Embers Ratings and Reviews
We have always enjoyed great service at Embers but were disappointed Sunday night. We booked an early reservation because we had my elderly mother with me. As we arrived, the rain began to bucket down. The valet parkers were not out and no one did anything to help us get into the restaurant. The receptionists were in no hurry to get us to our table. The waiter though pleasant, seemed inexperienced, brought drinks that were not correct and then bickered about it with us, did not bring bread, which is a nice feature of a meal at the Embers. The food was as good as usual, which was nice. I was a little embarrassed that I had invited my relatives to a meal at a restaurant that provided less than optimal service.
In town for the weekend. Six-thirty reservation on a Saturday. Got right in. Very nice ambiance. Some people dressed very nice, others in jeans. A decent amount of children, surprising, due to high prices. Had rotisserie chicken spring rolls for appetizers. Two small rolls, cut in half. Tasted great, pricy at 10 bucks. Wife had a beet salad and really enjoyed it. I had a California roll. It was ok, but at around 8 dollars I wouldn't get it again. My wife ordered their specialty fillet which came with mushrooms and a couple other things on the plate. I think it was about $35. It was 6 oz which was perfect for her. She really enjoyed it. I had 14oz strip steak, cooked perfectly. I added "toppers", mushrooms and bernaise sauce. It was about $55. I took about half home. It was one of the best steaks I have ever had. We shared potatoes and spinach, both excellent! Service was also excellent. Plenty of staff on the floor to fill drinks and anything else you need. With two soft soft drinks and no desert it cost $150, before tip. Pricy, but worth it for special occasions. Also, on the way out we passed the bar. The Buckeye game had just ended and the bar was hopping! I'm not sure if there is a bar menu or specials, but it's probably worth checking out.
Our experience was that the quality of the food (strip steak and halibut) was not up to high standards. The meat was not as tasty as other reastaurants who charge premium prices. Total bill for four of us was $275 which is probably not out of line if you have a memorable meal. Ours wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t the high quality we expected. Probably will not return even though most of the other elements of the restaurant (service, wine list, etc.) were good.
The Embers never disappoints. The atmosphere is convivial without being loud. One of the few places left where you can actually hold a conversations with the people with whom you are dining. Service is excellent and so is the food. It is a wonderful option to also have good sushi to choose from at a steak restaurant.
Not as glitzy as a Ruby Restaurant but just as good. the sushi is first rate. We usually order fish dishes which are extremely good and come as a full meal, so you do not have to order additional side items. The waiters are knowledgeable and attentive. This is now on our list of favorites.
If you’re going to spend $200 on a meal for two, I think you can spend it better somewhere else.
The lobster tail was like a piece of rubber and very hard to cut through.
The filet was definitely a high quality piece of meat, but the seasoning is very similar to what you find at an Outback Steakhouse.
The crab cakes weren’t anything special.
The Oreo stuffed doughnuts really saved the experience. They were delicious.
The service and presentation was excellent.
I think most of the negativity was centered around the lobster tail, so maybe just stay away from that?
I was introduced to Embers through their happy hour specials and half-price sushi on Wednesdays. I’ve now been back several times to enjoy the great food & drink (their sushi and wine pours are phenomenal!), ambience, and wonderful values during those times. That said, I recommend sitting in the bar area for a fun and lively environment.
This is a wonderful 'go to' spot! Of the many times going here, not one plate has been unsatisfactory. Even the 'obligatory chicken dish' is prepared with care, and tastes amazing. As far as steaks, I would put their cuts and preparation in the same class as any top tier resturaunt in the city.
Absolutely wonderful waitperson. Sophia was delightful, and attentive, but not overbearing. She made polite conversation...and smiled everytime she came to our table. The food was delicious, and just the right portion for us to enjoy all three courses. The wine was a bit too small a pour, the cocktail was fine. Thanks for the complimentary coffee with our delicious desserts.
We enjoy going to Embers so much. The dining experience is always wonderful. Our waiter was attentive and timed the delivery of each order perfectly, giving time to enjoy our food and conversation. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
At first this was our "Special Night Out" place but now we look for special thing to celebrate or no reason at all... Food is superb.. Restaurant is beautiful & the staff is friendly...
We have latched on to Ali... She is wonderful! We ask for her station every time we go.. She is efficient, personable & professional... Can't say enough good about her!
