Food is awesome! Service was poor and slow.
Took over 45 min to get entree. Pizza was not hot when it arrived. Restaurant was adequately staffed. Will not go back
We have a family member who has a severe tree nut allergy and the entire staff was incredibly accommodating to ensure that nothing at the table was exposed to anything with tree nuts. Food was delicious and can’t wait to visit again!
We got the loaded waffle fries for the table and pizzas. The crust was exceptional with buttery crispy edges and light interior. Cheese was high quality and vodka sauce was great.
Rough experience overall with timing, general dining etiquette, and especially food taste. Ordered roasted cauliflower as an appetizer. It takes 20 minutes to be served (and arrives after the second order of a Caesar salad). The salad was over the top anchovy taste to the point it wasn’t palatable. The roasted cauliflower was dry and powdery with no sauce to Lyft the dish. We barely touched either dish. They were cleared with zero inquiry as to why we didn’t eat them and we were charged for them both. The server also started off the interaction declaring she doesn’t eat pizza. Ordered ranch as a side. Charged for it but never arrived.
Pizza and drinks were good, but we paid $105 for 2 drinks each some fries and a 6 square pizza.
It was not what I expect it to be, even though the menu seemed interesting. However, I would suggest to emphases letting customers know the salad has anchovies, even though it’s listed. Anchovies and chicken doesn't go together. Also, the salad came with very little dressing and for extra cost $4.00. Not to mention the $21 for an 8 slice square pizza is a lot but it was good.
Fabulous pretty much sums it up! The food was absolutely delicious! Two of us split the Margherita pizza with sausage and the loaded waffle fries. Brace yourself- the waffle fries are better than Chick-fil-A!!! …and that pizza! Oh ‘em gee! We went home stuffed and very happy! I’ll definitely be back!
Pizza was good, wedge salad was boring the dressing was bland, service was ok but after stacking dirty dishes at the end of our table I finally cleared the dishes myself since the waitress did not get the hint
No waiters or waitresses. Short staffed.
Fantastic hamburger and chicken parm sandwich. Cauliflower appetizer terrible. Italian salad ok.
Food was really good. We are outside and it was a beautiful night to do so. Service was a little slow, but we weren’t in a big hurry. However we ordered dessert and it took extraordinarily long.
It took an hour for a pizza to arrive at our table. We had to flag down a manger for an explanation, who eventually said the order had to be re-started since the original order was "not up to their standards." There was no apology, no further explanation, and no sign of the manger afterward. We received a 20% discount, but it did not make up for the rudeness, lack of communication and the poor customer service.
Good food and nice space
We ate outside! Service fast and attentive! Pizza is Detroit style thick crust. Very yummy recommend getting some toppings. Roasted cauliflower and waffle fries excellent
Pizza was really good, A bit pricey but worth it.
Service was terrible, really disappointed. Slow, difficult to get the waitress or even hostess’s attention and basic asks to the bus boy went unanswered - like fresh plates after they cleared our apps plates. We sat while our pizza and sandwiches got cold for 10 minutes before we got fresh plates.
Thank you for being our guest, and for sharing your honest insights regarding your recent experience. We are so very sorry to read how disappointing your visit was; please trust that this is not the type of experience we want for our guests. We hope you will consider coming back to give us another chance.
We decided to go to a new restaurant in our favorite area for Halloween! We chose Emmy Squared because they had such an eclectic pizza featured for Halloween! My son tried the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich and loved it! The whole experience was excellent! We will definitely be back!
Great service and food. Wonderful experience
The pizzas are delicious. We had one "red" (Margherita) and one "white" (Good Paulie). Both had balanced flavors, good toppings ratio and an amazing, crispy-edged crust. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Our server was attentive, the manager also checked in on us. We will definitely return to try more items on the menu.
When we arrived at the restaurant (for our prebooked reservation) the hostess was very rude about how THEY had overbooked themselves and therefore couldn’t sit me inside where I had booked and only had a table outside in the cold. it was a very unpleasant experience especially for somewhere right on king st where there is a lot of high quality restaurants with good service!
