What a lovely experience for my daughter’s graduation. The food was delicious and we were brought a complimentary glass of bubbles to celebrate the occasion. The staff were so friendly and welcoming and the owner was always checking in to see if everything was ok. Thank you we had a fabulous night

Ember pioneers a Menu model that offers different international dishes and small, “ Tapas” style plates each month. This fresh approach combined with excellent food quality and presentation and waiter and waitress service results in a wonderful luncheon / dining experience.

This months menu is amazing, the tuna and tomato dish was so fresh and perfectly balanced. Lobster toast was an amazing tapas dish, especially for £6! Classic patatas bravas & croquettes, very very tasty. The whole meal was fantastic, churros for desert were 10/10. Denis and the team are always brilliant. Great venue and atmosphere.

First time in Ember. Had a lovely Tapas meal. Food was very tasty. Service was excellent and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. We were there to celebrate a special occasion and they prepared us a lovely desert. Will definitely be eating there again.

A lovely little gem we found on an overnight in Sunderland . Staff could not have been more welcoming and the food was exceptional . Fantastic fish and tapas ! Only think we would ding it for was the music was a little too loud on the patio . But… would highly recommend 👍

My wife and I went to Ember for the first time yesterday for Sunday Lunch. We were greeted warmly on arrival and the staff were very courteous and warm. We were shown to our table and asked if would would like water at the table and then given time to view the menu. The restaurant wasn't overly busy but the noise did echo loudly and this made conversation difficult. The waitress was very attentive and pleasant when taking our order. I ordered the roast beef dinner and my wife ordered the roast lamb dinner, both of which arrived in an acceptable timeframe and they were delivered with plates of roast potatoes and side vegetables. The table was a little small to comfortably take all the plates and it did feel a little cluttered. My wife and I selected the potatoes and vegetables to our plates and then condensed what was left onto one plate to give more room. The vegetables were hot, tasty and plentiful. My beef was perfectly cooked, plentiful and tasted really good. My wife's lamb was over-cooked for her taste and she consequently left the majority of it. We followed up with the home made vanilla ice cream for dessert which was excellent. We were happy to agree the 10% service charge on paying as we felt the staff deserved it. It was a nice touch that the waiter made us aware of the charge at the point of paying and checked we were agreeable to paying it. All round experience was good and we would return to Ember again, nice place. We were thanked by the staff on our way out

Booking was very easy. We had a table for 2 overlooking the River. We ordered 2 Beef Sunday lunches at £22 each. The Beef was extremely fatty which accounted for about a third of the Beef. The carrots were too soft, the long stem Broccoli was too hard. The Roast Potatoes and Yorkshire puddings were nice and the Swede was very average. I also ordered a bottled beer at £6 which I thought was over priced. Overall my experience was disappointing and I wouldn't return for a Sunday lunch as I have had much better. Lovely venue and staff were good though.
