Elora Mill Restaurant
My wife and I both had salmon for lunch. It was very nicely cooked with crispy skin and very nice lemon sauce on the plate - and so not overwhelming. Having a window seat is a real treat with a lovely view of the river. It is, however, rather expensive for lunch ($32 for the salmon) and dinner even more so. A few potatoes and a bit of veg on the side would make it seem a better value. Nevertheless, we will visit again.
We came to the Elora Mill for lunch after spending the weekend in Elora. The venue is very beautiful and well decorated. The atmosphere and ambiance is stunning. The good is extremely over priced and the service was snobby. Our waitress said. That’s all your ordering? I will not be coming back.
The problem was with open table. It would not give me the date I wanted and the reminder from them was for 4p.m. ( my reservation was for 1p.m.) As far as the Elora Mill, excellent food and above excellent service. Thanks for the local resident discount in January. It is rather high end price wise, an elaborate beef open sandwich for $21 but it was delicious...one slice of bread topped with sliced beef with a topping of greens in garlic...yum but like I said, pricey. The female server was attentive and told us how great it is to work for Pearl company..good. She took time to explain future plans and help us with what we ordered to eat. The maitre d was awesome. A beautiful venue with fabulous ambience. VERY noisy when full. Try to go at opening for lunch 11.30 and sit by the window with a great view of the "tooth of time"Will definitely go again for a VERY special occasion.
The seafood chowder was excellent. The burgers were solid enjoyable burgers and the venison pie was good. It could have had some green veg with it though. The ambience is great and the mill renovations are awsome.
New Year’s Eve. Exquisite 5 course dinner.
Beautiful surroundings, great friendly staff and service was exceptional. Memorable
The food presentation and taste was exquisite. Great atmosphere seated right beside the window overlooking the water falls. The service was superb. We had the cod, porchetta and cauliflower and chick pea dishes, they were all excellent. The desserts were a work of art and the coffee amazing.
Great location, exceptional views and character. Tasteful merger of old and new architecture. Lunch and service were excellent.
Service was very slow and we heard a manager telling a server to push the 4 course menu - this was after we had taken our servers suggestion to try it.
The cocktails in the lounge downstairs were nicely made, but the service there was terribly inattentive. We were never given menus and had to take from the table next to us after the guests finished.
Beverage service upstairs was slow too; we waited for our wine for 10-15 minutes after ordering. We were seated at 6:15 and left at close to 9pm.
We were not disappointed by the quality of the four courses, only that it was a lot of food. Sure, great value, but it was disappointing because our server had said the portion sizes reflect the four courses, but in the end they seemed like regularly sized courses. We would not have tried the 4 courses if we knew they would be so regularly sized. We could have spent $45 each instead of $85. In that way, we felt deceived, especially hearing that managers comments.
The spaces are beautiful, the finishes suit the building well, and overall ambiance is warm, authentic, and vintage. The level of service (and honesty) just didn’t seem to match.
The food was good and the service was excellent. However, we were extremely disappointed that there wasn’t a table in the room with the large window view. We had requested a window table when booking 3 weeks earlier. Parking was also very difficult to find.
Stunning view of river and rapids. Warm, friendly wait staff. Excellent service. The appetizers and mains were delicious, served hot and beautifully plated. It was worth the 8 year wait. We loved it.
Beautiful restaurant and the Tenderloin was phenomenal. Romantic and scenic view.
Only downside was loud children behind us that took away from some of the experience.
We have a child. We left him at home hoping for a romantic date night.
I would request next time to not be seated near kids.
(Yes, I realize some people have no choice and/or want to experience everything with their kids, but this definitely wasn’t a restaurant to bring anyone under 8.)
Will definitely return. The food was amazing and service was excellent. Thank you!
The atmosphere was nice but very stuffy. It definitely is not for your average person as you feel very looked down upon.
The portions were small and lacking taste for a huge price.
Was definitely not what I expected.
Foods amazing!! Always love it here for our special occasions!
Elegant atmosphere! Outstanding food! At our Lunch on December 26 service was not up to the usual standards!
Beautiful spot close the home for special occasions
Fireplace seating was a bit intense, overall experience was good, definitely presentation over portion. Very upscale.
