Embers Ratings and Reviews
I visited Embers with a group of four and had a wonderful dining experience! We were greeted immediately as we entered, seated promptly, and were attended to from start to finish, even from servers who weren't assigned to our table. I enjoyed the Embers burger from the bar menu and with it, a Conn Creek cabernet sauvignon. My friends ordered various tasty and
ample-portioned items from the dinner menu. If you're planning to truly impress your company, you will with this establishment!
One suggestion: avoid pairing the burger with the Duck Fat Fries. Though "hand cut", they aren't quite as delectable as perhaps the Mashed Sweet Potatoes with Vanilla-Bourbon, the Sautéed Haricots Vert, or the Grilled Asparagus with Fennel & Pecorino.
If you are looking for a place for a special occasion this is it...Food and service were excellent...
I eat vegan and the chef made me a delicious dish of pasta with vegetables which was awesome...
My wife had the sea bass and said it was one of the best she's ever had...
This was our first visit to Embers, and we were not disappointed! Started with the scallop app., & it was fantastic. I had the Lamb chops while my girlfriend had the sea bass. We were both blown away!! Our server Shannon didn't miss a beat. He was very knowledgeable with the wine list & his food reccomendations!! The manager on duty (Michael) made sure our experience was perfect. We appreciated the amount of effort they put forward to ensure our dining experience was second to none!
This is our second time back to Embers for a Birthday Celebration. Two of us had the surf and turf special for the evening which included a succulent filet smothered with a shrimp concoction that was most delicious! My husband had the rack of lamb that was served just the way he likes it ...a little pink and very tender accompanied by the well prepared scalloped potatoes. Oh not to forget the sushi appetizer, that started off the taste buds with many different flavors that prepared us for the soups and salads. The only negative comment of the evening included that the chopped salad had too much dressing... But we LOVED the side of brussels sprouts! We will be back for another special occasion.. A little too pricey for a weekly event!
I found the evening to be a delightful experience. The service was great. We were seated promptly and the waitress and the wait staff were very attentive to us. I enjoyed the wine that I had chosen very much but was rather disappointed to find that the amount I was served was quite small for the price. The food was simply great. Myself and my spouse had ordered the chicken and it was cooked to perfection. Not dry or overdone a bit. The butternut squash risotto was outstanding. Creamy and melt in your mouth. The appetizer we had ordered was the veggie sushi roll. Delicious. Overall the whole experience was delightful and memorable. We would like to make a return visit very soon. Would recommend the place to others.
First off, I admit to the reader that I rate service and value over price and ambiance. Also, I am no stranger to Cheesecake Factory and find it somewhat pricey, but, the choices, quality, value and fun of the Kenwood locale makes it very much worth the price. Embers was none of these. The ambiance wasd nothing overly fabulous. The ribs my children got were small and unexceptional. Tha salad I bought was small and very lackluster. The service, by one lone waitress, was very good. If you need a pretentious place to impress someone with the cash you are throwing down for them taker them to Embers. In a nutshell, This was very ho-hum, very expensive, food offerings that were very limited and a staff that was very lukewarm to our presence.
This place has a lot of different food choices which seem to all be great options. The steaks we had were well prepared, tender and delicious. Drinks were good and reasonably priced for what we got considering the location. On top of everything the banana panini dessert was fabulous. Overall great valentines day experience for us.
This is the 5th time we've been to Embers and they always do a great job. We had the same server as our previous visit and he was exemplary in suggesting wines, in addition to encouraging us to try some new things on the menu that we were very pleased with. Dont expect to leave without spending some money, but it is well worth it. Great filet, cooked exactly to order. My wife had the lobster tail, cooked perfectly - which is hard to come by in Cincinnati. Went out on a limb with the duck fat fries and we couldnt stop eating them - delicious. Even if you dont like brussels sprouts, you should try these - carmelized to perfection, a great side item to complement any entree. Another great night. Well done, Embers.
