OUTDOOR DINING: Our patio is uncovered and seating is weather dependent. We are not able to move reservations indoors in the case of inclement weather.

ABOUT: Elske means love in Danish, a nod to both David Posey’s Danish mother and the fact that the couple got engaged in Copenhagen. “Our travels in Denmark have really influenced us,” Chef Posey said. “We like that clean, simple aesthetic.” The dining room, all crisp lines, minimalist décor & soft lighting, is anchored by a wide open kitchen on one side & a small patio with a working fireplace on the other. Combined with friendly service, it creates the impression that you’re eating in a tasteful Scandinavian friend’s weekend home.

    Extraordinary dining experience. A riot of flavors and the wine pairings were excellent. We went on a weekend night, so it was predictably busy and noisy, but the service was terrific, the food was indescribable, and we had a wonderful time. I can’t recommend it enough.

    Great ambience, nice decor and very good service. The appetizers were simple but elegant and nice. The main course was a pretty lackluster however which was a shame. Nothing really stood out in terms of flavor and creativity which was disappointing. Really wanted to like the place but the food was a bit of a let down.

    One of the best meals I’ve had in Chicago. Not a single flaw. Wonderful. I only wish I hadn’t waited so long!

    The food was nothing short of amazing. We had the White asparagus, Soft shell crab, Black bean agnolotti, Lamb saddle, and the Frikadeller. The highlights were hands down the white asparagus and the agnolotti. The balance was all there, complimented by the portions as they weren't your typical fine dining one biters. Highly recommend a visit!

    Good food but not stellar. A few of the dishes we chose needed acid. Service was great but food either needed a little extra pizzaz or a lower cost.

    The entire experience was absolutely delightful! We ate outside in the garden by the fireplace. The service was first-class: courteous, efficient, patient, and knowledgeable about the entire menu. The food was magical—a literal rainbow of flavors combining contrasting elements that dance on your mouth. The desserts are special and delicate with original flavor combinations that are gratifying. I love them. The chef is probably my favorite person in Elske. I fully enjoyed the experience and will be coming back soon, as I always do.
