   I wasn't too sure what this would be like seeing as I didn't see it recommended on any websites or blogs, but it absolutely should be! The service was amazing and the atmosphere in the bar was really great. An added bonus as well was how delicious the food was. It's a little bit further out although it was in the perfect location for us, but 100% worth the trip (even if you're not a Gossip Girl fan.)

   I love coming to the Empire rooftop for my favorite drink (Smokey Pear Passion), for the views and for the lovely ambiance. Being able to talk without having to shout is an unusual treat in NYC; also, it's nice that there are spacious and cushiony seating areas. I also really appreciate that the music is not amped up (though I think it does tend to get louder as the evening wears on).

   We were sat next to a birthday party which was fine, but we definitely would have preferred the main area. Excellent drinks — my favorite was the Smokey pear one!

   It is a nice place but when you get to thew bathrooms there is no lid on one of the toilets in the ladies room and there are all sorts of things ( construction material, salt, demolition caution tape etc.)in the hallway that are unpleasant to see. This leaves you wondering how clean are things in the kitchen? However, our service was excellent.

    I made reservations for my birthday after the Ballet. The service, ambience and food were great especially the champagne. They sang Happy Birthday so sweet and the chocolate mousse sweeter. The views from the rooftop were spectacular great Instagram pictures. I totally recommend this place it’s great for after show and open late. Thank you Empire 😎😆

    The food and drinks are outstanding. The rooftop offers spectacular views. Sunsets are gorgeous here. The Smoky Old Fashioned is fantastic. We really love this place.

    The service was outstanding. Prices were a bit high compared to surrounding restaurants/ lounges (I am a local not a tourist) but the view, service and ambiance made up for it.

    We didn't eat, just had cocktails, so I can't speak to the food, but the drinks were delicious and generous, and the service was lovely. I especially appreciated that the room was not so loud that you couldn't hear the person across the table from you. We had a great time, and will definitely be back.

    Overall what brings down the rating for Empire Rooftop @ Empire hotel is the low level of service across all interactions with staff. From the security at the hotel elevator to the greeter to the servers, was met consistently with zero level of basic service: welcome, friendly, attentive. Security at base of elevator was rude, unwelcoming, short tempered Wait staff seemed disinterested, unfriendly, and not attentive - didn't even mention a wait person shift in the middle of our visit. Original purpose of visit was to get a photo in front of the Hotel Empire sign - a coo mentioned on your website and social - and staff refused to support us. Overall poor service and treatment when we were enthusiastic.

    A perfect, last-minute pre opera venue with delicious food and tasty drinks. Service was prompt and attentive. Would definitely do again for proximity to Lincoln Center and casual food choices.

    I made a reservation and they sat us in an awkward table in a side room that was large and mostly empty despite there being tables available in the main area. They also sat us directly facing the only other group in the large space which was really awkward.

    My second visit (the first was this summer, and it was great), this time to celebrate a friend's birthday. Our drinks had been served, and we were settled. So it disconcerting to be told by a headset wearing guy that we had to move (as were the patrons next to us). The excuse was that a large party had made a reservation and they needed the table. WE'D made a reservation--you'd think with 2 reservations it might've been better planned. Never in all my New York years, have I been asked to move to accommodate other dinner guests. It felt brusque. Thereafter, though the servers were cordial, I and my guest couldn't shake a sense that we were being rushed to wrap our evening. We were patient with the staff--we moved--but something about the way we were handled felt off. For the money, not the best ambience to celebrate my friend's birthday. By the way, headset guy offered to buy us a round for our patience--of course we never saw him again after we were moved.

    Nice spot for light meal and drinks pre Lincoln Center event. Very attentive and friendly service staff. Flatbreads were great, calamari not so much. Only issue I had was it was a really nice night and would have lived to be seated outside, but these were "reserved"...yet there were many free tables when we arrived as when we left. Would have thought our card held reservation for a table and showing up would count for something.
