Elora Mill Restaurant
Beautiful setting. Loved the view and the ambience. I really liked my pasta dish. My guest ‘a frittata was dry and not up to par for the 19$ price tag.
Service person was very sweet, however , maybe not as attentive as they could or should have been. Training insufficient?we had to ask for sugar for the coffee ( did not bring with the cream) and had to ask for refill of coffee. Did not come around as much as could have. All in all would recommend.
We dined in the solarium. There was a particularly boisterous crown, which made it difficult to carry on a conversation with my dinner guest. Kinda spoiled what would otherwise have been a really nice dining experience.
We had a very good dining experience ,we are planing to attend a dinner as we have had 2 lunch experiences .This was my daughters first time at the restaurant and she was very impressed .
The view, ambiance, and overall style of the mill is breath taking. We had dinner on a Saturday night and the flowing water with its light show captured the beauty of this hidden gem. Our drinks were on point, the sangria had a delightful bite and the beers on tap were fresh. The reason for my low review is a direct reflection of the food. The steak was soaked in oil, which my spouse later had an upset stomach from we believe and my pork was perfectly cooked but it’s compliments were lacking.
We likely will not return for dinner, but may stop by for drinks again. Our waiter enjoyed poking fun in a great way at our questions regarding the menu.
The newly renovated Elora Mill is gorgeous. It is beautifully decorated and views of the river are stunning. The staff was extremely friendly. Unfortunately I have one big BUT...the food wasn't up to par! I had the snapper and asked that it be done dairy free and it came swimming in olive oil. The portion size wasn't enough either, some rice or more veggies would have been nice. My husband had steak and it came with three tiny potatoes and NO veggies. I would go back to enjoy the food and I would order from the pub menu.
The service was wonderful but the frittata was terrible. The ambience was beautiful.
Food and service were excellent, waiter was very helpful. Enjoyable experience all around.
Beautiful restaurant and little town. Food was amazing and decent size portions for the price. I would definitely recommend going here. My only suggestion is to maybe add a daily special additional to their regular menu. Everyday they have 1 new item that's different than what's on the menu to try to get people coming back multiple times.
The experience at the Elora Mill was excellent overall. The team accommodated our special request for seating, the food was terrific and they were knowledgeable and considerate of allergies identified. Highly recommend and will certainly return.
Great place for a Sunday luncheon, beautiful views, food and excellent service.
All four of us had the frittata for lunch which was very disappointing and ho-hum.
The service was great, the French fries delicious and the celebratory sweets lovely
Beautifully restored and wonderful atmosphere. You pay for the experience of the whole place. Dinner was beyond amazing and our server was fantastic. So attentive to detail.
The atmosphere is wonderful however the food is lacking in flavour and the solarium is very noisy. The experience doesn’t live up to the bill yet.
A great place for a special treat. Expensive.. $60 for 2 of us and my friend just had a plate of grilled veggies. Food is top notch and service excellent. Will go again for the view and the food, but only for a special treat.
Classy, yet casual! Spacious dining area! Setting is one of kind!
Dining room was perfect. My wife and I sat in a cozy booth in front of a wood burning fireplace. We loved the experience.
Menu was OK. It seemed to lack originality, and prices seemed ambitious. $40 for a skirt steak was disappointing, and the pork loin was slightly over cooked and under seasoned. Presentation was 5 stars.
Service was good. Our server was attentive to our needs, but lacked knowledge of the menu and did not provide any insight when we asked questions.
Overall is was a good experience. Will return for a special night out as the dining room can’t be beat. But it won’t become a regular destination as there are other restaurants that provide better food for similar prices.
We were really excited to dine at the Mill so maybe we were a little let down. Not to say this restaurant isn't wonderful. We were able to sit next to the window and watch the falls, which was a treat, but they keep it quite dark by the windows (obviously) and it was a little too dark for me. Our food was great, but not exceptional. The chef seemed to have a theme of lemon for the menu, and while I love lemon, the ravioli was a little overwhelming, and the salmon did not follow as well with the lemon. I'd recommend not getting both of these items. The terrine was a little bland. The salad was delicious. And I cannot recommend the Passionfruit cheesecake enough. I am mostly disappointed in cheesecakes, and this one makes me want to go back to town immediately. The waitstaff was pretty jovial and attentive. I was a little shocked by our waiter's rather zealous smack on my shoulder after telling a joke, but it was ok. Our wine selection, after requesting a full-bodied Italian, was not full-bodied. But it was ok. All in all, it was a nice experience, but they do have a couple areas to tighten up to make the experience match the price point.
This was my first time and my wife's second in the restaurant . I enjoyed the view and the service and food was very good . We will be back for the dinner .
Lovely lunch overlooking the gorge. Cocktails and food were delicious. Service was excellent.
