Comfortable, great view, delicious appetizers, and service was excellent....friendly and prompt.
I love the Empire Rooftop! The drinks are solid, the views are stunning, and the all around vibes are great. Never fails me when I need a spot to go!
Great service, vibe and unbeatable views. We’ll definitely be back.
Great ambiance! I'm sure its even better in the summer when the roof is opened up. Food is all appetizers, which is just what my wife and I love.
The Empire Rooftop was awesome! Definitely a great find. Jose our service was great as was the food. Beautiful views! Can't wait to go in the summer to experience the outdoor patio.
I love the Empire Hotel, I stayed there about 10 years ago for a week and really enjoyed the staff, accommodations, and bar. For nostalgia’s sake I wanted to go have a few drinks with my family and friend on a Wednesday evening. The hotel employee at the elevator door told us there was a $35/pp minimum to sit at a table, which was no issue at all. We did not have a reservation at first and were told they didn’t have any tables available but could sit at the bar, while we were standing at the bar ordering drinks I saw that there were reservations available on Open Table, so I made one. I went to the host stand and told them we would close out our bar tab and wanted to be seated at our table, the hosts rudely told me about the $35/pp minimum for table service that the man at the elevator had already told us about. They then took their time to try to “find” an available table ( don’t take reservations unless you have room to accommodate your guests) and AGAIN for the then 3rd time told us about the minimum food and beverage. I went back to the bar to ask my family if they were really interested in staying as I was shocked by the inappropriate way the hosts were handling the situation. We decided to finish our beverages, which were delicious by the way and we would’ve loved to have a few more ( even $35 more), and leave after taking some pictures outside on the rooftop. I asked my brother to go inform the rude hosts that we decided against the table and one of them had the audacity to tell him AGAIN about the minimum. As a restaurant manager and long time hospitality leader I was honestly horrified by the incident, all we wanted was to have a few drinks and for reasons unknown were singled out by the unprofessional staff. While waiting for the elevator to leave we witnessed the hosts sit two other tables without once mentioning the f&b minimum. I hope that it’s addressed and no more of your guests feel the way I was made to feel. Happy holidays!
The view is everything, and yet we were immediately seated at a table as far away from the windows as possible. We theorized that this was because we were from out of town, but still… we had made a reservation and would have liked not to have been shuffled into a corner. The hostess did comply when we requested to be moved to a high top so we could see the view. Food was excellent and service was good after initially feeling rushed by the waiter.
The venue is very nice, but super expensive compared to the quality of the food / drinks.
Good service though
Snacks were fine. Recommend the flatbread with mushrooms and the pork belly. Good drinks! Staff is amazing, and views are awesome. Fun to take someone who has never experienced the city.
Only one dessert available (chocolate mousse), but it was super yummy!!
Family trip to Nee York and food was amazing and very relaxing.
The views are amazing but the drinks are mediocre and overpriced. I expected better
I went with my sister to celebrate my birthday. incredible attention, very detailed and friendly.
Great food and great drinks.
Xoxo gossip girl.
Pricey but the drinks are super strong and large so it’s totally worth it. The food is a little up there but it was overall worth it. Great evening.
Great cocktails. Didn’t try the food
Overall great experience would definitely go back.
Great place for any fan of the Gossip Girl series. I was warned portions would be small but both the appetizers we ordered and the drinks we got were generous in size and tasted amazing. Will definitely return!
The food is terrible and the place is extremely noisy. The only redeeming element is the rooftop space.
Great place to meet up the decor indoors is classy and the eastern rooftop areas are spacious and nice. The western view is really pretty -- esp at sunset -- plus, the neon Empire sign is very cool. (Makes for a cool pic!)
Looking for a lively spot with great food and mixed crowd, this is your place.
Great experience and great views! Will be back!
We had scheduled to go here anticipating a full dinner. Sadly they only serve cocktails & appetizers on a limited menu. The building is dated & elevator to get to the rooftop is old and in need or an overhaul.
Space itself is also in need of an update. We were shown directly to our seat, but after 10mins still hadn’t seen a server. So left for another location. If you want drinks, it maybe a good place. But we couldn’t tell, since we were never served.
Beautiful venue and convenient location with both indoor and outdoor options to accommodate different comfort levels during pandemic times. Ideal for our larger party meeting up for post-work drinks on a Thursday night. Most importantly, service was fantastic - the perfect place for organizing professional events.
I have to say we are usually big fans of the empire rooftop.
Today I had a Rez with my girlfriends for an outside table. We were told there was not an outdoor table, so we were sat at a couch area. Very nice . After about 15 min of sitting and talking a man approached our area moved my friends coat & took a chair for the party next to us. Then another Matre de came over and said that we needed to move/ we said why , she said they mistakenly placed us here but the people next to us needed space . However the party next to us within 5 minutes put coats on and left . That area turned over 2 more times with parties
This is completely crazy & unacceptable , I felt very offended & discriminated that we were asked to move.
Totally unprofessional on Matre do and management
If you just want a cool, rooftop cocktail bar, this place fits the bill. Wouldn't recommend ordering any food, however.
Wonderful rooftop dining experience in NYC! Stellar food and service as well as ambiance!
It was our first date and we wanted to do a rooftop and sitting on the couch was very comfortable and cozy and romantic for us to get to know each other. We had a couple of drinks each and two orders of the flat Bread which was very good. Great for date night!
Awesome staff and great food
The Empire Hotel Rooftop is one of the best venues in NYC !We go to the Empire frequently for all types of events including drinks after work with colleagues, family gatherings and holiday celebrations. The staff is outstanding ,always friendly and welcoming and the food/drinks/milieu are great!
Pre Lincoln center dinner on rooftop. Food was good: pork buns, cheeseburger sliders, and margherita flat bread. Mulled cider and Malbec were good. Location is perfect. The issue is that this is an exposed rooftop with breezes and ABSOLUTELY NO HEATERS!!!!! WEAR A HOODIE PLUS GLOVES after sunset. Otherwise, you will freeze!
We never made it because the elevator wasn’t working. There are 2 elevators, and instead of figuring out how to get the working elevator to the lobby, several staff members in the lobby were rudely refusing to do anything. We left and went to L’Addresse, which was AMAZING - will go there much more often instead.
Horrible service. We were seated outside. About 20 minutes after getting our drinks, we were told by our waiter that the manager needed us to move to accommodate a bigger party, even though we had a reservation
Delicious Pork Belly Bao and Sliders!
Don’t miss the mushroom on flat bread drizzled with truffle oil!
Loved the setting and the service was outstanding
Service was terrible, had to ask for a server after 20 minutes
Never got my drink.
We wanted a place to hang out and enjoy bar food and drinks for 2 hours before a performance at Lincoln Center. I was encouraged by the strict enforcement of vaccine mandates. The hostess was welcoming and cordial. We explained that we wanted to relax a good while and enjoy food and drink and were most welcome to do so. The cocktails are spectacular (especially the Empire Sunrise) and I thoroughly enjoyed our 2-hour stay.
Amazing!!! You guys hooked it up with the best birthday spot ever!!! Absolutely coming back thanks fam
The view is great (especially if you like towers and Lincoln Center), the small bites are delicious, but on this night the service was very slow (there was a private event in a portion of the Rooftop, so I don't know if some staff were relegated to work there exclusively).
