Ember Wood Fired Grill features a locally inspired menu with a casual upscale setting. Our Chef, Christopher Gouzie, best describes our menu as "Globally Inspired". It features familiar dishes with a twist. "We use new and interesting ingredients, and different cooking procedures to introduce our guests to a unique way to present food."

We have taken this same concept for our Specialty Cocktail list. Deviating from the classic recipe with housemade syrups, specialty bitters, and high end liquors and liqueurs.

Enjoy our sleek downstairs dining room, outdoor covered terrace, or upstairs bourbon room, where we house over 100 whiskeys on selection, and offer over 20 wines by the glass and bottle.

We regularly host private events, and therefor reservations are recommended.

Third time here. I want to like Ember, really do. Building is nice, service has been very good every time I’ve been and menu is diverse without being overwhelming. However, speed of service is too slow and has been on every visit. Pork potstickers app on the specials menu that night. Took 30 minutes to arrive. If a dish takes that long to prep, then it’s not deserving of a spot on the appetizer menu. Upstairs was only half to two thirds populated so the restaurant was not that busy. My date’s pasta dish clearly sat for a while before being brought to the table, there’s no denying that look. My dish appeared to be served quickly after being cooked. A well run kitchen times the two dishes tighter. Bottom line, a two hour dinner for two people is too long unless the diners are forcing the pace to be that slow. Not swearing Ember off but not running back soon either.

The proteins , prime rib, short rib and scallops were great. Mashed potatoes and spinach were cold with prime rib. And it goes along with the other sides. For the price at least the proteins were good, drinks totally over priced. App was the meatballs. $15.00 for 3 totally ridiculous. They were only ok. Probably not going back. Remembering the old place with wing backed chairs, this was very basic hard uncomfortable chairs with not need for the prosthetic price. Service was great, our waitress was great.

The wonderfully balanced Lion’s Tail special cocktail reflected the same care taken in libations as Ember’s skilled kitchen shows with the food.

We had the snap peas appetizer — wonderfully seasoned & sauced — then scallops/risotto and salmon/couscous. Patricia provided excellent service. Meal after meal, Ember demonstrates that while it’s chosen Dover, this restaurant could compete strongly in Boston or NYC.

My husband ordered the “pork tenderloin” tasty but a little dry. I ordered the days special which had fish, barbecue ribs, wagyu tips, potato and cabbage salad - all good but all these elements on plate did not mesh well together; I did not enjoy this meal. I ordered an after dinner drink of expresso/chocolate martini - horrible Nestle syrup around rim of glass and no coffee bean on top. The waitress had asked if I wanted Baileys in the drink and I said just as it’s always served. A mixologist should know how to mix a drink that’s on the menu.

Hi Evette, We're sorry you didn't have a great experience with us Saturday night. The mixed grill is exactly that - a mixed grill. Rather than having an overarching theme to the dish, this was meant to spotlight three different styles with each meat, giving you an array of different flavors on the plate. As for the after dinner cocktail. We do not have an expresso/chocolate martini on our menu. The server went back and forth with you to try and narrow down exactly what you were looking for. Note, we did remove this drink from your bill. What we do have on our menu is an espresso martini, which we offer "Black" (with no bailey's) or "With Cream" (with bailey's). We appreciate your feedback, and hope you will come in for another try. All the best, The Ember Team

We ate on a great little patio that had about 5 tables and that was intimate. Great service. Prices were a little bit more than I would have expected for the food, but the food was of high quality.

Happy Hour best dining value now in Dover. Blistered snap peas & meatballs — delicious — & great bartender.

The special — perfectly prepared, fresh haddock — was paired very nicely with a risotto of fiddleheads and other fresh spring veggies: delish! Also, a generous smear of spicy romesco pretty much demanded side slices of slightly toasted French bread. Service was just right: knowledgeable, thoughtful & well-paced.

Went with a party of four.. not too familiar with restaurant but website looked good. I generally understand that sometimes things can go wrong , that’s life. It was early on a Friday nite, not terribly busy. We ordered a round of drinks and then our meals and more drinks. I ordered their hamburger “special” with a side of mayo. I literally had to chase the waitress to get the mayo and wait for it to get delivered from the kitchen. Having waited during my college years I remembered the need to get a diners meal served “completely “ ! Well, in fact my simple request unfortunately threw off the whole dining experience. Sometimes the small things do count. Terrible service.