We went to enjoy a beautiful Valentines dinner. We had made reservations a week in advance but on arrival, we were told the dinning room was full and they put us in the cocktail lounge downstairs. A beautiful view but the tables are cocktail tables, small and lower so not comfortable for eating. Our waiter came and we ordered cocktails, then our appetizer came and the food was very delicious...until the main course! I ordered the Chasseange Poussin which was on the menu, my husband the lamb chops. His meal was very good, mine came with liver pate in the dish, although the menu never mentioned liver, I would never have ordered this dish if I had known it had liver, as I dislike that taste. The chicken was extremely salty, my husband agreed that it was very over salted, I could taste nothing but the salt. When the waiter came to the table to see how we enjoyed our meal, I asked him if my dish stated on the menu that it had liver in it. He assured me it did mention liver pate. We did not have a menu at this point to check. He told us he would let the kitchen know that I disliked my dish. Then our waiter left and never returned, we had another waitress for the remainder of the evening, who brought us the menu again to see if we wanted dessert. I checked the description of my dish and there was no mention of liver or liver pate. I think our waiter was switched because he was embarrassed to return and apologize for his error in telling me that the menu had stated liver on my dish. His not returning to finish serving us left a uneasy feeling on our part, and ruined an otherwise pleasant evening. I have never complained about a dish at a restaurant.. EVER!!! This is not something I do for enjoyment to see if I can get a free meal. Had our waiter returned and apologized and finished serving us our dessert course, maybe this review would not have been so harsh. For my first experience of the Elora Mill, I left disappointed in the service and the food.
Excellent place, could have used a few more vegetarian options on the menu.
It is our 3 years anniversary and Valentine’s Day, very nice and cozy restaurant, wish we come earlier during the day so we can view the waterfall
The experience was amazing overall. Great service from start to end. Everyone was professional and did their job to the best of their ability. Food was delicious and serving size was generous.
Portions are quite small for the value. Overall though an amazing night and great place for date night
Lunch menu was limited and had weird selections.
This was an amazing experience with exceptional service, a stunning view and excellent (although limited) menu.
This new restaurant was worth the long trip on a poor winter driving day.
The view from the dining room extending over the rushing water of the Grand River was an experience. The friendly staff and the excellent food prepared by the chef was excellent. Good flavours, nicely arranged and surprisingly good portions too! The ambiance and decor were lovely. The natural lime stone walls complemented by steel and glass to maximize the view was well done.
We surely will be back...
We had a wonderful evening. A great place to take my family to celebrate a birthday. Thank you!
Wonderful service for celebrating a friend’s birthday; food was outstanding !
Lovely meal. Friendly staff. They did a good job on the refurb. Will highly recommend.
Handled my delay in arriving with ease, but could not find me on the system when I eventually arrived. No problem as it was not busy. Beautiful view of the mini falls courtesy of the Grand River. Drinks/menu explained in detail. Honest opinion of the food served and the intricacies of the preparation. Fine presentation of the food served and tasty to boot.
They undertook a major renovation and it has turned out absolutely fantastic. Food was great with excellent service. Planning our next visit with possibly a girls day out using the spa and lunch. When the weather improves, will plan a visit for dinner.
The atmosphere in the mill was fantastic! I cannot say enough about the food, service and overall experience. It was expensive but we will be back. The quality outweighs the price.
This venue is an absolute gem tucked away in Elora. I love everything about it. The decor, the atmosphere, the food, the service. It's just top notch. Been 2X now no regrets. I am planning my next visit in March or April already. Add the Spa next door to your plans and make a day or afternoon of it!
We were disappointed with the new menu.
Wonderful ambiance . Excellent service. Friendly staff. Beautiful restoration. I definitely will return.
Are waitress was very good and attend for all are needs. We would come back because of her service.
We went for our anniversary. Thoroughly enjoyed the 2hrs plus hour visit. It was also our first visit and it certainly lived up to the hype and exceeded our expectations. Our server was very attentive, non intrusive with the timing of each course and inquiry as to the usual "how is everything" we've come to expect when fine dining out. The foods we chose from the 4 course "deal" (which I recommend) was rich, creative and flavorful. Also portioned perfect. Taste was exceptional and we left feeling quite full but not painfully. We found for the variety, quality and quantity of foods the mill a very fair cost. We will definitely return to try the other choices from the menu. The mill certainly did not disappoint. A new favorite for us.
My wife and I both had salmon for lunch. It was very nicely cooked with crispy skin and very nice lemon sauce on the plate - and so not overwhelming. Having a window seat is a real treat with a lovely view of the river. It is, however, rather expensive for lunch ($32 for the salmon) and dinner even more so. A few potatoes and a bit of veg on the side would make it seem a better value. Nevertheless, we will visit again.
We came to the Elora Mill for lunch after spending the weekend in Elora. The venue is very beautiful and well decorated. The atmosphere and ambiance is stunning. The good is extremely over priced and the service was snobby. Our waitress said. That’s all your ordering? I will not be coming back.
