What a disappointment. Not sure how this place gets all these positive reviews. It's because of those we chose to eat here instead of elsewhere. Elsewhere would have easily been much better. Basically it's overpriced for what they offer. "Fine Italian cuisine.?" Not close. Being originally from the Chicago area we know good or great Italian. This ain't it. The Gnocchi was under cooked with little bits of fatty meat. My wife's Rotini was gummy and salty. No bread with the entrees. After asking, she brought out four pieces of toast she called focaccia. The only salad was a glob of arugula which we split. It was ok. To top it off, they knew from the reservation that it was my birthday. So...for this occasion we were told we could purchase a dessert and they'd put a candle on it. When I said "really," she snidely said, "I don't make the rules." Guess she sensed our displeasure. This experience really put a damper on our evening. Won't be back!

We were in Knoxville to celebrate and meet up with friends for an exceptional dinner at Emilia. We enjoyed our visit with our friends and dinner was great. It was enhanced with 3 bottles of very old and very expensive Italian wine. We were the last folks in the restaurant and was made to feel like we were in the way of their closing so we had a bit of the wine left in bottle and said we can step outside to finish. We did not want our evening to end there but the way they made us feel was like we were in the way. Could not believe the treatment after we spent as a lovely evening and a TON of Money with them! We did so and then a young woman came out to their front patio area where we were and asked for the one Glass I still had in hand. What I am to drink this beautiful wine from a bottle??? REALLY! A $5 piece of stemware made them want the last impression we had of the restaurant to end on a sour note! SILLY MANAGEMENT BAD JUDGEMENT

This restaurant may be Knoxville’s best and they use all the right words, but something is missing. The ambience may be what one needs to survive. The value also is okay, and the service is trained. It, however, especially the dishes, are just not Italian. The names, the ingredients, may be, but that’s not enough. One big exception, our dessert, was sensational

I ordered the duck risotto it arrived with virtually no duck at all. We were not serve bread or anything else with the meal. I thought it was very poorly prepared the risotto wasn’t done properly I would never recommend this restaurant

If I could give Emilia more than 5 stars I would, came to Knoxville for a weekend getaway, couldn’t get enough the first time dining we decided to dine twice in one weekend. Would recommend Emilia to anyone visiting Knoxville, the service was tremendous and the food was amazing.

Was in town for the weekend and my wife and I tried Emilia out. We loved it. Food was fantastic and the service was great as well. We would definitely go back.

My boyfriend and I went to Emilia for his birthday and absolutely loved it! Excellent, prompt service, delicious food, and lovely atmosphere. He had the steak, I had the bolognese, and we shared the focaccia. Perfectly portioned and divine flavor.

Our waitress Valerie was excellent and attentive. Great decor and vibe. A very well thought out menu with great food that was “on point” and super fresh. We will definitely return!

While the food was prepared well & presented in a great presentation, we've had similar menu items done with larger portions and less expensive. Good meal, but not sure we'd return.
