Service was not great. We were never checked on once we finally got our drinks. We were not greeted either.
I called to push back the reservations. They were very accommodating.
It closed early and I wasn’t notified despite my reservation.
I did not eat there only have a drink. I was there for dinner, but the place it’s more like a bar not white linen kinda restaurant. It’s also on the other side of manhattan not west side. If you wznt nicer stay closer to Westside
A good place to meet up before heading somewhere else.
The staff was prompt and friendly. The food was great. I can’t recommend this restaurant enough!
I booked a table for 8, which was confirmed the day of the reservation right at 6pm. Upon arrival, I was told there was no way they could accommodate the confirmed reservation but they would “do their best” to find a table. The manager was kind enough to comp a few drinks after we expressed our confusion, but we ultimately waited for over an hour and were never seated. Bartenders were bizarrely aloof and the crowd was a little rough. It’s a nice idea, but hugely misses the mark when it comes to execution. There are too many other actually nice spots in NYC to waste time here.
Made bar reservations for 2, but multiple private parties had the place packed and the music deafening. There were no “seats” anywhere, just a big packed open bar. One of the staff tried to be helpful and show us a quieter back room, but the bartender kicked us out after he left. Unable to order food, get a drink, or hear each other talk. Might be nice during the day, but will avoid after dark in the future if we’re looking for a relaxed drink.
Came here to celebrate my engagement, had a reservation for a table at the bar. Upon entering was seated at a table away from the bar and was never given any notice that there was going to be a private party taking over the bar that night. We proceeded to our table and ordered drinks and after waiting over a half hour for 2 drinks we decided to leave as our waitress never came back to check on us or bring any drinks. To add further insult the private party in the bar area was very small looked like less than 30 people.
Good for happy hour - great ambience - great view - limited menu
Horrible service, it took 30 minutes to get a drink, then they brought out the wrong drinks and took another 30 minutes to get the correct one. They focus on having "girls" in tight outfits vs trying to offer quality service. Only 1 bartender on a Saturday night during Christmas!
We had a reservation and when we were greeted at the door. We were sat a table and 15 minutes went by without even a server coming over. So I went up to the bar to order a drinks and the Bartender said a server would be right with us. So five minutes went by and our server finally came over. She was engaged in a conversation with another employee and I guess we weren't that important. Once we received our drink and or appetizer. The manager came over and asked if we could move to another seating area because he had a larger party coming in and he didn't want them to wait. It is a Beautiful spot but want the spot has in a view it definitely lacks in service. Hopefully they will address there in ability to be hospitable.
I made reservation. When we arrived no one acknowledged us. I asked who do I speak with to get out table and was told he’s the host. So, he looked up our reservation then asked us if we want to sit outside or at the bar because if we sit outside we could only be there for an hour due to a party. We agreed we’d only be there an hour, so we went outside. Amazingly, we sat there more than ten minutes waiting for menus, a waitress, and even a glance our way. I had to page someone to come over to us. They then got our waitress and she said we’d have to eat quickly. I explained that we’d love to if we can get menus and drinks. It was a bizarre experience full of pathetic lack of service. They left the kitchen door open the entire time with the smell of cleaning products wafting our way. Our plates were cleared before before finishing our food. We managed to pay our bill and leave within 55 minutes of entering the building. We are like it was fast food with the expense of a restaurant. This was ultimately disappointing.
Booked a table for 5:30Pm and we were kicked out of our nice table to the back shady smelly area near the kitchen after 20mins because apparently the whole place was suddenly booked for a private party. The manager promised to give us gift cards but never did. And he was even rude to us and didnt let us use the elevator to leave, and directed us to the fire exit to take the stairs down two flights tsk poor customer service and just plain rude
They took our reservations for outdoor seating but never mentioned they had two private events in same place. Had to walk through crowds to a room with no view where they said we could stand by a high-top table in front of a brick wall and said if we stand there long enough someone would bring us chairs. Why did they even bother to take our reservation?
