                                                          Food was very nice but very overpriced, as were the drinks. Staff pleasant, but not too attentive. Enjoyed the music. We wouldn’t go again as menu choice not that extensive, but we understand that’s the concept of the restaurant. Also portions do not cater for 4 persons, only 3.

                                                          Thank you for the recent visit and time taken to post a review. Our dishes are freshly prepared daily on the premises and, in our opinion, there are numerous options for diners as we prefer quality over quantity. The Ember menu does change on a regular basis with the introduction of new dishes in addition to the seasonal variations. Our social dining concept provides portions for 2 or 3 to share and it’s only the 1kg rib that we suggest may be sufficient for 4 persons. Our drink prices are in line with restaurant industry standards and dishes are excellent value when viewed on a per person basis. We are pleased to note you enjoyed the music provided by our London DJs as this cost of around £4 pp must be factored into the overall pricing.

                                                          Brilliant evening, food was absolutely delicious! Great service, lovely drinks, the music in the background seems loud at first but actually is perfect. Really looking forward to returning.

                                                          Fantastic food, great dj (not too loud) and a fabulous bar downstairs. Would highly recommend. Can’t wait to hi again - but need to let my bank account recover a bit first. Cheap it ain’t!!

Great atmosphere, as advertised there is loudish music, it felt busy (in a good way), lovely warm lighting, temperature etc. Great menu, so good that we’ve already decided what we’ll have next time. Every dish that came out was so tasty, we shared small plates and every one was a talking point. Excellent wine too. Service was great. Overall, a prefect experience. It felt like good value and I can’t wait to go again!

                                                          This was our first experience at Ember and as we live and dine out in Hertford regularly we invited friends and were really looking forward to the evening as the local reviews have been good. The service from our waitress was absolutely impeccable and the food was excellent too. Unfortunately, the acoustics of the restaurant are really awful making for a very noisy and not a relaxing experience at all. We struggled to be able to hold a conversation and it was a very tiring, almost an exhausting experience and being honest we left a bit disappointed. It wasn't the music playing from the DJ which was excellent but just the general noise in the restaurant meaning we could hear every other conversation except our own. I guess that his could easily be fixed by some acoustic treatment or softer furnishings but I have to say that despite the excellent service and food, none of us felt that we would want to return anytime soon because of the noise which is a real shame. Please, please see if you can address this and we'll be regular customers

                                                          Excellent atmosphere, fabulous food and great service. The music was good quite loud but not too loud to drown conversation. The more expensive end of the scale for Hertford but that was justified

                                                          Very nice food BUT sharing plates won't suit everyone. Probably best for diners for 3 or4+. Excellent service at Hertford Ember, music great but with the difficult acoustics after 7pm because of other tables, it's hard to hear what your fellow diner on your own table is saying... but overall a really different and very pleasant experience. DJ's choice of music was outstanding. Turbot was pricey but worth it (just).

                                                          Fist time at ember with the family love the dj playing classic 80s soul funk we all had the roast it’s the best roast everything was cooked to perfection and tasted so good definitely recommend
