.

This was our third visit. Every time has been a unique experience in which we tasted innovative dishes. Everything is super fresh and expertly prepared. Service is attentive and helpful. The staff explain the dishes as they are served. And the space is large and busy yet not overly noisy. We will go back again for sure.

I have been to EN a number of times in the past and it has always been my go-to for special occasions. I always order the pre-fixe..I was shocked at how small the portions of sashimi and wagyu beef were. I understand these are delicacies but the pieces of sashimi were the size of my thumbnail. Almost insulting. Also, the oyster and squid in the first course were fishy. Plenty of brown chicken, rice, and dessert but that is not what I am going there to eat.

This was our first visit and we were truly disappointed. A friend had recommended you and it must have been a totally opposite experience. Ours was not acceptable. The service was extremely slow, so much that we waited almost 10 minutes for anyone to even approach the table to take an order for drinks or food. One in the party was vegan and that seem to be a real issue for the waiter to understand how to make some of the items available for vegans. We were told it was vegan friendly so this was particularly disappointing. The food was sub par for the quality Japanese cuisine we were promised. We felt it was one of the lowest quality Japanese meals we’ve ever had at that price point. We would be reluctant to dine there again, and would have told management but the hostess stands were vacated when we left - no one to even listen to our concerns. Bad all around.