Had a Great meal at Embers the other night! Everything is special - the bread, the soup of the day, the salad, the sides and the main course - delicious! I had a big meal and my wife just noshes on appetizers, sides or sushi. Our server Tracy is spectacular and makes the experience even more wonderful.
Everything was outstanding, even the bread. Our server was very attentive and each course was better than the last. Sushi, salads, the sea bass and a steak. All top notch. The banana toffee ice cream is our favorite part. It is SO so good. We love the attention to details at Embers. It makes for a perfectly romantic date night.
The food at Embers brings us back time and time again, and the service never fails to delight! Their menu has a wide variety of amazing dishes from fish to sushi and steaks. Their salads are great too. I highly recommend the green goddess salad, especially when adding chicken! For fish, try the sea bass entree, the flavorfull sauce is not to be missed. If you like sushi, all the rolls are made with the finest ingredients. If steak is your calling, then I recommend the 14oz prime strip with onion straws on the side. The whole menu is amazing....
The service and managers have always been so kind and helpful. We enjoy dining at Embers so much due to the staff. Everyone is well trained and the team work really shines! Go enjoy too!
Great food as usual. Very lively, which is typical of a Saturday night at Embers. Very good service, our waiter was very attentive, but maybe just a bit too noticeable. Overall a very fine meal. The only thing that was not ideal was that it felt like the tables were a little bit close to each other. I guess just a minor personal preference, as my wife did not find this to be the case.
I don't normally give five stars but Embers was worth it. I've been to a few of the other steakhouses around Cincinnati and Embers has some of the best steaks in town. Another place was recently award four diamonds but the steaks there are nothing compared to Embers.
I'd only recommend this for business diners who don't care about price. The food and service were fine, but with the entree prices as high as they are, it is crazy to have to pay extra for a salad and for a veggie. I would never go there again on my own dime.
As usual the service was great. The dinner was disappointing in that the NY Strip I ordered didn't come out looking or tasting like the strip I get every time I dine here. Usually that cut of steak is at least 1-1/4" thick, the cut of meat I received was not even close to 1", more like 3/4" and much bigger than a strip, it looked more like a sirloin. Ordered it medium and it was cooked perfectly as usual, which I thought was exceptional given how thin it was. The shrimp cocktail was as advertised, huge prawns and delicious. Have dined here many times, always order the same thing the same way, and this is the first time I've ever been less than pleased. This experience is not a deal breaker, will return.
Embers was ok, not great. We were expecting much better based upon comments from our friends. It is very expensive for the quality of the food.
The sushi was not rolled very well and it immediately fell apart as soon as I touched it. The bottle of wine that was brought to the table was a different year than the menu. When I made a comment to the waiter he just shrugged.
We go out to eat at least a couple of times a week and are very willing to spend a lot of money for great food. It is highly unlikely that we will return to Embers. There are many restaurants in Cincinnati that provide better food for the same price.
Don't get me wrong the food I order was good, however, for the price, I expected it to be excellent. I ordered the "Seared Diver Scallop" appetizer, which was $10, and I only got 1 scallop. I ordered a salad, which was the "Embers Chopped Salad", very basic. For the dinner portion, I ordered the "Local Ohio Chicken Breast". My fiance just ordered a glass of wine ($9), and "Chilean Seabass". Everything on the menu was overpriced there, for all of these items our bill came to $99, not including the tip. Very OVERPRICED! For the price of food, I have had better at a lower price. This is Cincinnati, not New York!
Haven't been there in quite some time, always had great service and dinners. Even though they specialize in sushi, their steaks are fantastic. The strip was cooked to perfection. Never disappoints, except for the fact they no longer have the soufflé on the desert list.
A friend recommended Embers to us but we were skeptical because it looks like a suburban chain. We were very pleased with what we experienced. The server was outstanding and her recommendation were spot on. The food was amazing. The ambience was nice enough though not the reason for returning; but he food is something to write home about.
