Embargo is open and is the place to be on Cape Cod, featuring a chic and sophisticated atmosphere with amazing food and handcrafted cocktails. Our menu features dry aged steaks cooked to perfection, mouth watering tapas, and of course, fresh local seafood. Each meal becomes an event when shared with friends and family!

PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO HIGH DEMAND, we do not guarantee reservations for outdoor patio seating. Tables are sat on a first come, first serve basis. If you have a reservation and request outdoor seating, you may endure a brief waiting period. All reservations are held for 10 minutes and will be considered cancelled without a phone call. Disappointing Experience - Hostess's Unprofessional Behavior Ruined Our Visit I recently visited this restaurant with a party of four adults to celebrate a special occasion, and unfortunately, it turned out to be a deeply disappointing experience. Our server was friendly and attentive, though it was clear that the restaurant was a bit disorganized, leading to slow service and poorly timed dishes. We didn’t mind much at first, as we were enjoying ourselves and the ambiance, but things quickly took a turn for the worse. We ordered a variety of cold and hot tapas, followed by entrees. While the dishes were spaced out a bit unevenly, with our individual entrees arriving about twenty minutes apart, we remained in good spirits and weren't overly concerned. However, after finishing our meal and waiting for the waiter to offer us dessert, we were abruptly approached by the hostess—later identified as Nikki, the owner's mother. With an unexpectedly hostile tone, Nikki informed us that we had been at the table for over two hours and that we needed to leave to make space for other guests. This was communicated in a way that made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. While the manager came over to address the situation and our server offered a sincere apology on Nikki's behalf, the experience was already soured. To make matters worse, as we were leaving, Nikki made another snarky remark, further suggesting that we had somehow done something wrong. As a business owner myself, I find it hard to understand how such unprofessional behavior would be tolerated. Unfortunately, it seems that the owner of this establishment has allowed their mother’s attitude to alienate patrons, which is not only uncalled for but also damaging to the restaurant’s reputation. It’s also worth noting that we’ve heard this behavior is not a one-time incident and that Nikki is reportedly known for this and for treating the staff poorly as well. Second time in one week to Embargo as we were staying in Hyannis. Good location on Main Street. Great drinks and tapas. My husband and I sat outside on a beautiful summer night. It was a great experience.

Waitress was pretty attentive, food was solid but better in the past. Ordered a martini that was warm and taste was not pleasant…. Followed with sangria which was yummy. 3 out of 4 appetizers were decent- the short rib was quite good :)

We arrived a few minutes early and were seated at a booth(we requested on our reservation) promptly. Our server came to the table very quickly and welcomed us with a smile. We made some decisions on the menu and got a number of Tapas at a very nice pace. They were all excellent. Had Vanilla Crème Brûlée for dessert, which was wonderful as well. Can’t wait for the next chance to visit Embargo.

Excellent service and atmosphere! The food and drinks were delicious with a variety of choices! Definitely a favorite choice while visiting the Cape.

Visited embargo for the first time. Even though we’ve lived in the area for many years. We are definitely coming back. The food was great, the drink menu is one of the best on the Cape! Lots of tacos and appetizers, lots of options. My daughters are vegetarian and vegan, and they have many things to choose from which was very much appreciated. It was a bit noisy, but, that also made it a fun overall experience.

We had high expectations for the restaurant based on the reviews. It’s in an easy to find location on main street in Hyannis, the layout of the restaurant is attractive and it has an extensive menu. We did enjoy sharing the lobster ravioli. We tried their specials of sushi and found them disappointing, more filled with rice than the lobster and avocado that was supposed to be in the roll. We ordered the shishito peppers. The portion was generous but half the order was too charred to enjoy.
