As original locals of Bath, Bathonians, we are immensely proud of our city and the lands that surround us inspire the dishes we serve and the cocktails we craft.

We believe in simple cooking over natural flame, where the quality of local produce speaks for itself. Sourced from trusted Southwest suppliers, our ingredients are always fresh, familiar, and in season.

Curated by Chef David Hazell with Bath at its heart, Emberwood, transforms the modern dinning, into a menu much-loved by locals. Feast on Huntsham Farm Cote de Boeuf or Hake served on antique silver. Pull up a seat in our bar, for an easy-going cocktail, developed by flavourist Atelier Pip, perhaps a ‘Wonky Manhattan’ or locally sourced cider.

From dawn until after dusk, we’re here to welcome you, whether you’re a lifelong local or just passing through.

    We had a wonderful lunch, It felt very special. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious. I would recommend it to everyone.

    The food was lukewarm when served and the starter of mushrooms had a texture of having been reheated as opposed to freshly cooked. Very disappointing. The service levels were good as was the environment. Overall though the value for money was quite poor.

    We enjoyed the set lunch and had three courses. It was all delicious & had the added bonus of a glass of house wine each.

    Delicious and beautifully presented meals. Enjoyed it so much the first night that we went back the second night. Staff friendly and efficient and the setting was also lovely. What more could you ask for? Highly recommend.

    Another excellent visit to The Francis Hotel Restaurant. This time we booked online. The process was easy and one huge plus point was that no deposit was required. The set menu is great value for money. I would have awarded five stars for the food if the soup, white onion and cider hadn't been so unexpectedly sweet. Great service including help with our mobile phone! Looking forward to our next visit.

    It was an amazing experience food , staff and surroundings all first class. I would thoroughly recommend afternoon tea at The Francis Hotel .
