We were a party of four, ordering six different dishes and all were terrific. The menu is fairly extensive but the waiter visited our table every 90 seconds requesting our order, which was quite annoying. We started with fish soup for the four of us which arrived 25 minutes later. prior to its arrival at the table the waiter continually told us the soup was coming. We considered the soup a first course. Within three minutes all of the other dishes arrived as well flooding the table. There literally was no room for the food. We had to ask the waiter to take some back to the kitchen. The waiter failed to give any attention our requests.

it was a holiday weekend lunch so it was unusually crowded and noisy for our table of 5 in the main room. Try to get a booth or better a private room if you’re a large party. Excellent whole steamed fish; spicy dishes - watch out for those little hot peppers! Emei is always my go-to for visitors craving authentic Szechuan Chinese. Reservations are a plus for people who don’t want to wait in line.

Wonderful food, atmosphere, and hospitality. Had a late lunch/early dinner with my dad and two teenage daughters. Something for everyone on the menu. Loved the tea pot for tea at the table. Highly recommend.

Robust menu with lots of options and nice aesthetic design inside. Special find in Chinatown Philly! They may have been understaffed the night we went, because service was slow and a bit neglectful. but food was delicious with big portions and we came home with leftovers. Will try again

First time visit. Location is bigger than it looks. Menu has a nice selection, asked server what some of the items were (a description) but was not much help. Went to Google instead. Order some wonton in hot hoil ( was supposed to be in broth, but it's OK they were good) scallion pancakes - delicious, Kung po chicken - flavorful, side of while rice - very nice, dan dan noodles - deliciously spicy, and fried dumplings (pork was good, but we ordered vegetable so we sent them back for replacement. Vegetable was really good too) Over all, food was really delicious, service was good, just make sure you confirm everything.

The food at Emei is excellent and especially hits the spot if you're into spicy food. I really love the Dan Dan Noodles and their Kung Pao chicken is wonderful. Service is solid although some times it seems it takes them a while to serve you, but regardless, this is my favorite Chinese place in town.

First time coming here was great so I recommended it for another outing with friends a week later— not good at all the second time around. Small plates were fine but the entrees were over-sauced, runny, and bland. Rice didn’t stick together at all.

We have been to Emei numerous times and this was our last. I’m not sure what was going on with their chef(s) tonight. Every dish was so over-salted, it wasn’t even edible. All we could taste was salt. Our lips were burning. Music was blaring so loud, we had to practically yell to the other side of the table. Hard pass on what used to be our favorite in Chinatown.

Went for dinner and the place was very busy. The food was good, but service was meh. They need more wait staff. We had a hard time getting the attention of wait staff a couple of times. The place was clean and bright. Overall it was a good dining experience.
