   Great casual restaurant in Hoboken, NJ that offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The food was very good as was the ambience. Great outdoor dining experience for those that have dogs as the outdoor section conducive.

   I have been to the Elysian dozens of times over the years and it's been consistently good. But, the food was off Saturday evening of Memorial Day weekend. The prime rib sandwich was not prime rib - tasted more like short rib. The steak sandwich was cold and the cheese wasn't melted. Fries were undercooked and cold. i'm wondering if there were on a skeleton crew or had a substitute chef for the holiday weekend.

   Food was good and plentiful, especially the Steak Frite. Staff was friendly. Old school Hoboken decor but updated nicely. A bit loud ( I was sitting under the speaker) but a cool, interesting place. We’ll be back

    A classy and classic place. I have not been back to Elysian since before the pandemic, and I am really glad they kept up the quality. Celebrated a birthday with a group of 7 and the place was quiet for all of us to talk normally. The wine selection is not particularly robust, but covers all the bases, and cocktails are outstanding. Charcuterie board is a little sparse, but the moules frites and the homemade gnocchi are absolutely stunning!

    We went for Brunch on a very raining Sunday. The atmosphere & staff at the Elysian is always warm and welcoming. The bar area was hopping and the back room was quieter with families and groups celebrating. The food is ALWAYS special, wonderfully presented & tasty with plenty of choices for substitutes if you want.

    Meh. Flavorless food and drinks. I have never seen a French restaurant try to pass a bland grilled cheese as a croquet madam. Not going back.

    The food here is good, but we were seated at front of the restaurant next to the bar area and there wasn't enough space. Servers couldn't reach the table to bring food. People were directly next to us yelling and with their dog.

    We were 4 people for a Saturday Brunch, seated outside. Unfortunately the food & service were mediocre. We had eggs Benedict, traditional (ham was dry) and with salmon (salmon was salty & dry). We also ordered pancakes, with blueberries and traditional. Both orders were flat and not fluffy. The orange juice was from low quality concentrate. We ordered a cappuccino, but as it was never delivered, I can’t comment. We requested the eggs to be delivered first, followed by the pancakes. We received all 4 dishes cold and at the same time. The positive points were the patio sitting and the iced coffee, but I do not think that these can erase the bad food and service. What a disappointment.

    Great food and an outstanding menu, but the service was disappointing. Tried to have my 6-party group squeeze into a 4-person table because all the larger spaces were taken - even though we made the reservation a week in advance. After finally sitting, it was a great brunch. Service was slow but I would go back for the omelets and bellinis.

    I go to the Elysian often it’s my happy place. One of the only places I feel comfortable dining alone. The staff is the best! And Chris the manager always makes sure I or anyone I bring with me is taken care of.

    We’ve been coming to Elysian for 17 years. This time was special because we had both sets of grandparents together, one set from abroad. Lovely dinner. Good service. Wish the wines we wanted were available but the third was fine.

    We love the Elysian Cafe! The staff is so nice and their fries are the best and salty. Yum Yum Yum (says my seven year old!;) great cocktails and ambiance — and the best BLT I’ve had. Be sure to make a reservation as they get busy. I do not miss in Hoboken! ❤️

    Calamari salad and the fries are THE BEST. The pork chop over white beans and spinach was also pretty good (cooked more than I requested), but at $30, it's getting pricey. Our server was right on target.

    Sunday brunch with mom. We sat at the bar, since it was filled and the food as well as the drinks were delicious. My mom is a picky eater and she was very happy! Thank goodness for all of the employees and their gracious hospitality. My mom added the little 🇵🇷 flag! 😊

    We were so impressed with the staff because we were having brunch with our 2 grandchildren, 4 months, 2 1/2 y/o. They were accommodating, attentive and very kind to the babies. Our son had recommended them to us because he had gone with the kids the weekend before—same positive reaction.

    I’ve previously ordered takeout from Elysian but this was my first time in house. My boyfriend and I LOVED it! Casual, cozy and intimate atmosphere, incredible food with great portions, and attentive staff that gave great explanations and recommendations. We will be back many more times!

    The place vas very crowded (there were not many options available in the neighborhood on a public holiday Monday for brunch…) Even so, we got a table at the very end, and was interrupted multiple times by servers and guests trying to reach other tables. The food was ok and the waiters were fine too (though probably understaffed for full capacity)

    I go to The Elysian on a regular basis as I live right down the block. I have many choices in a 3 block radius but always choose Elysian - It’s my comfort place. The service is excellent. The atmosphere is great without being stuffy. Great food great staff. Benny and Chris are wonderful they always make sure I am taken care of. Love this place!

    Our family enjoyed a nice meal out to celebrate our son’s birthday. My entree of the crunchy chicken on jasmine rice with roasted carrots was very good, much better than I remember entrees at Elysian in the past. Chicken was light and had a lemon jus that was delicious. Jasmine rice was rich but not greasy at all. Serving portion was just enough, and not overloaded. Family enjoyed their food as well.     They used McDonald’s fries, they were clearly McDonald’s. Could not cut into my steak because they threw a large fries under it, soggy. Food was not seasoned. Tables were not weighed done, couldn’t cut steak.
