We went Thursday during restaurant week Service and speed of food coming out of Kitchen was awful we were there for relaxing dinner but this was awful. Won’t be back sad to take it off the list but no one cared....and it didn’t seem that busy at all
Menu had diverse selections for all palates. Food was well prepared and very tasty. The service was a little slow ironically seemingly because the restaurant wasn’t very busy so the wait staff was constantly busy chit chatting
We had a fantastic time, but we know that we always will have a great meal at Ember. We love the staff, the cocktails hit the spot, and it’s a great way to try new interpretations of classic dishes.
We were fortunate to have an early reservation so the place was quiet. The atmosphere is comfortable with plenty of space between tables...which was lovely. Our appetizers were both delicious. We had the meatballs and the ribs. For dinner I had the pan seared scallops which were cooked perfectly. My dining companion had the duck which was slightly over cooked (med instead of med rare) but also delicious. Dessert was yummy....creme brûlée for him and cheesecake for me. The Cheesecake was surprisingly light! A very nice night out!
One of the top five meals I have ever consumed!! I had with the waitresses suggestion the stuffed pork loin, AMAZING! I promise this place will not disappoint. I can't wait to go again
Overall the dining experience was good; however, I had the chicken bbq sandwich; the chicken was overcooked and as a result not very enjoyable; I do want to say that the lady who served us was excellent, very nice and professional.
Excellent find in Dover in a 19th century building that was once a firehouse. Took advantage of the Happy Hour special (half price drinks and apps). Then for my entree I had the duck breast, rare and juicy the way I like it, that came with Brussels sprouts and a delicious risotto. Service was on the spot. Comfortable, open dining area.
It was excellent and we plan to return
Food was great, restaurant was nice. Hostess who seated us was kind, but waitress was slow her lack of attention to her customers was weak at best.
Extremely easy parking connection and salad was terrific
The server was kind and accommodating of tweaking a dish to not include mushrooms, but my only complaint is that it took us (me and one other person) 2 hours from the time we were seated to the time we left to get appetizers and entrees. Additionally, I sat with empty drink and water cup for nearly 45 minutes and couldn’t find the server to ask for a refill (and got charged for each soda water I had, since when are refills on seltzer not free?). Aside from the extremely slow service on a not so busy night, the food was absolutely excellent. Had the food not taken forever, I would definitely come back.
Excellant server and good food. More choices would be nice
We sat upstairs at a corner table and it was cold. Had to keep our coats on.
I am new to Dover and have now been twice to Ember. I am drawn to the place but have been let down with the service. Not attentive enough and way too long a wait when it didn't seem particularly busy. Prices seem quite high for not that much food. Lily, the hostess, was the exception - lovely, sincere, and caring!!!!!!
Great food! Service was just as good. Highly recommend if you are looking for a good a place to meet up with friends or date. My only criticism is the benches are too soft and low; needed the pillow to sit on and I’m not short.
This restaurant had come highly recommended from discerning friends, so we made reservations and came in to eat. The downstairs area was very intimate. Our server was wonderful, and we enjoyed cocktails before settling in with our appetizers, mussels and pork belly. Both were wonderful. Two people had the duck and sais that it was delicious, while I had the pork chop that was among the best that I'd ever had.
As I said earlier, the service was great, the food excellent and the restaurant warm and inviting. Highly recommended.
Ok service, kind of cold in their. Food was cold and honestly really bad. I don’t usually complain but restaurant is totally not worth the money.. my chicken dish was terrible, small, and cold and it was 23 dollars. Wait staff not very well educated on menu. Portions are incredible small.
Great food and our server was very attentive. It was truly a great experience and can’t wait to go back
Awesome job all the way around! Highly recommend, particularly for couples!!
Nice place. Was a bit cool so had to keep jacket on.
My boyfriend and I went for our 4 year anniversary and were not disappointed! Service was great, environment was relaxing and sophisticated and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend Ember for a date night or a nice dinner with family.
Friendly atmosphere and service, which was also quite efficient. And the food preparation and taste was excellent. The menu had just changed, and all offerings including the daily specials looked very appetizing. Although there was not a huge selection, as in many fine restaurants, the menu presented an amazing variety of items that would surely offer something for everyone. The dishes that we ordered were prepared and finished with attention to detail regarding flavor and taste. We will most definitely return to sample some of the other enticing menu items.
Appetizer menu varied and so well prepated. We ordered all aps for dinner.
Food was excellent. Wait staff could have been more friendly and engaged with us. We wished we had been greeted in a warm and welcoming manner. We also wished some one spoke to us on our way out and thanked us for coming and welcomed us to come back. Again food was excellent but may not return due to lack of engagement on wait staff part.
We arrived early and it took a long time to get out food. That was fine we should have ordered an app. The food came out warm, but not hot. Understandable if the restaurant is busy, but it wasnt. We were the old table and maybe 4 people at the bar. It was freezing outside and cool inside even next to the fire. The bathroom was freezing. My salmon was a bit over cooked and my husband's ribeye was as well. Two dinners, two desserts, and one happy hour drink for $100 and it was meh.
Best Mussels around and great atmosphere. Love this place!
My wife and I enjoyed a delicious meal and cannot say enough about the food/staff. I would recommend Ember to anyone looking for a great meal and atmosphere. We will be back for sure.
Probably my favorite restaurant ever. A gem on the sea coast!
Menu is quite limited. First they take the duck off the menu-the best duck I've had anywhere. There were only three meat items on the menu; they were out of two and the third was a 16 oz rib eye- way too much for even both of us. Since there was nothing on the menu that appealed to either of us, we left. Don't know if we'll return.
Very limited menu. Food was ok. Went there for our anniversary, wish we had gone elsewhere.
Our first time. Our server was excellent un rushed. Food was excellent but pricey for the area.
I would recommend this to others
Food was good, but priced like it was in Boston. Good food, good service, but not a great value.
So so, wood fired chicken was dry. I was expecting a higher than average experience for our special occasion. But wasn’t thrilled. I won’t go there again.
This was our second time eating here. The creative menu you is excellent, you also get a lot of food for the price. The service is 5 ⭐️ The only thing that we didn’t like is that it gets really loud in the bar.
It was just ok, I wouldn’t rush back. The history of the building was very cool! They had music playing downstairs but a band playing upstairs with a very loud crowd singing along.
Great food, great atmosphere. Some of the meals were a little pricey, but very tasty. Lots of GF options. Huge whiskey selection, a big plus.
From start to finish our dining experience was top notch. The braised cabbage was amazing, Ember burger was cooked to perfection and the cream brulee' has been by far the best cream brulee I have ever had. I was meeting with 2 gurlfriends I have seen in a while ane we raved about our evening. We will be back for sure.
The service was friendly and good. Food tasted great and portion size was a value for the money. We will definitely return.
Definitely one of Dover's top restuarants. Good meal. Good price. I'll definitely return!