We decided to go "out " for Christmas dinner. We wanted a place with nice ambiance and the Elora Mill did not disappoint! Staff were wonderful and accommodating. The menu selection had enough variation for all palettes including a glutten free option. We were not rushed and there were many intimate seating venues with fire places lit bringing warmth and charm to the venue. Music quietly played in the background which allowed for meaningful conversation. The decorations were seasonal and tasteful. We were given a lovely table with lots of seating room to accommodate a party of eight. This may be a new tradition in our family. I actually sat down this Christmas dinner as opposed to running around as is the case when one prepares the meal! Wonderful experience - will do it again!
Our daughter and grandchildren were away for the holidays and my wife was not able to host our usual family holiday dinner. I needed to substitute something special. Forty years ago I went on the Great Canadian Bicycle Rally at the Elora Conservation area. I discovered Elora is one of the most beautiful scenic spots in Canada. Some investors had the perception and imagination to see the Elora Mill's potential and have invested in creating an exceptional restaurant with an exceptional view. Christmas brunch was amazing. It was expensive, $200, but if you are looking for an exceptional, memorable experience, this restaurant should be considered.
exceptionally good food , service and ambiance.
wine selection very good
Great place to eat, but very noisy when a full dining room by the water view section
Had a wonderful evening with family. Our first time for dinner and can't say enough about the excellent meal and the venue.
We had a most amazing dinner at the mill December 22 3018. Everything from the service, food. Atmosphere, was absolutely wonderful.
We spent time at the elora mill while dating some 20 years ago. It was nice to walk down memory lane in a fantastically renovated space!
Also thanks to Zack for giving us a tour of two suites. he was informative and a gentleman. The suites are amazing
We will return.
Delicious food, wonderful service and awesome view!
Nothing short of amazing! We were there for 4 hours, but it didn't feel like it. Not only was the food amazing but the experience was also something to remember
10th anniversary dinner for our Hockey Movie Mom group. The setting was beautiful and food excellent. I did have to ask Andrew for candles for our table well into our evening. Just a detail that sometimes should not be overlooked.
Very nice all the way around. Extremely nice staff, and atmosphere. Delicious well presented food. Very good service.
We sat downstairs right beside the water and it was so relaxing. We even saw kayakers. The decor of the whole mill was amazing, and so tastefully done. Loved the lighting. It was also quite the experience being able to see right into the kitchen and the Manager was so friendly and explained so much to us.
Lovely lunch, beautiful view, friendly and efficient staff, delightful experience
Great food, service, selections and length of waiting time between courses very good. We received a little treat - caviar on creme fresh on a biscuit- yummy and unexpected! Will definitely be back for more and have already recommended the Elora Mill Restaurant to others. Our ‘booth’ was described as fireside but we could not see the fireplace which was behind us without standing. The only disappointment.
Outstanding food and service. Your spa staff was very accommodating, allowing us access to the balcony for our photo shoot.
Beautiful restaurant overlooking the falls at Elora Gorge. Reservations are a must. Excellent food and drinks. Service was incredibly slow - we were there for over 2.5 hours! Not a place to go if you have an appointment or meeting afterward. It was also very loud. My friends and I had to shout at each other and repeat everything we said. They do need to work on the acoustics in there - too many hard surfaces with all the glass walls.
I would go again though.
Our first time trying the Elora Mill and we were very impressed. We loved the atmosphere, the old world charm, the view of the waterfall, the food was perfectly executed and service were great! Will definitely go back again and recommend to friends.
Amazing experience. One of the top restaurants in the region.
Very tasty food. It was delicious. Excellent service. Warm and comfortable surroundings.
The refurbished Mill is beautiful. We enjoyed the price fixe menu. Tenderloin was beautifully prepared. Foie gras was excellent. Lovely petit treats served as a gift from chef at the end were delightful. The sommelier- didn’t catch his name- had very unusual wine pairings which was quite a treat to try very different wines that I had not had before. Our server was wonderful too!
Stunning ambience beautiful views delicious food informative staff
Such a great atmosphere. Great food. Great service. Thank you.
Amazing view, waiter was attentive and wonderful. Would recommend to everyone. A 5 star rating all the way!
