Ember Indian Kitchen
Fantastic food and service.
We will be back soon!!
There were so many menu items to choose from. The servers were very helpful with choices.
We've eaten here many times, all of our meals have been very tasty. The owner is very gracious.
The server was very pleasant and welcoming. She was also very informative about the various dishes offered by the restaurant. We were lucky to get one of their two designated parking spaces but it is unfortunate that the neighborhood does not have an excess of parking. This might be a deterrent for diners.
The food was really good. The ambiance was lovely. It was our first time. Good Hospitality. The servers were very polite. We got an opportunity to meet with the owner. He is a very gentle and kind person.
I will surely go there again and again with my family and friends.
We started with fish pakora that were so tasty. The food was served hot and presentation was exceptional.
Food is ok, for dine out Vancouver set portion is small for the price compare to other venue. Bit pricey for what is worth.
Great spot! Great food & service
Every time I dine at Ember, the experience has always been the best. If I ever have issues with the food, they always make sure we walk out happy with no hesitations. Mistakes happen, but they are always happy to help. Thank you for making the experience so great every time!
The food is delicious, very flavorful and because of the African influence, the dishes are different from a lot of Indian restaurants. I would highly recommend the Ember Indian Kitchen.
One side dish never did show up and we had to ask that the charge be removed from our bill. The waitress mixed up 2 of our orders and when my friends lamb dish did arrive, it was tough to cut, let alone eat. After we waved down the owner, a new dish was prepared and we 3 got to watch our friend eat her meal. My meal was a dried up version of chicken korma, I barely had enough water to keep my mouth cool from this “mild” dish. Not the korma I’ve been delighted with at other South Asian restaurants. We are unlikely to recommend this place—our second of now two disappointing visits.
Short ribs are the best! Naan is excellent.
It would be nice if the meal was inclusive of 2 sides, maybe rice should be included. BBQ platter was over cooked and tough. Surprised that a restaurant like this is using paper napkins instead of fabric. Noisy and sound seems to echo
Everything we ordered (butter chicken, beef rogenjosh, masala halibut) was fantastic
The owner Amin is always very attentive and welcoming. They have lots of delicious vegetarian choices, make sure you try the rosewater pistachio milk dessert.
The food was very tasty.
Fabulous Indian food. My favourite is the Kuka Paka. Always delicious The service was excellent
Food was great. Service was slow unfortunately.
There was a bit of hiccup yesterday with their system yesterday so that our dishes came a lot later than usual. They gave us a lot of complementary appetizers because of that, which was greatly appreciated as we were all getting really hungry. Mistakes happened every now and then for restaurants. Their willingness to own up to their issues and compensated us showed us how much they valued their customers!
Great meal! Service was excellent & food was fabulous. One of my favourite restaurants
Great food, friendly service, on the beach. Parking a challenge.
Great food. Service a little slow. Very nice decor and patio near river. Would definitely return. The prawn biriyani was the 2nd best I've tried outside Hyderabad, India (which is famous for this dish).
Three of us had lunch yesterday. We were made very welcome. The manager even suggested we choose a table away from the table a large group had reserved so it would be less noisy for us. Food was good and well presented. Very enjoyable.
Four of us all had the lunch special at$15 each, not generous but decent portion. We had chicken curry, vegetable korma and tandoori chicken. Tasty curries, tender chicken and most importantly food came out hot and fresh!
The service was impeccable, competent and professional staff.......we all enjoyed Ember Kitchen and looked forward to our next visit.
Good service, friendly stratosphere and good food and reasonable prices - makes a nice evening out /thank you
The food was fantastic! The pakoras were melt-in-your mouth. The mixed grill was very tasty and a nice assortment of flavours. The aloo gobi was fresh and full of flavour but not too heavy. The Gulab Jamun - I could have eaten 5 of them myself. The kulfi was the best I’ve had. Well done Ember!
This is our go to place for special occasions or when we are entertaining people from out of town.
Fantastic food! Good service!
It was our first time trying out this place, think they really need to work on the service here. The food was really good but two of our dishes were cold - when we told the waiter he didn’t know what to do as we poured it on our plate. We had to wait over an hour for our apples and had to ask 3/4x for it. It definitely didn’t have a WOW factor like other Indian places we tried.
Nice patio to enjoy the food and sunshine. Butter chicken was very good
Great location right on the water with modern decor and bright ambience. The food is fresh and tasty. The downside is the service which is slow and confused. They took a long time to bring our food then brought one person’s entree with the appetizers then the rest of us waited a very long time for our mains. Uneven experience overall. Not likely to be back.
Great scenic location by the waters. The lamb vindaloo was great. Spinach bhajia is different. Made in house. Dont typically see on restaurant menus.
Life is too short to eat mediocre food. Whenever I travel, I search out places that are slightly different or unusual in some way. With a menu of Indian food by way of Uganda, Ember met the criteria. The service was excellent and the food delicious. The location was pleasant and afforded a nice view of the waterway. I will definitely go back the next time I am in Richmond.
We ordered featured lunch, the lamb burger and curry chicken. The food were excellent with good service and wonderful atmosphere.
The restaurant is beautiful and is situation in a great part of Steveston. The food was very good but the service definitely needs to be improved.
Food was excellent -- the restaurant seemed understaffed in terms of wait staff
Richmond is inundated with what I would call "fast food" ethnic restaurants - especially on the south end. We don't live in Richmond but visit relatives often. We happened across Ember on one of our river side walks. Very modern atmosphere but not sterile by any means. They have a patio area which looks like it would be a great place to dine when temps aren't near freezing as they were on our visit.
Previous reviews had warned of slow service but we did not experience that at all. Our server was on top of things throughout our meal. I had the Congolese Salad which was really good and not overly dressed - I added Chicken Tika for protein - just the right amount and very tender. The greens were fresh. My wife had the Cassava fries which were light and not oily. She also had the Veg Pakora and Spinach Bhajia. She thoroughly enjoyed both of them - ended up taking the leftovers home which she said were just as yummy reheated. Don't expect fancy cocktails but they have a reasonable wine list.
I must compliment the owners on their choice of chairs for the restaurant - they are very comfortable as is the overall vibe of the restaurant. Next time we are in town, we'll be back for sure.
Really loved the place glad i found it. The owner used to be at samosa garden so brought back the good old days but in a much better place and look😊
We had a fanastic time. Food is always fantastic, and service was much improved over previous visits. We will definitely return!
My family and I love the fresh and interesting infusion of flavour for each plate of food. From appetizer to dessert, we were all satisfied. Interior of the restaurant was attractive, located in a nice and pleasant seaside community.
Too bright for dinner, lower level lighting would be better