Visiting NYC with husband and 9yo we were looking for a special place for dinner on our last night in the city. It has lovely ambience but unfortunately the overall atmosphere was more late night club than restaurant and was not the scene we were looking for that night (i.e. loud music and tiny dresses on waitstaff.) Had we known we would not have made a reservation in the first place.
Waitress spilled our tray of drinks on us. Gave us the bill for entire order
Awesome will be back! Outdoor seating area is great.
The view is really disappointing as the building isn’t very high.
Absolutely no ambiance. The waitresses took a long time to come and looked very bored and snobbish. We felt we were really bothering them !
Drinks are pretty expensive and we thought they could give away a few peanuts or potatoe chips with them (we ordered 6 drinks).
We went to other rooftops that were much nicer and welcoming.
I work in the area and have wanted to try this location for some time now. I'm glad that I finally did, however, I wish I had done it during the summer as the outdoor area is lovely, but a little cool to sit outside in NY earlier this week. I rated the food as average despite the fact that we didn't eat, but I couldn't complete this review without the rating. Drinks were good, but expensive. But I say that matter of factly as I understand this is a NYC rooftop bar.
nice place, nice views and good drinks and good attention
Everything was beautiful and the servers were so helpful and gracious!
Had a great time enjoying after work dinner and cocktails. Will definitely return.
Awesome lounge feel early on (~9) and very clubby by the time we left (~11:30). Awesome spot, the tuna was great!
It is a beautiful rooftop bar/restaurant. The selection for food is not extensive but very good.
We booked an outdoor table able and we have been only offered a seat at the entrance indoor, as a private event was going on outdoor. We left the place.
Drinks were ok. Food was also ok. The service could of been a little bit better in my opinion, felt as if I was waiting a little longer then usually
Their rooftop is always booked for private parties and they would give a table in a small corner which does not have a view at all. Limited food options and expensive drinks.
My girlfriend and I made a reservation about 1 month prior to coming here on a Thursday evening. Little did we know that apparently they were celebrating their one year anniversary that night along with other “events” so it was very crowded at 7:15 pm. When we arrived at the main entrance on the street level and gave our name for our reservation, we were told by the staff that there were no more tables left??? Even though we had a reservation, it was not being honoured as there were just too many events going on! Well then someone should have notified us the night before or even the day of and we would have gone somewhere else... I was very disappointed by this but we went upstairs anyway to speak to the hostess on the rooftop to see if she could do anything. She also told us there were no tables left without an apology or even an offer for a complementary drink... very poor service! Within a few minutes though, we noticed that a table outside opened up, so we were able to be seated. It took quite a while for the waitress to come over to take our drink order and even longer for it to arrive.... we were not impressed at all!! The bar itself is nice as is the outdoor rooftop patio and there was a gorgeous sunset that night as well.... but they really need to get their act together in terms of customer service because it was very lacking here that night! At the very least they should have offered us a free drink... we will definitely not be back!!
I would recommend only under the circumstances of know what you’re getting into. It’s an extremely beautiful venue and view is amazing but I do feel some of food items are a little over priced for the portion you receive. Drinks are pricey too $18-20 per drink but they are good and strong. Service was a little slow for it not being busy & I found a hair in my food, which they quickly remedied which is good. It’s definitely a bucket list place & Instagram worthy for photos and such but I’m not certain I go again.
Looks different from the pictures I did make a reservation 3 day before and when I arrived they said I have to wait 30 more minutes
Food was very good, loved the rooftop, poor wine selection, and way overpriced.
Outdoor seating offers great view towards the Hudson river. Hearty appetizers great for sharing and tasty drinks from the bar.
It was closed despite our reservation this was a disappointment as it was a very hot day to be walking there for no reason
I booked a table at Elsie Rooftop almost a month before the reserved date. A friend from Italy was visiting and I wanted to show him the unique NYC rooftop experience that locals enjoy. Elsie and/or Open Table allowed me to book a table for a Sunday evening, but when I arrived prior to my reservation, Elsie was closed. I am disappointed that Open Table allowed me to book a reservation when the restaurant was closed, and that Elsie did not call me to change the reservation knowing that they would be closed.
The food was phenomenal!