New server. Busy restaurant. Not a good combo.
We truly strive to make every visit to Emmy Squared - Alexandria equally wonderful, and we are sorry that you left with an unfavorable impression. We do hope you will choose to visit us again.
I was excited for date night at the new Alexandria location. The host stand is in the most awkward position that when I came in the host ignored me because they thought I was walking into the restaurant to another table. I had to walk back out of the restaurant and come back in to be acknowledged. I like the sleek vibe of the restaurant (sort an upscale pizza place) and the bar is great. Our server provided great service however we had to wait nearly an hour for our main course (our pizzas) and we were told by our server that the kitchen was backed up. However it appeared as if pickup orders were given greater priority over seated guests.
They forgot our food and the service was very unkind. They threw the check at us at the end of the night.
Booked a large table for my daughter’s birthday and the staff took excellent care of us!! The food is always delicious!
Waiter was inattentive and food ordered was overcooked.
Extremely slow service. Took over 20 minutes for someone to come to table. Ordered everything at once. Don’t think it was ever submitted to the kitchen. 40 minutes later were asked what we ordered. Another 30 to finally get food. Food was good. But not sure we’ll be back to dine in.
Food was good but service was inefficient and slow.
Waiter was great. Pizza awesome. Salad needs a bit of love.
This is a MUST EAT in Alexandria! The staff are welcoming and attentive, friendly and funny. The atmosphere is comfortable and warm. The food is absolutely incredible! The pizza is the best I have had in a very long time! The bites are good portions and the cocktails are fabulous. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a 5 star experience!!
The service is a cluster- you know what! We were seated and no one came to take our order or get us water. Finally, a guy came to us and apologized and said the waitress would be right over! Finally a waitress came. We ordered all our stuff at once, drinks, apps and food! The drinks came but the apps came with the food all at once. The waitstaff is really struggling and it doesn’t seem like any real leadership! Long waits and waiter comes by once. I know there is a shortage but this is the second time it’s happens to us! The food is good tho!
Soooo I'm totally coming back here. Late lunch for my husband and I. The garlic breadsticks are a must. Love the pomegranate margaritas. Shout out to Keith for helping out with our order. Pizza is delicious
Long wait times with very little customers. Split order food to go and some to eat in house but they forgot to put the to-go portion in though I suggested they put it in right away. Asked for a medium rare burger, came out well done and asked for a runny egg and it was almost totally cooked yoke (like McDonalds yoke). Finally, when they brought the to-go food out they put it on the shelf near the exit rather than bring to us at the bar, I was watching for this since last time I waited 25 min and was never told my to-go food was ready at the door. Seems like general staff confusion every time I visit and the pizza came with toppings that weren't on the menu ("Good Paulie" had a large amount of undercooked parsley on it which wasn't on the menu). Overall, I have liked parts of the pizza (the crust) at this place but the overall effort it takes to order and get food there is a lot of work and time -- too much work for casual dining! I am likely to not go back for some time due to the "adventure" every time I visit, originally thought it was a pandemic issue since they opened under COVID and initial crowds were BIG... now there is no excuse for mediocre, slow service with small crowds and you get to "roll of the dice" for free to see if you get the food/pizza you really ordered!
Even though Emmy’s was short staffed, the bartender turned host turned waiter was FABULOUS!!! He set expectations early, came around often to check on us and made wonderful recommendations. Highly recommend the tia fries!
Food was good service was so-so.
First time eating here. Next time I’m in town, I will definitely go back.
Everyone enjoyed the food although my youngest said the burger was just “normal,” however my oldest who had the same burger enjoyed hers.
Our party included 4 kids…the staff and waiter were very accommodating! The food was also delicious—order the Colony pizza!
Music a bit toooooo loud.
Other customers also noted that
Highly recommend!! Tried it for the first time since it opened in Old Town and we had Keith (general manager) as our server. He was AMAZING!!! He gave great food recommendations and was so patient with our large group as we ordered. The food was also so good. The pizza, burger, appetizers, everything was delicious. Will definitely be coming back!
