We booked an intimate work-party table for only 6. It took 30-minutes for drinks to arrive, an additional hour for food, some meals were warm. We had to ask for more water 3 times. Understandably, it's Christmas season, but this shouldn't differ from a fully functioning restaurant at capacity as an excuse. This has always been my favourite restaurant in Brisbane, the coal pit slow-cook meats that are no longer on the menu, and it appears that the overall quality has slipped rather sadly :(

Embers is close to QPAC, and we regularly visit Embers when we are going to a show in the afternoon. The food is excellent (for mainly carnivores), the beer is good and the staff are excellent. (Although it is obvious they occasionally fall short of the chef’s expectations…he can be very vocal!) The chef is also excellent. Food is very well prepared, especially the chargrilled octopus! Occasionally, if packed, the service gets slower, and sometimes we have had to come back after a show to get dessert and coffee. Would definitely recommend Embers and would recommend setting aside 2 hours to enjoy excellent food, service and ambience. One star was taken off from overall performance as the toilet facilities are a bit dark and not serviced after enough during busy times.

Gorgeous food and good options, excellent drinks. The live music from the bar next door created a nice atmosphere but not too loud.

The food was terrific and they actively sought feedback to ensure diners were happy with their meal. The service was worthy of an extra star. They were cheerful, friendly and happy to explain and questions.

The food was below what I expected, one meal was forgotten about and the staff had to be asked three times where the meal was. My barramundi was good but only warm when served. My side was not great, the plate it was served on made the potatoes taste strongly of dish detergent, which turned me off eating it. The pasta my husband ordered was nothing like the description from the menu it was supposed to be linguini with chilli and garlic, but you couldn't taste either thing and sauce was so horrible he couldn't even eat it. We won't be eating there again.

We had a pre-theatre dinner for 6 at Embers. Fab service and good saw us out at the right time after enjoying a lovely shared dinner including excellent produce and preparation.

The maitre'd, was absolutely fantastic, we ran into traffic issues, but our orders were pushed through the kitchen to enable us to make the Mary Poppins show before start time. The food remained at the very high standard we are used to from Embers restaurant at the Charming Squire and impeccable service, even though we presented a signifcant time challenge to the chef and wait staff. Thank you for letting us have wonderful start to the night, after peak hour GC to Brisbane, and Toowoomba to Brisbane traffic negotiations.
